PRECAUCIONES DE SEGURIDAD
Al utilizar aparatos elctricos se deben acatar un nmero de precauciones de seguridad bsicas, tales como: Antes de iniciar su utilizacin, este frigorfico debe instalarse y ubicarse correctamente de acuerdo con las Instrucciones de Instalacin. Tambin vea la seccin Cmo conectar la electricidad. No permita que los nios se suban o se cuelguen de los estantes del frigorfico. Podran daarlo y recibir heridas graves. No toque las superficies fras del compartimento del congelador si tiene las manos hmedas o mojadas. Su piel podra quedar adherida a estas superficies extremadamente fras. No almacene o use gasolina u otros vapores o lquidos inflamables cerca de este u otros aparatos elctricos. En los frigorficos con dispositivos automticos para hacer hielo, evite cualquier tipo de contacto con las piezas mviles del mecanismo eyector, o con el elemento de calefaccin ubicado en la parte inferior del dispositivo para hacer hielo. No toque este ltimo mecanismo mientras el frigorfico est enchufado. La instalacin del dispositivo para hacer hielo debe realizarla un tcnico calificado. Mantenga los dedos fuera de las "reas de pellizco"; los espacios entre las puertas y entre las puertas y el cuerpo del frigorfico son necesariamente pequeos. Tenga cuidado al cerrar las puertas cuando haya nios cerca. Desenchufe el frigorfico antes de limpiarlo y de hacer cualquier clase de reparacin. NOTA: Ante la necesidad de llevar a cabo alguna clase de reparacin, recomendamos enrgicamente que un tcnico calificado sea el encargado de realizarla. Antes de reemplazar una bombilla de luz quemada, el frigorfico debe desenchufarse a fin de evitar el contacto con un filamento con corriente elctrica. (Una bombilla de luz quemada puede romperse mientras se la reemplaza). NOTA: Aunque la configuracin de los dos controles se encuentre en 0 (apagado) todava hay electricidad en el circuito de la luz. No vuelva a congelar alimentos que se hayan descongelado por completo.
ELIMINACIN ADECUADA DEL ANTIGUO FRIGORFICO

El riesgo de que los nios queden atrapados dentro del frigorfico y sufran asfixia no son problemas del pasado. Los frigorficos desechados o abandonados siguen siendo peligrosos an cuando se los deje all "slo por unos das." Si desea deshacerse de su antiguo frigorfico, tenga la amabilidad de seguir las siguientes instrucciones afn de prevenir accidentes.
Refrigerantes
Todos los aparatos de refrigeracin contienen refrigerantes, los cuales se deben retirar antes de la eliminacin del producto de acuerdo con la ley. Si va a desechar algn aparato antiguo de refrigeracin, consulte con su Ayuntamiento. Este electrodomstico no est diseado para ser utilizado por personas con capacidades fsicas, sensoriales o mentales limitadas (nios incluidos), o que carezcan de la experiencia y el conocimiento necesarios, a menos que estn supervisados por una persona encargada de velar por su seguridad o hayan sido instruidas en la utilizacin del electrodomstico. Supervise a los nios para asegurarse de que no juegan con el aparato.
Antes de desechar su antiguo frigorfico:

Quite las puertas y deschelas en forma separada. Deje los estantes en su lugar para que a los nios les resulte difcil encerrarse en el frigorfico.

CMO CONECTAR LA ELECTRICIDAD
Si el cable de alimentacin sufre algn tipo de dao, un representante del Servicio de Asistencia Tcnica de FAGOR debe reemplazarlo a fin de evitar un riesgo para la seguridad. Nunca desenchufe el frigorfico tirando del cable de alimentacin. Siempre tome con firmeza el enchufe del frigorfico y retrelo de la toma de corriente de la pared. Repare o reemplace inmediatamente todos los cables de alimentacin que se hayan desgastado o daado. Nunca utilice un cable que tenga daos por abrasin en toda su extensin o en los extremos del mismo. Cuando aleje el frigorfico de la pared, asegrese de no aplastar o daar el cable de alimentacin.

Los controles de temperatura.
Controles de ajuste externos (0-9)
Los controles de la temperatura vienen preconfigurados de fbrica a 5 para los compartimientos del frigorfico y del congelador. Para ajustar la temperatura, pulse el botn "+" (ms caliente) o "-" (ms fro) en el lateral del congelador o del frigorfico. La luz de ajuste se encender. Pulse "+" (ms caliente) o "-" (ms fro) hasta alcanzar el ajuste deseado. Puede que sea necesario hacer varios ajustes. Cada vez que usted que usted ajuste los controles, deje pasar 24 horas desde el ajuste para que el frigorfico alcance el ajuste que usted ha seleccionado. Ajustar uno o ambos controles en 0 (apagado), detiene la refrigeracin tanto en el compartimento del frigorfico como en el del congelador, pero no interrumpe el suministro elctrico del frigorfico. Las configuraciones de los controles pueden variar dependiendo de las preferencias personales, uso y condiciones de funcionamiento, y pueden requerir ms de un ajuste. NOTA: El frigorfico se enva con una pelcula de proteccin que cubre los controles de la temperatura. Si esta pelcula no se retir durante la instalacin, hgalo ahora.
Lmites de temperatura ambiente en el entorno.

Este frigorfico est diseado para funcionar en las temperaturas ambientales que se especifican en el Rango de Temperatura indicado en la placa de datos. NOTA: La temperatura interna puede verse afectada por factores como la ubicacin del aparato, la temperatura ambiente y la frecuencia con que se abren las puertas. Ajuste los controles de temperatura segn lo requiera a fin de compensar estos factores.
El filtro de agua.
Instalar el cartucho del filtro
El cartucho del filtro de agua est ubicado en la esquina superior derecha trasera del compartimento del frigorfico. 3. Alinee la flecha del cartucho con el soporte del cartucho. Coloque la parte superior del nuevo cartucho hacia arriba dentro del soporte. No empuje el cartucho hacia arriba a dentro del soporte. 4. Gire el cartucho lentamente hacia la derecha hasta que el cartucho se pare. NO APRETAR MUY FUERTE. Mientras est girndolo, ste se alzar por s mismo en su posicin. El cartucho girar aproximadamente 1/2 de vuelta. 5. Deje correr el agua desde el dispensador durante 5 minutos para aclarar el sistema y para prevenir salpicaduras. NOTA: Un cartucho del filtro del agua recin instalado podra causar prdida de agua desde dispensador.
Cuando se debe reemplazar el filtro?

