The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, Gods
infallible written Word, the 66 books of the Old and
New Testaments. We believe that it was uniquely,
verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and
that it was written without error (inerrant) in the
original manuscripts. t is the supreme and fnal
authority in all matters on which it speaks.
We accept those areas of doctrinal teaching
on which, historically, there has been general
agreement among all true Christians. Because
of the specialized calling of our movement, we
desire to allow for freedom of conviction on other
doctrinal matters, provided that any interpreta-
tion is based upon the Bible alone, and that no
such interpretation shall become an issue which
hinders the ministry to which God has called us.
There is one true God, eternally existing in three
personsFather, Son, and Holy Spiriteach of
whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity
and the characteristics of personality.
Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became
fesh through His miraculous conception by the
Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Hence, He is
perfect Deity and true humanity united in one
person forever.
He lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for
the sins of men by dying on the cross as their
substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and
accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him
alone.
He rose from the dead in the same body, though
glorifed, in which He lived and died.
He ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at
the right hand of God the Father, where He, the
only mediator between God and man, continually
makes intercession for His own.
Man was originally created in the image of God.
He sinned by disobeying God; thus, he was
alienated from his Creator. That historic fall
brought all mankind under divine condemnation.
Mans nature is corrupted, and he is thus totally
unable to please God. Every man is in need of
regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
The salvation of man is wholly a work of Gods
free grace and is not the work, in whole or in
part, of human works or goodness or religious
ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to
those who put their faith in Christ alone for their
salvation, and thereby justifed them in His sight.

It is the privilege of all who are born again of the
Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the
very moment in which they trust Christ as their
Savior. This assurance is not based upon any kind
of human merit, but is produced by the witness of
the Holy Spirit, who confrms in the believer the
testimony of God in His written word.
The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal
and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work
of Christ to men. He convicts and draws sinners
to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually
indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth
and seals them until the day of redemption. His
fullness, power and control are appropriated in the
believers life by faith.
Every believer is called to live so in the power of
the indwelling Spirit that he will not fulfll the lust of
the fesh but will bear fruit to the glory of God.
Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, His Body,
which is composed of all men, living and dead,
who have been joined to Him through saving faith.
God admonishes His people to assemble together
regularly for worship, for participation in ordi-
nances, for edifcation through the Scriptures and
for mutual encouragement.
At physical death the believer enters immediately
into eternal, conscious fellowship with the Lord
and awaits the resurrection of his body to ever-
lasting glory and blessing.
Jesus Christ will come again to the earth
personally, visibly and bodily -- to consummate
history and the eternal plan of God.
The Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers
to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and
to disciple men of every nation. The fulfllment of
that Great Commission requires that all worldly
and personal ambitions be subordinated to a
total commitment to Him who loved us and gave
Himself for us.

Generation of the Great Commission
In December 2010, we saw the biggest single day in
our history presenting the gospel to 687,488 people
from all 191 countries. Of those coming to the sites,
56,854 indicated their decision for Jesus Christ. This
year we saw over 119 million visitors to our site, with
more than 15 million indicated decisions for Christ.
We are just at the beginning of what God will do in
the next several years with emerging technologies.
Beyond evangelism, we expanded our discipleship
offerings to now include systematic studies on an
e-learning platform so that progress can be measured
and tracked by the individual new believer. However,
our goal is to get each new believer into a church or
Christian movement regardless of the country they
live in. For example, in Brazil we now have over 275
on-line missionaries operating in a coalition of 27
churches across that nation.
Expansion caused a move to commercial offce
space this year in Silicon Valley, where among
other things, we built a green screen studio to begin
production of video and TV content. In 2011, we will
begin live broadcasts from GMO Studios. Imagine,
as (Internet based) TV will soon become interactive,
how results will improve. What we observe is that
Christianity is exploding across the world while in
the United States spiritual hunger is overwhelming!
One of the most important strategic alliances
developed this year has been with Joni and Friends
giving Christians living with a disability, some who
cannot get out of a room on their own strength, the
opportunity to share their faith in a different country
every morning. Take a moment to see Sarah Coiner,
who in spite of living with cerebral palsy does
exactly that: www.bit.ly/SarahGMO.
We see a challenging yet great year ahead as we
continue the development of our multiple commu-
nication platforms to reach rural, isolated people in
developing nations. We will also continue to build
greater capacity through social networking in global
metropolitan centers.
Our God given vision remains the same: To give
everyone on earth multiple opportunities to
accept Jesus Christ by 2020. As you consider
kingdom investment you can give a person
anywhere on earth the opportunity to accept Jesus
Christ for just 10 cents.
Matthew records a very interesting conversation
between the disciples and the Lord regarding His
return. Tell us, they said, when will this happen, and
what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of
the age? Jesus said: ... this gospel of the kingdom
will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to
all nations, and then the end will come. Matt 24 (NIV)
I believe that our generation has been given the
technology, the opportunity, and the calling to be the
generation of the Great Commission. Never before
in history have we seen an opportunity like this. We
cannot let it pass. We invite you to join the ranks of
thousands of GMO online missionaries across the
world by simply going to http://www.GMOjoinus.com.

