1 INTRODUO
A Organizao Mundial da Sade (WHO, 2001) relata que os
problemas advindos do rudo no so recentes. Na antiga Roma o barulho
das rodas de ferro das carroas sobre os pavimentos de pedra perturbava o
sono e incomodavam tanto as cidades que se criaram leis para controlar o
transito. Algumas cidades da Europa Medieval proibiram o trafego de
carruagens e cavalos para proteger o sono de seus habitantes (WHO, 2001).
A partir dos anos 50, com a revoluo industrial, o
desenvolvimento tecnolgico propiciou o surgimento de automveis,
mquinas para indstrias, avies e consequentemente o rudo gerado
tornou-se um dos principais problemas do mundo moderno (WHO, 2001).
Estima-se que 120 milhes de pessoas no mundo tem
problemas de audio devido exposio ao rudo. Somente nos USA, em
1990, estima-se que 30 milhes de pessoas so diariamente expostas a
nveis de rudo acima de 85 dB, sendo que 9 milhes a mais do que no ano
de 1981. Na Alemanha, em 2001, cerca de 12 a 15 % dos trabalhadores so
expostos a nveis de rudos de 85 dB ou mais, onde 20 % destes relataram
perda de audio; somente no ano de 1993 aproximadamente 12.500 novos
casos foram registrados (WHO, 2001).
Segundo a Ordem de Servio n 608 do INSS, a exposio a
nveis elevados de presso sonora pode causar perdas auditivas
irreversveis e outros danos sade em geral, tornando-se imprescindvel
sua reduo e controle. Portanto, todo esforo deve ser realizado para que
ambientes de trabalho expostos sejam adequados ao homem (INSS, 1998).
A atividade de dirigir caminhes, muitas vezes, exercida em
ambientes insalubres, em razo das condies as quais lhes so impostas,

2.1 - O SOM E O RUDO
O som um fenmeno vibratrio resultante de variaes de
presso do ar (FERNANDES, 2009). So ondas mecnicas que se
propagam longitudinalmente e no necessitam de meio fsico de
propagao. caracterizado pelas variveis fsicas: frequncia, intensidade
e timbre.
No entanto, nem todas ondas mecnicas so perceptveis ao
ouvido humano, somente as que possuem frequncia entre 20 e 20.000 Hz
produzem estmulos auditivos no ser humano. a chamada banda audvel
(FERNANDES, 2009).
Existem sons que so desagradveis ou insalubres, so
chamados de rudo. Atualmente, o rudo tornou-se um dos agentes mais
nocivos sade, sendo responsvel por uma srie de alteraes auditivas
(NETO, 2001).
Valle (1975) relatou que rudos so sons desagradveis e
indesejveis, podendo ser causa de inmeros transtornos e atingindo, em
casos extremos, o equilbrio metablico do ser humano com todas as
consequncias que possam da advir.
Dias et al. (2006) relata que o rudo o agente fsico nocivo
mais comum encontrado no ambiente de trabalho e constitui-se em um
agravo sade dos trabalhadores em todo mundo.

3 - MATERIAIS E MTODOS
A metodologia utilizada para avaliar o risco auditivo dos
motoristas de caminhes consiste em duas partes: medio dos nveis de
rudo dentro das cabines dos caminhes e avaliao audiomtrica dos
motoristas.
3.1 - MATERIAIS
a) Dosmetro Pessoal de Rudo Da Marca Instrutherm, Modelo DOS500 (Figura 02), com as seguintes caractersticas e especificaes, a seguir:

4 RESULTADOS OBTIDOS
A Tabela 03 mostra os resultados obtidos da medies
realizadas informando tambm o modelo do veculo medido, idade da frota,
alm do perodo o qual se realizou as medies e o respectivo valor da dose
a qual o motorista foi submetido. Informa tambm o valor de exposio
projetado para o perodo de 8 (oito) horas (TWA) em porcentagem de dose e
dB(A).

6 CONCLUSES
Os nveis de rudo so apresentados na Tabela 03 e observase que o valor da Dose para o perodo de trabalho de 8 horas (TWA), na
maioria dos caminhes, foi inferior ao recomendado pela NR-15, anexo I,
que de 85 dB(A), porm observa-se que durante o perodo de leitura de
dados, alguns caminhes ultrapassaram esses limites.
Na anlise da perda auditiva dos motoristas, as figuras 05, 06 e
07, demonstram que 56,82% dos motoristas possuem Pair (perda auditiva
induzida por rudo), onde 50,00% apresentam Pair na orelha esquerda e
47,73% na orelha direita.
Observou-se que a Perda Auditiva Induzida por Rudo (Pair)
aumenta com a da idade dos motoristas.
Conclui-se tambm que quanto maior da idade da frota maior o
nvel de rudo ao qual o motorista submetido.