En el dispensador hay una luz de indicacin de recambio del cartucho del filtro del agua. Cuando esta luz se vuelva anaranjada estar indicando que el cartucho debe ser reemplazado pronto. El cartucho del filtro debera reemplazarse cuando la luz indicadora de recambio se vuelva roja o en el caso de que disminuya el flujo de agua al dispensador o al dispositivo para hacer hielo.
Extraccin del cartucho de filtrado

Si va a sustituir el cartucho, en primer lugar extraiga el cartucho viejo girndolo hacia la izquierda. No tire del cartucho hacia abajo. Puede que caiga un poco de agua. Instalar el cartucho del filtro 1. Hay un adaptador acoplado a la parte superior del nuevo cartucho de filtrado. El adaptador debe extraerse antes de la instalacin del cartucho. Para extraer el adaptador, grelo a la izquierda aproximadamente un cuarto de vuelta. 2. Llene el cartucho de recambio con agua del grifo para que haya un mejor flujo de agua desde el dispensador inmediatamente despus de la instalacin.
Tapn de derivacin del filtro

Se debe usar el tapn de derivacin del filtro cuando no se dispone de un cartucho de filtro de recambio. El dispensador y el dispositivo para hacer hielo no pueden funcionar sin el filtro o sin el tapn de derivacin del filtro.
Soporte de cartucho
Ponga la parte superior del cartucho hacia arriba dentro del soporte del cartucho y grelo lentamente hacia la derecha.
Filtros de recambio: Para pedir cartuchos adicionales, pngase contacto con el distribuidor local.

Puertas del frigorfico
Es posible que Ud. note una diferencia entre el manejo de las puertas de su antiguo y nuevo frigorfico. La caracterstica especial de abertura y cierre de las puertas asegura que estas cierren por completo y permanezcan selladas firmemente. Cuando Ud. abra o cierre las puertas, notar una posicin de tope de parada. Si la puerta es abierta ms all de este punto, permanecer abierta permitindole as meter y sacar alimentos del frigorfico con ms facilidad. La puerta se cierra automticamente slo cuando se abre parcialmente. La resistencia que Ud. puede notar en la posicin de tope de parada es menor a medida que la puerta es cargada con alimentos.

Estantes y recipientes del frigorfico.

No todos los modelos tienen todas las caractersticas.
Recipientes de la puerta del frigorfico y recipientes abatibles de la puerta de congelador

Recipientes grandes Los recipientes de la puerta del frigorfico y los recipientes abatibles de la puerta de congelador ms grandes son ajustables. Para extraerlos: Levante la parte frontal del recipiente hacia arriba, a continuacin levntelo y squelo. Para reemplazarlos o reubicarlos: Ajuste la parte trasera del recipiente en los soportes moldeados de la puerta. A continuacin, presione hacia abajo en la parte frontal del recipiente. El recipiente se ajustar en su sitio. Recipientes pequeos Para extraerlos: Levante la parte frontal del recipiente hacia arriba y squelo. Para reemplazarlos: Site el recipiente por encima de los soportes moldeados rectangulares de la puerta. El estante deslizable permite alcanzar artculos guardados detrs de otros. Los bordes especiales estn diseados para ayudar a prevenir derramamientos o goteos a los estantes que se encuentran ms abajo. Para sacarlos: Deslice el estante hacia fuera hasta que llegue al tope; a continuacin, presione la lengeta hacia abajo y deslice el estante directamente hacia fuera. Para reemplazarlos o reubicarlos: Site el estante a la altura de las guas y deslcelo hacia su lugar. El estante puede ser reubicado cuando la puerta est a 90 o ms. Para reubicar el estante, deslice el estante ms all de los topes y dele un ngulo hacia abajo. Deslice el estante hacia abajo hasta llegar a la posicin deseada, colquelo en lnea con los soportes y deslcelo en su lugar. Asegrese de haber empujado los estantes hasta el fondo antes de cerrar la puerta.
Presione la lengeta y tire del estante atrs para sacarlo.
Estante bebidas en la puerta

Este estante sostiene hasta 5 latas. Los estantes cuelgan de los lados de la seccin de productos lcteos. Para remover: 1. Vace el estante de vino/bebidas. 2. Sosteniendo el fondo de la seccin de productos lcteos, levante el frente directamente hacia arriba, entonces levante y extraiga. 3. Para separar el estante de la seccin de productos lcteos, extraiga los alambres laterales del estante por los agujeros en cada lado de la seccin de productos lcteos. Para reemplazar: 1. Pegue otra vez el estante a los lados de la seccin de productos lcteos. 2. Encaje el lado posterior en los apoyos moldeados en la puerta. Luego empuje hacia abajo en el frente de la seccin. La seccin encajar en su lugar.
Estantes y recipientes del frigorfico.