Focused on sharing Gods word
When Doug Coyle laughs, he laughs with all the power
in his lungs; he holds back none of his joy for the Lord.
At age 58, Doug gives tours at the King Center in
Atlanta, GA, a national historic site dedicated to the
legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He uses his lung
power to play the saxophone in his church worship
band. Doug also shares the gospel every day with
seekers as an Online Missionary with Global Media
Outreach. And did I mention that Doug is blind?
Diagnosed as a infant with Retinopathy of Prematurity,
Doug has been blind all his life. Doug was born two and
a half months premature, and the treatment that was
meant to help his underdeveloped lungs permanently
damaged his eyes. Doug is now helped by his guide
dog, Orvis, a yellow lab. Doug has been blessed with
a wife, four children and 11 grandchildren. Doug says
being an Online Missionary is an ideal ministry for
him, and that his blindness does not hinder his work of
sharing the gospel online.
Being blind is not the primary thing about my life, Doug
said. Its not relevant to my work as a missionary; what
is important is my knowledge of the Scripture. I only
think about my blindness when I have to. As a Christian
of 35 years and former Bible college student, Doug
studies the Word regularly. He has been involved in
street ministry and door-to-door evangelism. However,
Doug says those efforts were not very fruitful. Dougs
blindness makes transportation diffcult for him, and he
began to feel discouraged and unable to serve, despite
his training and heart for the lost. I feel like I havent
ever been able to do very much for the Lord, Doug
said. Id like to go out witnessing more, but its hard.
One year ago, Dougs hopes for a suitable ministry were
fulflled. Doug learned about GMO at his church. Doug
knew this was the ministry he had been searching for:
a way to use his knowledge of the Bible and share the
love of Christ with people all over the world right from
his living room.
He completed Online Missionary training in September
2009, and now is thankful for the opportunity to share
Gods plan of salvation with people. Doug says his work
as an Online Missionary is about casting bread upon
the water (Ecclesiastes 11). Doug focuses on sharing
Gods Word with those who he is in contact with, and
he trusts the Lord with the results. Doug also aims to
connect both seekers and believers to their local church.
Hes especially excited when he gets to share the
Gospel with those living in sensitive countries, where
the government is hostile to Christianity.
I remember Brother Andrew, a Dutch man who carried
Bibles illegally into Communist countries during the
Cold War, Doug said. Now, the internet has made it
possible to get the gospel to people in those countries,
and their neighbors and governments never have to
know as they sit in their apartment and learn about
Christ. Doug is blind, but the Lord has opened Dougs
eyes to the truth of the gospel and
of His goodness. Now, as an Online
Missionary, Doug is able to help open
the eyes of people who have never
seen the Lord and lead them to the
cross. This allows me to participate
in building the Kingdom. Im stacking
up more rewards in heaven! Doug
says, with another hearty laugh.
Opening Our Eyes to Online Missions

