The ZyXEL CAM5525 Network Camera captures 1280 x 1024-pixel high-definition images and videos that provide four times the pixels of traditional VGA (640 x 480 pixels) cameras for professional surveillance and security applications in homes or small businesses. The low light support allows clear image capture with illumination as low as 1 LUX; the CAM5525 also comes with a removable IR cut filter to reduce the influence of infrared light for better day-and-night surveillance image quality.

Multi-codec support offers smooth delivery of image

With multiple codec supports such as H.264, MPEG4 and MJPEG, the CAM5525 allows users to choose the optimal format and adjust image size, image quality and bit rates for actual network constraints. For example, the H.264 codec can produce a smaller file size, making it more useful for extended recording periods or low-bandwidth networks. The MJPEG delivers greater file integrity, making it ideal for detailed monitoring. With customizable profiles of image format, theres no need to worry about the transmission lags or lost frames.

Event triggers with real-time notifications and recording

The CAM5525 can capture and record images triggered by user-defined schedule, motion detection or external GPIO alarm. With the preset camera sensitivity and 3-spot monitoring support, users can have clear and detail images captured when they need them. The physical GPIO interface enables users to bundle the CMA5525 and several external alarm devices such as door control, motion sensor and alarm. If any motion or digital signal from an external alarm is detected, the CAM5525 will start capturing images and send them to a user-specified FTP site or network storage device. At the same time, the CAM5525 system automatically sends an alert notification via e-mail and instant message to the administrator for easy access, viewing and playback of the recorded image and video.

Seamless surveillance from anywhere

In addition to reviewing and monitoring the recorded footage on PCs and laptops, users can also utilize the ZyXELs CamView software to view real-time home security footage and image captured with their smartphones*. Through the user-friendly ZyXEL CamView software, users can manage multiple network cameras, set up e-mail notifications, as well as to configure recording types, schedules and motion detection settings. The ZyXELs CamView also allows users to upload an e-map of where the cameras are located to further simplify the management process. Mobile surveillance has never been easier. No matter during a business trip or a vacation, users can use the ZyXELs CamView Lite software on smartphones* for instant monitoring. Those who cant or dont want to install the CamView Lite software can view and capture images on smartphones* through RTSP with a 3GPP player installed.

Built-in RS-485 expands view with pan and tilt capabilities

The CAM5525 also has a built-in RS-485 interface that provides connectivity to an optional pan/tilt enclosure, which effectively adds pan/tilt functionality to the CAM5525 for greater functionality.

Flexible and efficient IP camera deployment

Compliant with IEEE802.3af PoE standard, the CAM5525 can be powered by a standard PoE switch or injector over the same Ethernet cables providing data connectivity. This adds flexibility to where the CAM5525 can be mounted, as theres no need for a nearby power receptacle. Also, with bundled mounting bracket, users can install the CAM5525 on the ceiling or on the wall per the users needs.