Cestas hondas del congelador

Para remover, empuje la cesta totalmente hacia la parte posterior del congelador. Levante hasta que los pasadores posteriores sean desenganchados. Levante la cesta completa hacia arriba y hacia afuera. PRECAUCIN: Si las cestas del congelador no se usan, ste podra presentar un funcionamiento defectuoso. Guardar artculos en el congelador sin hacer uso de las cestas podra causar un funcionamiento de la temperatura defectuoso debido a las restricciones de la corriente de aire dentro del compartimento del congelador.
Cestas del congelador

Para sacarlas, deslcelas hasta que lleguen a la posicin tope, levante la parte posterior hasta sobrepasar la posicin tope y deslcelas hacia afuera. Asegrese de haber empujado las cestas hasta el fondo antes de cerrar la puerta. PRECAUCIN: Si las cestas del congelador no se usan, ste podra presentar un funcionamiento defectuoso. Guardar artculos en el congelador sin hacer uso de las cestas podra causar un funcionamiento de la temperatura defectuoso debido a las restricciones de la corriente de aire dentro del compartimento del congelador.
Estantes deslizantes del congelador

Para sacarlos, deslcelos hasta que lleguen a la posicin tope, levante la parte posterior hasta sobrepasar la posicin tope y deslcelos hacia afuera. Asegrese de haber empujado los estantes hasta el fondo antes de cerrar la puerta.
Estantes fijos del congelador

Hay dos tipos de estantes fijos del congelador. Para remover este estilo de estante: 1. Levante el estante del lado izquierdo. 2. Extrigalo.
Para remover este estilo de estante: 1. Levante el lado izquierdo del estante y deslcelo hacia la izquierda en el centro de los estantes de apoyo. 2. Gire el lado derecho del estante hacia arriba y hacia afuera de los estantes de apoyo.
El compartimento del congelador.

Cmo llenar el congelador
Llnelo de forma que quede un espacio libre de, al menos, 15 mm entre los paquetes y 25 mm de espacio entre la parte superior de cualquier paquete y el estante o la cesta situado sobre del mismo. Los paquetes pueden colgar por fuera de la parte posterior de los estantes, pero debern mantener una distancia de unos 15 mm con las puertas. Los alimentos a congelar no debe ponerse en contacto directo con la comida almacenada. Si necesita congelar productos cada da, puede que sea necesario reducir la cantidad a congelar. Si necesita congelar una cantidad elevada de alimentos, ajuste el control del congelador a su posicin mxima. Una vez que el producto haya sido congelado, vuelva a ajustar el control del congelador a su posicin inicial. La comida se congela ms rpidamente en los tres estantes del centro del compartimento del congelador, y ms lentamente en los estantes de la puerta del congelador. No almacene comida rpida congelada durante ms tiempo del recomendado por sus fabricantes. Si el electrodomstico se desconectara durante un perodo extenso de tiempo o si se produjera un fallo en el sistema refrigerador, no abra las puertas a menos que sea absolutamente necesario. Cuando lo haga, cirrelas enseguida para que la comida congelada permanezca en dicho estado el mayor tiempo posible. Los estantes de las puertas del congelador marcados con una etiqueta de dos estrellas slo deben almacenar alimentos previamente congelados. Las bebidas gaseosas no deben guardarse en el congelador.

Cajones y recipientes.
Cajones para frutas y vegetales

El exceso de agua que pueda acumularse en el fondo de los cajones debe secarse. En algunos modelos, el cajn de abajo tiene una tapa que se desliza hacia atrs cuando se abre el cajn. Esto permite un acceso completo al mismo. Cuando el cajn se cierra, la tapa se deslizar hacia adelante volviendo a su posicin original.
Cajones con humedad ajustable

Deslice el control hasta llegar a la posicin (alto) para proporcionar el alto nivel de humedad recomendado para la mayora de los vegetales. Deslice el control hasta llegar a la posicin (bajo) para proporcionar el nivel de baja humedad recomendado para la mayora de las frutas.
Cmo retirar los cajones.

Como retirar los cajones

Pueden extraerse fcilmente los cajones superiores y tirando de ellos hasta llegar al punto donde se detienen. Si no puede quitar los cajones a causa de la puerta, primero trate de sacar las bandejas de la puerta. Si esto no proporciona el espacio necesario, se necesitar hacer rodar el frigorfico hacia adelante hasta que la puerta se abra lo bastante para deslizar los cajones hasta que puedan retirarse. En algunos casos, cuando se hace rodar el frigorfico hacia adelante, se necesitar moverlo hacia la izquierda o derecha al mismo tiempo. Para retirar el cajn: 1. Tire del cajn hacia afuera hasta la posicin mxima. 2. Gire los cuatro cierres hasta la posicin de apertura. 3. Levante el frente del cajn y tire hacia afuera. Para reinstalar el cajn: 1. Asegrese de que los cuatro cierres estn en la posicin de apertura. 2. Coloque los lados del cajn en los apoyos del cajn, cerciorndose de que los cierres ajustan en las ranuras. 3. Bloquee los cierres girndolos hasta la posicin de bloqueo.

Dispositivo automtico para hacer hielo.

Un frigorfico recin instalado puede tardar de 12 a 24 horas antes de empezar a hacer hielo.
Dispositivo automtico para hacer hielo

El dispositivo para hacer hielo producir siete cubitos por ciclo, aproximadamente de 100 a 130 cubitos en un ciclo de 24 horas, dependiendo de la temperatura del congelador, de la temperatura ambiente, del nmero de veces que se abra la puerta y de otras condiciones del uso. Para acceder a la mquina de hielo, tire del estante situado sobre el cajn del hielo directamente hacia fuera. Asegrese siempre de volver a colocar el estante. Si el frigorfico est en funcionamiento antes de que se haga la conexin de agua al dispositivo para hacer hielo, coloque el interruptor de alimentacin elctrica en la posicin O (apagado). Cuando el frigorfico est conectado al suministro de agua, coloque el interruptor de alimentacin elctrica en la posicin l (encendido). Escuchar un zumbido cada vez que el dispositivo para hacer hielo se llene de agua. El dispositivo para hacer hielo se llenar de agua cuando la temperatura alcance el punto de 10C. Un frigorfico recin instalado puede necesitar entre 12 y 24 horas para empezar a hacer hielo. Deseche las primeras cargas de cubitos de hielo para permitir que la lnea de agua se limpie. Asegrese de que nada impide el movimiento del brazo detector. Cuando el recipiente est lleno (al nivel del brazo detector), el dispositivo para hacer hielo no producir ms hielo. Es normal que algunos cubitos salgan pegados. Si no se usa hielo con frecuencia, los cubitos de hielo viejos se opacan, adquieren un sabor rancio y se contraen. Si los cubitos de hielo bloquean la mquina de hielos, la luz verde se volver intermitente. Para corregirlo, fije el interruptor de corriente en la posicin O (apagado) y retire los cubitos. Fije el interruptor de corriente en l (encendido) para reiniciar la mquina de hielos. Despus de que la mquina de hielos se haya encendido de nuevo, habr un lapso de unos 45 minutos antes de que la mquina de hielos reinicie la operacin. NOTA: En casas que tengan una presin de agua menor de la normal, es posible que usted escuche la mquina repetir el ciclo varias veces cuando se encuentre haciendo hielo. Para tener acceso al hielo o al interruptor de encendido:
1. Eleve el compartimiento y empjelo hacia delante hasta que se detenga.
Tire de la parrilla superior del congelador hacia afuera para acceder al dispositivo de hacer hielo. Cercirese de reemplazar siempre la parrilla; puede usarse para almacenamiento.
2. Incline el compartimento para acceder al hielo o al interruptor de corriente. NOTA: Para poder aprovechar todas las ventajas del compartimiento inclinable de hielo, en la bandeja situada bajo el compartimento del hielo coloque exclusivamente elementos que no sean ms altos que el punto ms bajo del compartimento.
Cajn de almacenamiento de hielo