Where is the new mission eId?
According to Pew Internets May 2010 survey,
79% of American adults use the internet. Ninety-
four percent are sending and receiving email.
Thirty-two percent are searching for religious or
spiritual information.
The new mission feld is in your home. The
nternet has redefned economies and created
new rules. The secular world has learned that
it can react in one of two ways: live in denial
and ignore it, or leverage it to an advantage
to create new and highly successful business
models. Likely your church has a program to
bring children to Christ and disciple them through
the church. But how are you reaching the people
in your community and the world that dont go
to church, may have never been to church and
havent heard of your church in particular?
Jesus said, And this gospel of the kingdom shall
be preached in all the world for a witness unto all
nations; and then shall the end come. (Matthew
24:14). Preaching the gospel to all the world
has historically been viewed as one person being
in front of another person or perhaps a group.
But we are fast approaching an entirely new
world where preaching to all the world has
become an electronic reality. Every desktop,
cellphone, iPad, etc, will enable the gospel to be
available to the entire world, just as Jesus said
it would be. It is easy to think that online evan-
gelism, done in the safety of the home or offce,
is not real evangelism. But anyone sharing the
Gospel online has a very vital and real ministry.
How many peopIe are on the Internet now?
The growth of the Internet in global communica-
tions technology is unprecedented. More than
1.9 billion Internet users log-on worldwide. How
can you and your church reach people through
the Internet? Although most Christian websites,
bookstores and churches have all the informa-
tion on the Gospel, they dont always have
a way to respond back to those seeking. Yet
Myth #1
People dont search for spiritual
things online.
Truth
Millions of people each day
conduct spiritual searches online.
Although we must assume
that these relate to all types of
religions, we have seen huge
response to the gospel message
online with thousands of people
each day indicating a decision to
follow Jesus.
The World of Online Missions
13
millions of people each day do a search on the
Internet for a spiritual term. People are seeking
answers. And they are looking for those
answers on the Internet.
The focus of internet evangelism is to effec-
tively reach the diverse range of Internet
users, including but in no way limited to teens,
college students, women, men, business
leaders, government and military audiences,
and executive leadership in multiple languages.
Currently, there are few purely evangelistic
websites. Some examples are:
http://www.Jesus2020.com and
http://www.MarriageandGod.com
Sites that simply present the Gospel are
achieving outstanding results. Why? Seekers
are reaching those sites as they go on their own
spiritual journey using Internet search engines.
How can you be sure the Internet is
working to reach peopIe for Christ?
Internet results are measurable on a minute-
to-minute basis. Traffc to every website can be
monitored regularly. And since, in many cases, a
response indicating a decision to receive Christ
includes an email address, a trained volunteer
can actually follow-up through email with the new
believer. Global Media Outreach is a pioneer
in developing a model to meet seekers at their
point of need, present them with the gospel
and follow-up through an online volunteer and
discipleship materials. For GMO, tracking and
accountability is essential, but the ministry has
gone even further than simple online tracking.
Conducting surveys each year to people who
have a made a decision at least six months
prior, GMO is tracking the results of spiritual
growth. In addition, GMOs model includes
tracking of activity on its discipleship websites
so that volunteers can see how their contacts
are progressing.
Myth #2
You have to be trained in theology
to share the gospel online
Truth
Our online missionaries have
debunked this one. With an online
Bible, time to pray about the
response, a database with answers
and scriptures to almost any
question AND a Community Leader
backing you up, Christians with all
levels of Bible knowledge can share
with others online.
14
How does onIine evangeIism work?
Search engines have replaced the phone book,
encyclopedias and often the library as a source of
information. Typing in a word on any subject brings
up a list of (hopefully) relevant websites. When the
person goes to one of these sites where a gospel
message is presented, they can experience that
message through audio, text or even video.
These sites have a button that the person can
click on to fll out a form indicating their decision.
That form generates an email that a volunteer
can respond to and begin to open a dialogue
with the seeker. Comments and questions on
the form range from what do I do now to I
still have questions to can you help me with a
diffcult issue.
At Global Media Outreach websites, for example,
more than 40,000 people a day are indicating
decisions for Christ. So many emails are coming
in that the ministry is actively seeking volunteer
responders to answer emails and connect them
with churches. Since the Internet isnt face-
to-face, some may be surprised at the high
numbers. But the very fact that its NOT face-to-
face is why the Internet is so effective at reaching
some people. Some people are uncomfortable
meeting with a Christian, or, for those in closed
countries, they may even fear for their lives! The
sites not only present the gospel, but also provide
a direct connection with a Christian. The next
step is to connect these people to a local church.
Sites such www.GodLife.com provide discipleship
materials and a church fnder for those seekers in
the United States.
Myth #3
You cant be a missionary online
you need to go to the people and
see them face to face.
Truth
With over 5,500 online mission-
aries answering more than 2 million
emails in 2010, this myth has been
debunked. But lets hear it straight
from the people who answer these
emails each day.
One OM told us: For health reasons
I am limited in the ways I can serve
so this is just great for me. I can do
this at any hour, when I feel well,
and am not tied to a roster. I have
enjoyed the privilege of praying for
people all over the world and I am
sure I have grown in the process.
Or how about this comment, I am
thoroughly enjoying this and I have
a made one good friend so far
through doing this. I am a bit shy in
sharing my faith face to face, even
though I have done that before. This
means really frees me up to boldly
share Christ with people. The truth
is online missionaries are sharing
their faith with people all over the
world, every single day, without ever
leaving their home.
The World of Online Missions
15
Connecting to the local church
As a tool for presenting the Gospel, the Internet
is one of the most effcient AND effective. But
presenting the Gospel is only the frst step.
Connecting a new believer or someone who has
recommitted their life to Christ to a local church
is key to helping that person grow as a Christian.
To help grow disciples, Internet evangelism cant
be about a one-time interaction. Discipleship
must refect a process of how people grow as
Christians, providing the tools and resources
to help someone move forward in their journey.
The future is the growth of the local church,
supported by Internet access to content from the
best and brightest thinkers in all of Christianity.
There are so many true personal experiences
that will touch the lives of strangers. Many
people are afraid to bring up spiritual matters
at work or with their friends and family because
they don't feel "qualifed to answer questions
that might come up. Online evangelism can give
them an opportunity to learn how to share their
faith on their own time with online resources to
help when "diffcult questions come up. Chris-
tians have never been better informed, or more
in touch.
Every day, more people look for help. Through
the reach and power of technology, it is now
possible to identify a body of believers in almost
any culture or help new believers begin building
churches in their area.

