The Power of the Jesus Story 1 Thessalonians

1 Thess 1:3 We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thess 3:6 But Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love.

SOW WHAT? Take some time to think about the time right after you responded to the gospel. Are there things that once characterized your life as an excited new Christ follower that are no longer there?

1 Thess 1:3 FAITH constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love

1 Thess 1:9-10 turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God,

LOVE HOPE

and steadfastness of hope in our Lord and to wait for His Son from heaven, Jesus Christ in the whom He raised presence of our from the dead, that God and Father, is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.

1 Thessalonians 3:6-9 6 But Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love. He has told us that you always have pleasant memories of us and that you long to see us, just as we also long to see you. 7 Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. 8 For now we really live, since you are standing rm in the Lord. 9 How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?

1 Thessalonians 3:10 Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith.

1 Thessalonians 3:11-12 11 Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. 12 May the Lord make your love increase and overow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. 13 May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

1. An opportunity to go be with them [relates to their faith] 1 Thessalonians 2:18 For we wanted to come to youcertainly I, Paul, did, again and againbut Satan blocked our way. 2. That they would increase and overow with love for others [relates to their love] 3. That they would be strengthened in their hearts to be blameless and holy at Christs return [relates to their hope]