Para tener acceso al hielo, tire del cajn hacia delante. Para sacarlo: Ponga el interruptor de alimentacin del dispositivo de hielo en la posicin O (apagado). Tire del cajn directamente hacia fuera y luego levntelo hasta sobrepasar la posicin tope. Para reinstalarlo: Al volver a poner el cajn, asegrese de presionarlo firmemente en su sitio. Si no llega hasta el final, vuelva a sacarlo y gire el mecanismo accionador 1/4 de vuelta. Luego empuje de nuevo el cajn.

Dispensador de agua y hielos. (en algunos modelos)

Para usar el dispensador
Seleccione CUBED (cubitos), CRUSHED (picado) o WATER (agua). Presione el vaso suavemente contra la parte superior de la base del dispensador. El recogedor no se vaca solo. Para evitar las restos de agua, el recogedor y la parrilla se debern limpiar regularmente. Si no se dispensa agua tras la primera instalacin del frigorfico, puede que haya aire en el sistema de conductos de agua. Presione el brazo del dispensador durante al menos dos minutos para eliminar el aire atrapado del conducto de agua y llene el sistema de agua. Para eliminar las impurezas del conducto de agua, tire los primeros seis vasos de agua. PRECAUCION: No introduzca nunca los dedos ni otros objetos en la apertura del dispensador de hielo triturado.
Luz del dispensador

El botn LIGHT (LUZ) enciende y apaga la luz de noche del dispensador. La luz tambin se enciende al presionar la base del dispensador. En algunos modelos, si la bombilla se funde, debe substituirse por una bombilla de 6 Watts y 12 Volts, como mximo.
Alarma de puerta
La alarma de puerta suena si cualquiera de las puertas se mantiene abierta durante ms de 3 minutos. La alarma dejar de sonar tras cerrar la puerta. En los modelos con LCD, aparecer una pantalla emergente. La alarma puede silenciarse tocando la pantalla LCD.
Recogedor
Para bloquear el dispensador Presione el botn LOCK o LOCK CONTROL (control de bloqueo) durante 3 segundos para cerrar el dispensador y el panel de control. Para desbloquearlo, presione de nuevo el mismo botn durante 3 segundos.
Cuidado y limpieza del frigorfico.

Limpiar el exterior
El rea de goteo del dispensador, por debajo de la parrilla, se debe mantener limpia y seca. El agua que se queda en esta rea puede dejar depsitos. En caso que se hubieran depositado restos, quite los mismos agregando vinagre sin diluir en el cavidad. Remoje hasta que desaparezcan los depsitos o hasta que se desprendan lo suficiente para removerlos. El soporte del dispensador. Antes de su limpieza, bloquee el dispensador manteniendo pulsado el botn LOCK (BLOQUEO) o el botn LOCK CONTROLS (BLOQUEO DE CONTROLES) durante 3 segundos. Limpie con una solucin de agua tibia y bicarbonato de sodio, una cucharada (15 ml) de bicarbonato de sodio en un 1 litro de agua. Enjuague bien y seque la unidad. Las jaladeras de puertas y molduras. Se limpian con un pao humedecido con una solucin de detergente suave y agua. Seque con un pao suave. Cuidado y limpieza del frigorfico.

Limpieza del interior
Para evitar olores, deje un envase de bicarbonato de sodio abierto en los compartimientos de alimentos frescos y del congelador. Desconecte el frigorfico antes de limpiarlo. Si esto no es posible, exprima el exceso de humedad de la esponja o del pao cuando se limpie alrededor de botones, bombillas o controles. Utilice una solucin de agua tibia y bicarbonato de sodio, una cucharada (15 ml) de bicarbonato de sodio en un 1 litro de agua. Esta solucin limpia y neutraliza olores. Enjuague y seque. El uso de soluciones de limpieza que no sea la recomendada, especialmente aquellas que contienen destilados de petrleo pueden agrietar o daar el interior del frigorfico. Evite limpiar los estantes de cristal fros con agua caliente, ya que la diferencia extrema de temperaturas puede hacer que se rompan. Maneje los estantes de cristal con cuidado. Golpear el cristal templado puede hacer que se rompa en pedazos. No lave las partes plsticas del frigorfico en lavaplatos. La bandeja de congelacin/descongelacin se puede lavar en lavaplatos.
Parte posterior del frigorfico

Se debe tener cuidado al retirar el frigorfico de la pared. Tire del frigorfico directamente hacia fuera y empuje nuevamente para devolverlo a su posicin. Al colocar de nuevo el frigorfico en su sitio, asegrese de no pasar sobre el cable de corriente ni sobre la lnea de alimentacin del dispositivo para hacer hielos.
Preparacin para vacaciones