Myth #4
You dont know who is saying Yes
to Jesus online, so how do you
know it is real?
Truth
Just as in a tent revival, someone
raising their hands doesnt always
mean that Jesus has come into
their life. But because our online
missionaries personally respond to
the emails that come in, we have a
good sense of how many people are
following through on their decision.
Myth #5
I dont know how to use computers
well, so I cant be an online missionary.
Truth
The great thing about the response
system the online missionaries use is
that it is so easy! If you can send an
email, you can share your faith online.
We have online missionaries of all
ages, all walks of life and all technical
skill levels. But the key is not the
system, it is in the sharing with others.
16
Sharing Jesus Online
Northland A Church Distributed, located in
the greater Orlando area, breaks the traditional
concept of church. Their new church building was
constructed in 2007, and with more than 160,000
square feet of space, serves as a distribution
point rather than a destination, facilitating ministry
worldwide with other believers. Congregants
worship at multiple sites throughout Central
Florida, where they connect with neighboring
Christians for support and encouragement and to
better serve their communities. Each weekend,
these sites are joined in concurrent worship. A
two-way video connection allows different parts of
the services to be distributed among the sites and
gives congregants opportunities to interact with
one another in real time.
For the past year, Northland has been working
with Global Media Outreach (GMO) to provide
Internet evangelism in the discipleship process of
new believers so they can be the church wherever
they are. More than 250 online missionaries from
Northland connect with seekers from around the
world. The online missionary program ties into
the existing Northland vision of serving people
through the Internet. Part of the Northland culture
is technology-driven, so the GMO model for online
missionaries was a great ft.
At the beginning of the program, Northland
Pastor Dr. Joel C. Hunter provided two orientation
meetings for the congregation, and also broadcast
them live on the Internet. These meetings were
key to making the implementation successful.
Northland was able to cast a vision for its people,
building enthusiasm and community, which has
been important to the continuation of the program.
Additionally, some of Northlands community
leaders have gathered their online missionary
teams together for additional training, social
networking and fellowship.
The relationship between GMO and Northland
has resulted in Northlands online missionaries
learning how to share their faith and answer
tough questions in an environment where they
can research it. They are gaining skills, says
Dan Lacich, Northland pastor for distributed sites.
"Confdence in dealing with evangelism and apolo-
getics type of questions has really gone up. The
encouragement they have of maybe we really are
winning, really helps them see how many people
are coming to Jesus enthusiasm and coura-
geousness is amazing. It broadens some peoples
world view. People who have never done ministry
now feel like they have a ministry that is brand new
for them.
The online missionary program at Northland
includes a vision to expand with partner churches,
making resources available online so people can
be the church anywhere. Northlands goal is for
anybody who comes to Christ to be able to become
the church. Northland is working to get the top
15 language groups with multiple churches doing
online ministry and connecting with GMO to start
churches wherever they are.