En el caso de vacaciones o ausencias prolongadas, retire los alimentos y desenchufe el frigorfico. Limpie el interior con una solucin hecha con 15 ml de bicarbonato de sodio por litro de agua. Deje abiertas las puertas. Coloque el interruptor de alimentacin elctrica del dispositivo para hacer hielos en la posicin O (apagado) y cierre el suministro de agua que alimenta al frigorfico.
En caso de mudanza
Asegure todos los elementos sueltos como entrepaos y recipientes pegndolos con cinta adhesiva en su lugar para evitar daos. Al usar una carretilla para mover el frigorfico, no haga descansar la parte frontal o trasera del frigorfico contra la carretilla. Esto podra daar el frigorfico. RODILLOS
Los rodillos cumplen 3 funciones: Los rodillos se ajustan para hacer que la puerta se cierre con facilidad cuando est abierta aproximadamente a la mitad. (Elevando el frente a una distancia aproximada 16 mm del piso). Los rodillos se ajustan para que el frigorfico quede firmemente asentado sobre el piso y no se tambalee. Los rodillos permiten mover el frigorfico para retirarlo de la pared para su limpieza. Despus de instalar el frigorfico es necesario realizar algunos ltimos ajustes para nivelarlo. Para ajustar los rodillos: 1. Para quitar la parrilla de la base, abra las puertas, retire los tornillos de cada lado y tire de la misma hacia fuera. 2. Gire el rodillo frontal ajustando los tornillos en el sentido de las agujas del reloj para elevar el frigorfico y en el sentido contrario para bajarlo. Use una llave hexagonal de 3/ 8", o una llave de tuercas ajustable. 3. Estos modelos tienen tambin rodillos traseros ajustables para que pueda alinear el frigorfico con sus muebles de cocina. Use una llave de tubo de 5/16" de mango largo para girar los tornillos de los rodillos traseros en sentido de las agujas del reloj para elevar el frigorfico y en el sentido contrario para bajarlo. 4. Reinstale la base de la rejilla.
ALINEACIN DE LAS PUERTAS

Despus de nivelar, asegrese de que la puerta del frigorfico est a 1/16" ms alta que la puerta del congelador. Para emparejar las puertas, ajuste la puerta del frigorfico. 1. Usando una llave de tubo de 7/16", gire el tornillo de ajuste de la puerta hacia la derecha para elevar la puerta; grelo hacia la izquierda para hacerla descender. (Un tapn de nylon est encajado en la rosca de la punta para impedir que sta gire a menos de que se use una llave.) 2. Instrucciones de instalacin CONEXIN A LA TOMA DE AGUA

ANTES DE COMENZAR
Siga estas recomendaciones cuidadosamente para minimizar el riesgo de costosos daos causados por el agua. El agua que suena como un martillo en las tuberas, puede daar algunas partes del frigorfico y tambin causar escapes o inundaciones. Llame a un tcnico calificado para arreglar los problemas de fontanera antes de instalar el suministro de agua para el frigorfico. Si usa el frigorfico antes de que se instale la conexin de agua en el dispositivo para hacer hielo, ponga el interruptor de funcionamiento del mismo, en la posicin O (apagado). No instale el tubo del dispositivo para hacer hielo en sitios en donde la temperatura pudiera descender por debajo del punto de congelacin. Cuando utilice un aparato elctrico (un taladro por ejemplo) durante la instalacin, asegrese de que dicho aparato est elctricamente aislado o conectado de tal manera que no exista peligro de que se produzcan descargas elctricas. Todas las instalaciones deben adecuarse a las normas vigentes en materia de obras de fontanera. La instalacin del dispositivo automtico de hielo debe realizarla un tcnico calificado.
1. CONECTE LA TUBERA AL FRIGORFICO (CONT.)

Algunos modelos tienen la conexin del frigorfico al final de la tubera localizada en la parte exterior del cobertor de acceso del compartimento del compresor. En otros modelos, el cobertor de acceso del compartimento del compresor debe ser removido para tener acceso a la conexin del frigorfico a la vlvula de agua.
En modelos que usan la conexin de la vlvula de agua, retire la tapa flexible de plstico.
PRECAUCIN! Conecte el frigorfico a una toma de agua potable solamente.
Coloque la tuerca de compresin y la frula (manga) al extremo del tubo, tal como se indica en la ilustracin. Inserte el extremo de la tubera en la conexin de la vlvula de agua hasta donde sea posible. Mientras usted sostiene el tubo, apriete el ajuste. Apriete la tubera en la abrazadera proporcionada para sostenerla en una posicin vertical. Quizs abrir la abrazadera requiera un pequeo esfuerzo. Una de las siguientes ilustraciones se asemejar a la conexin en su frigorfico.

3. PONGA EN MARCHA EL DISPOSITIVO PARA HACER HIELO

Ponga el interruptor de corriente del dispositivo para hacer hielo en la posicin l. El dispositivo para hacer hielo no entrar en funcionamiento hasta que haya alcanzado su temperatura de funcionamiento de 9C o inferior. En dicho momento entrar en funcionamiento, si el interruptor de corriente del dispositivo est en la posicin l.
NOTA: En el caso en que la presin del agua sea baja, la llave de paso del agua podra tardar hasta tres veces ms en llenar de agua suficiente el dispositivo para hacer hielo.

Sonidos normales de operacin.

Los frigorficos ms nuevos producen sonidos diferentes a los modelos ms antiguos. Los frigorficos modernos tienen ms funciones y usan tecnologa ms reciente.
Usted escucha lo que yo escucho? Estos sonidos son normales.
El nuevo compresor de alta eficiencia puede funcionar ms rpido y durante ms tiempo que el de su frigorfico anterior y puede escuchar un zumbido de tono alto o un sonido pulsante mientras opera. Puede escuchar un sonido de soplido cuando las puertas se cierran. Esto se debe a que la presin se est estabilizando dentro del frigorfico.
Puede escuchar los ventiladores movindose a gran velocidad. Esto pasa cuando el frigorfico se conecta por primera vez, cuando las puertas se abren frecuentemente o cuando se guarda gran cantidad de alimentos en los compartimientos del frigorfico o del congelador. Los ventiladores estn ayudando a mantener las temperaturas correctas. Si cualquiera de las puertas permanece abierta por ms de 3 minutos, puede escuchar los ventiladores para enfriar los focos de luz. Los ventiladores cambian la velocidad para suministrar enfriamiento ptimo y ahorrar energa.
CHASQUIDOS, ESTALLIDOS, CRUJIDOS, GORJEO

Puede escuchar sonidos como de crujido o estallidos cuando el frigorfico se conecta por primera vez. Esto pasa a medida que el frigorfico se enfra hasta la temperatura correcta. Los reguladores electrnicos se abren y se cierran para ofrecer un enfriamiento ptimo y ahorrar energa. El compresor puede causar un chasquido o un gorjeo cuando intenta volver a arrancar (esto puede tomar hasta 5 minutos). El tablero de control electrnico puede causar un sonido de chasquido cuando se activa el relevador para controlar los componentes del frigorfico. La expansin y contraccin de las bobinas durante o despus del ciclo de descongelacin puede causar sonidos como de crujido o estallidos. En modelos con dispositivo para hacer hielo, despus de completar un ciclo de hacer hielo, se pueden escuchar los cubos de hielo cuando caen a la bandeja de hielos.
SONIDOS DE AGUA
El fluido del refrigerante a travs de las bobinas puede producir un sonido de borboteo como de agua hirviendo. El agua que cae en el calentador de descongelacin puede causar un chisporroteo, estallido o zumbido durante el ciclo de descongelacin. Un ruido de agua cayendo se puede escuchar durante el ciclo de descongelado a medida que el hielo se derrite desde el evaporador y fluye hacia la bandeja de drenaje. El cierre de las puertas puede producir un sonido de gorgoteo debido a la estabilizacin de la presin. About the temperature controls.
External Set Point Controls (0-9)
The temperature controls are preset in the factory at 5 for both the refrigerator and freezer compartments. To adjust the set point temperature, press the "+" (warmer) or "-" (colder) button on either the Freezer or Refrigerator side. The set point light will come on. Press "+" or "-" until the desired setting is reached. Several adjustments may be required. Each time you adjust controls, allow 24 hours after each adjustment for the refrigerator to reach the setting you have selected. Setting either or both controls to 0 stops cooling in both the freezer and refrigerator compartments, but does not shut off electrical power to the refrigerator. Control settings will vary based on personal preferences, usage and operating conditions and may require more than one adjustment. NOTE: The refrigerator is shipped with protective film covering the temperature controls. If this film was not removed during installation, remove it now.
Ambient temperature limits

About the water filter.

Water Filter Cartridge
The water filter cartridge is located in the back upper right corner of the refrigerator compartment. 2. Fill the replacement cartridge with water from the tap to allow for better flow from the dispenser immediately after installation. 3. Line up the arrow on the cartridge and the cartridge holder. Place the top of the new cartridge up inside the holder. Do not push it up into the holder. 4. Slowly turn it to the right until the filter cartridge stops. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. As you turn the cartridge, it will automatically raise itself into position. The cartridge will rotate about 1/2 turn. 5. Run water from the dispenser for 5 minutes to clear the system and prevent sputtering. NOTE: A newly installed water filter cartridge may cause water to spurt from the dispenser.
When to Replace the Filter

There is a replacement indicator light for the water filter cartridge on the dispenser. This light will turn orange to tell you that you need to replace the filter soon. The filter cartridge should be replaced when the replacement indicator light turns red or if the flow of water to the dispenser or icemaker decreases.
Removing the Filter Cartridge

If you are replacing the cartridge, first remove the old one by slowly turning it to the left. Do not pull down on the cartridge. A small amount of water may drip down.
Cartridge Holder
Filter Bypass Plug

You must use the filter bypass plug when a replacement filter cartridge is not available. The dispenser and the icemaker will not operate without the filter or filter bypass plug. Replacement Filters: To order additional filter cartridges, contact your local distributor.
Installing the Filter Cartridge

1. There is an adapter attached to the top of the new filter cartridge. The adapter must be removed before installing the cartridge. To remove the adapter, turn it to the left about 1/4 turn.
Place the top of the cartridge up inside the cartridge holder and slowly turn it to the right.
About the refrigerator doors.

Refrigerator Doors
The refrigerator doors may feel different than the ones you are used to. The special door opening/ closing feature makes sure the doors close all the way and are securely sealed. When opening and closing the door you will notice a stop position. If the door is opened past this stop point, the door will remain open to allow you to load and unload food more easily. When the door is only partially open, it will automatically close. The resistance you feel at the stop position will be reduced as the door is loaded with food.
When the door is only partially open it will automatically close. Beyond this stop the door will stay open.

Refrigerator Door Bins and Freezer Door Tilt-Out Bins

Large Bins The larger refrigerator door bins and freezer tilt-out door bins are adjustable. To remove: Lift the front of the bin straight up, then lift up and out. To replace or relocate: Engage the back side of the bin in the molded supports of the door. Then push down on the front of the bin. Bin will lock in place. Small Bins To remove: Lift the front of the bin straight up then out. To replace: Position the bin above the rectangular molded supports on the door. Then slide the bin down onto the support to lock it in place. The snugger helps prevent tipping, spilling or sliding of small items stored on the door shelf. Place a finger on either side of the snugger near the rear and move it back and forth to fit your needs.
Freezer tilt-out bin
Slide-Out Spillproof Shelf

The slide-out spillproof shelf allows you to reach items stored behind others. The special edges are designed to help prevent spills from dripping to lower shelves. To remove: Slide the shelf out until it reaches the stop, then press down on the tab and slide the shelf straight out. To replace or relocate: Line the shelf up with the supports and slide it into place. The shelf can be repositioned when the door is at 90 or more. To reposition the shelf, slide the shelf past the stops and angle downward. Slide shelf down to the desired position, line up with the supports and slide into place. Make sure you push the shelves all the way back in before you close the door.