Global Media Outreach A Model for Online Missions:
Research has shown that millions of people search the Internet every day for God, spiritual guidance
and hope. GMO is using this tool to bring the Good News of Jesus to anyone with access to the World
Wide Web. GMO began building a model for online evangelism, discipleship and connection back in
2004 with a site called Passion of the Christ and from there created websites in multiple languages,
interest areas and events.

Evangelism:
Each day, millions of people go online searching for spiritual help. They are people in crisis: facing loneliness,
addictions, suicide, abuse, divorce, hopelessness. GMO is dedicated to make sure they fnd the truth in Jesus.
With nowhere to turn, people are turning to the nternet in astonishing numbers trying to fll the emptiness
inside. Christians need to be there to meet them at their crossroads when they are most ready to listen. The
work of GMO begins when seekers fnd one of GMO's different websites (usually through a search engine, like
Google), which are in 14 major Internet trade languages. Here, visitors are exposed to the Gospel.

Response:
Thousands of people each day indicate decisions
for Christ through GMO after experiencing the
Gospel through text, video and audio. In 2004,
GMO saw more than 21,000 people indicate a
decision for Jesus and in 2010 crossed the 15
million decision mark.
Through its unique response system, volun-
teers called Online Missionaries are able
to reply quickly to the thousands of emails
GMO receives daily. The system monitors
and stores responses, then provides a tiered
system for community leaders to manage the
online missionaries in their community. It is
a trackable, safe, anonymous environment for
both visitors and responders to begin a personal
connection and dialogue about God.
Then the conversation continues through the
work of online missionaries who follow-up with the
sites visitors that request help. Whether someone
has just accepted Christ, rededicated their life
to God or still has questions, GMO can provide
prayer, guidance and discipleship through these
online missionaries.
Whether an individual is a pastor, retiree or a
stay-at-home mom, any believer with a heart to
reach people searching for Christ can become
an online missionary. Through GMO, online
missionaries are educated and trained to meet
the increasing requests for knowledge about
God. The GMO system provides training, online
resources for online missionaries to use when
answering questions and the option to reassign
emails to someone who can better answer a
question, if needed.

Church Online Missions Program:
GMO needs tens of thousands of Online Mission-
aries (OMs) to respond to those asking for help.
GMO recognizes that the church plays a vital role
in online missions and connection. The Church
Online Missions Program provides an incredible
opportunity for churches to extend their evan-
gelism and missions programs to help fulfll the
Great Commission.
Seldom does a local church have the opportunity
to reach this many people for Christ. As a result of
their experience, Online Missionaries have shared
that they have grown in faith, prayer life and have
more confdence to share the Good News with
seekers from around the world. While the primary
role of our church partners is discipleship, GMO
offers churches the opportunity to participate in
expanding the evangelism reach of the ministry.
Each gospel presentation made through GMO sites
carries with it an investment of 10 cents. For every
100 presentations, approximately 13 people may
indicate a decision for Christ.
GMO has more than 100 churches already
implementing online missions programs with
their congregations.

Discipleship:
Online resources are also available so new
believers can continue to learn about God and
about how to begin walking in their faith. GMO offers
online Bible studies, links to local church communi-
ties and websites with next steps for the journey.
GMOs discipleship offerings now include systematic
studies through e-learning so that progress can
be measured and tracked by the individual new
believer. Each year, GMO also conducts surveys of
people 6 months after they make a decision to help
track their spiritual growth. Results make it clear that
spiritual growth and maturity is happening with these
new and recommitting believers. However, our goal
is to get them into a church or Christian movement
regardless of the country they live in. Our on the
ground progress includes local GMO communica-
tions centers springing up in various countries. For
example, in Brazil we now have over 275 online
missionaries operating in a coalition of 27 churches.
With the launch of GodLife.com in 2011, GMOs
discipleship offerings are expanding to include
connection through social media and an online
community for worship, prayer, discipleship content
and music.