Door Beverage Rack (on some models)

This rack holds up to 5 cans. The rack hangs from the sides of the dairy bin. To remove: 1. Empty the wine/beverage rack. 2. Holding the bottom of the dairy bin, lift the front straight up, then lift up and out. 3. To detach the rack from the dairy bin, pull the racks side wires out of the holes on each side of the dairy bin. To replace: 1. Reattach the rack to the sides of the bin. 2. Engage the back side of the bin in the molded supports on the door. Then push down on the front of the bin. The bin will lock into place.

Deep Freezer Baskets

To remove, push the basket all the way to the back of the freezer. Lift up until the back pins are disengaged. Lift the entire basket up and pull out. WARNING: Poor performance may occur if freezer baskets are not used. Storage of items in the freezer without using baskets may result in poor temperature performance due to restrictions of air flow within the freezer compartment.
Freezer Baskets
To remove, slide out to the stop position, lift the front past the stop position and slide out. Make sure you push the baskets all the way back in before you close the door. WARNING: Poor performance may occur if freezer baskets are not used. Storage of items in the freezer without using baskets may result in poor temperature performance due to restrictions of air flow within the freezer compartment.
Slide-Out Freezer Shelves

To remove, slide out to the stop position, lift the front past the stop position and slide out. Make sure you push the shelves all the way back in before you close the door.
Fixed Freezer Shelves

There are two types of fixed freezer shelves. To remove this type of shelf: 1. Lift the shelf up at the left side. 2. Bring the shelf out.
To remove this type of shelf: 1. Lift up the left side of the shelf and slide it left into the center of the shelf supports. 2. Rotate the right side of the shelf up and out of the shelf supports.

About the freezer compartment.

Loading the Freezer Compartment
Load so that at least 15 mm of space remains clear between stacks of packages and 15 mm to 25 mm of space between the top of any stack and any shelf or basket above it. Packages may hang over the front of shelves but must remain 15 mm from doors. Food to be frozen must not be placed in direct contact with food in storage. If food is to be frozen every day, it may be necessary to reduce the quantity to be frozen. If a quantity of food needs to be frozen, set the freezer control to its coldest setting. After the food is frozen, reset the freezer control to its initial position. Food is most quickly frozen on the middle three shelves of the freezer compartment and most slowly in the freezer door shelves. Do not store commercially quick-frozen food longer than the time recommended by the food manufacturers. If the power to the appliance is shut off for an extended time or if the refrigerating system fails, do not open the doors unless absolutely necessary. When it is necessary, close them as quickly as possible so the frozen food will stay frozen as long as possible. The freezer door storage shelves marked with a two-star label are only appropriate for the storage of previously frozen food. Effervescent drinks should not be stored in the freezer compartment.

About the crispers and pans.

Fruit and Vegetable Crispers

Excess water that may accumulate in the bottom of the drawers should be wiped dry. On some models the bottom drawer has a cover that slides back as the drawer is opened. This allows full access to the drawer. As the drawer is closed, the cover will slide forward into its original position.
Adjustable Humidity Crispers

Slide the control all the way to the (high) setting to provide high humidity recommended for most vegetables. Slide the control all the way to the (low) setting to provide lower humidity levels recommended for most fruits.
About crisper removal.

Crisper Removal
The top crispers can easily be removed by pulling the drawer straight out and lifting the drawer up and over the stop location. If the door prevents you from taking out the drawers, first try to remove the door bins. If this does not offer enough clearance, the refrigerator will need to be rolled forward until the door opens enough to slide the drawers out. In some cases, when you roll the refrigerator out, you will need to move the refrigerator to the left or right as you roll it out. To remove the bottom crisper: 1. Pull the drawer out to the stop position. 2. Rotate all four swing locks to the unlock position. 3. Lift the front of the drawer up and out. To replace the bottom crisper: 1. Make sure all four swing locks are in the unlock position. 2. Place the sides of the drawer into the drawer supports, making sure the swing locks fit on the drawer slots. 3. Lock all four swing locks by rotating them to the lock position.

About the automatic icemaker.

A newly-installed refrigerator may take 12 to 24 hours to begin making ice.
Automatic Icemaker
The icemaker will produce seven cubes per cycle approximately 100130 cubes in a 24-hour period, depending on freezer compartment temperature, room temperature, number of door openings and other use conditions. To access the icemaker: Pull the shelf above the ice drawer straight out. Always be sure to replace the shelf. If the refrigerator is operated before the water connection is made to the icemaker, set the power switch in the O position. When the refrigerator has been connected to the water supply, set the power switch to the l position. You will hear a buzzing sound each time the icemaker fills with water. The icemaker will fill with water when it cools to 10C. A newly-installed refrigerator may take 12 to 24 hours to begin making ice cubes. Throw away the first few batches of ice to allow the water line to clear.
Pull the upper freezer shelf straight out to access the icemaker. Always be sure to replace the shelf. The shelf can be used for storage.
To access ice or reach the power switch:
1. Lift the bin, then pull it forward until the bin stops.
2. Lower the bin to access ice or reach the power switch. NOTE: In order to take full advantage of the tilt-out ice bin, only store items on the shelf below the ice bin that are no taller than the lowest point on the bin.
Be sure nothing interferes with the sweep of the feeler arm. When the bin fills to the level of the feeler arm, the icemaker will stop producing ice. It is normal for several cubes to be joined together. If ice is not used frequently, old ice cubes will become cloudy, taste stale and shrink. If ice cubes get stuck in the icemaker, the green power light will blink. To correct this, set the power switch to O and remove the cubes. Set the power switch to I to restart the icemaker. After the icemaker has been turned on again, there will be a delay of about 45 minutes before the icemaker resumes operation. NOTE: In homes with lower-than-average water pressure, you may hear the icemaker cycle multiple times when making one batch of ice.
Ice Storage Drawer

To access ice, pull the drawer forward. To remove: Set the icemaker power switch to the O (off) position. Pull the drawer straight out and then lift past the stop position. To replace: When replacing the drawer, be sure to press it firmly into place. If it does not go all the way back, remove it and rotate the drive mechanism 1/4 turn. Then push the drawer back again.

About the ice and water dispenser. (on some models)

To Use the Dispenser
Select CUBED, CRUSHED or WATER. Press the glass gently against the top of the dispenser cradle. The spill shelf is not self-draining. To reduce water spotting, the shelf and its grille should be cleaned regularly. If no water is dispensed when the refrigerator is first installed, there may be air in the water line system. Press the dispenser arm for at least two minutes to remove trapped air from the water line and to fill the water system. To flush out impurities in the water line, throw away the first six glassfuls of water. CAUTION: Never put fingers or any other objects into the ice crusher discharge opening.
Dispenser Light
The LIGHT pad turns the night light in the dispenser on and off. The light also comes on when the dispenser cradle is pressed. On some models, if this light burns out, it should be replaced with a 6 watt 12 V maximum bulb.
Door Alarm
Use Door Alarm to sound if either door is open for more than 3 minutes. The alarm will stop once the door is closed. For LCD models, a popup screen will appear. The alarm can be silenced by touching the LCD screen.
Spill Shelf
Locking the Dispenser

Press the LOCK or LOCK CONTROLS pad for 3 seconds to lock the dispenser and control panel. To unlock, press and hold the pad again for 3 seconds.
Care and cleaning of the refrigerator.

Cleaning the Outside
The dispenser drip area, beneath the grille, should be wiped dry. Water left in this area may leave deposits. Remove the deposits by adding undiluted vinegar to the well. Soak until the deposits disappear or become loose enough to rinse away. The dispenser cradle. Before cleaning, lock the dispenser by pressing and holding the LOCK or LOCK CONTROLS pad for 3 seconds. Clean with warm water and baking soda solutionabout a tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda to a quart (1 liter) of water. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry. The door handles and trim. Clean with a cloth dampened with soapy water. Dry with a soft cloth. The stainless steel panels and door handles (on some models), can be cleaned with a commercially available stainless steel cleaner. A spray-on stainless steel cleaner works best. Do not use appliance wax or polish on the stainless steel. Keep the outside clean. Wipe with a clean cloth lightly dampened with kitchen appliance wax or mild liquid dish detergent. Dry and polish with a clean, soft cloth. Do not wipe the refrigerator with a soiled dish cloth or wet towel. These may leave a residue that can erode the paint. Do not use scouring pads, powdered cleaners, bleach or cleaners containing bleach because these products can scratch and weaken the paint finish.

Care and cleaning of the refrigerator.

Cleaning the Inside
To help prevent odors, leave an open box of baking soda in the fresh food and freezer compartments. Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. If this is not practical, wring excess moisture out of sponge or cloth when cleaning around switches, lights or controls. Use warm water and baking soda solution about a tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda to a quart (1 liter) of water. This both cleans and neutralizes odors. Rinse and wipe dry. Use of any cleaning solution other than that which is recommended, especially those that contain petroleum distillates, can crack or damage the interior of the refrigerator. Avoid cleaning cold glass shelves with hot water because the extreme temperature difference may cause them to break. Handle glass shelves carefully. Bumping tempered glass can cause it to shatter. Do not wash any plastic refrigerator parts in the dishwasher. The chill/thaw tray is dishwasher safe.
Behind the Refrigerator

Be careful when moving the refrigerator away from the wall. Pull the refrigerator straight out and return it to position by pushing it straight in. When pushing the refrigerator back, make sure you dont roll over the power cord or icemaker supply line.
Preparing for Vacation

For long vacations or absences, remove food and unplug the refrigerator. Clean the interior with a baking soda solution of 15 ml of baking soda to 1 liter of water. Leave the doors open. Set the icemaker power switch to the O position and shut off the water supply to the refrigerator. If the temperature can drop below freezing, have a qualified servicer drain the water supply system to prevent serious property damage due to flooding.
Preparing to Move
Secure all loose items such as shelves and drawers by taping them securely in place to prevent damage. When using a hand truck to move the refrigerator, do not rest the front or back of the refrigerator against the hand truck. This could damage the refrigerator. Handle only from the sides of the refrigerator. Be sure the refrigerator stays in an upright position during moving.

Replacing the light bulbs.

Setting the controls to 0 (off) does not remove power to the light circuit.
Your light shield will look like one of the following:
Refrigerator CompartmentUpper Light

1. Unplug the refrigerator. 2. The bulbs are located at the top of the compartment, inside the light shield. On some models, a screw at the front of the light shield will have to be removed. On other models, the screw is located in the pocket located at the back of the light shield. 3. To remove the light shield, on some models, press in on the tabs on the sides of the shield and slide forward and out. On other models, just slide the shield forward and out. 4. After replacing the bulb with an appliance bulb of the same or lower wattage, replace the light shield and screws (on some models). When replacing the light shield, make sure that the tabs at the back of the shield fit into the slots at the back of the light shield housing. 5. Plug the refrigerator back in.
Freezer Compartment
1. Unplug the refrigerator. 2. Remove the shelf just above the light shield. (The shelf will be easier to remove if it is emptied first.) On some models, a screw at the top of the light shield will need to be removed. 3. To remove the light shield, press in on the sides, and lift up and out. 4. Replace the bulb with an appliance bulb of the same or lower wattage, and reinstall the light shield. When reinstalling the light shield, make sure the top tabs snap securely into place. Replace the screw (on some models). 5. Reinstall the shelf and plug the refrigerator back in.
Dispenser
1. Unplug the refrigerator. 2. The bulb is located on the dispenser under the control panel. Remove the light bulb by turning it counterclockwise. 3. Replace the bulb with a bulb of the same size and wattage. 4. Plug the refrigerator back in.

Do not install the refrigerator where the temperature will go below 16C because it will not run often enough to maintain proper temperatures. Do not install the refrigerator where the temperature will go above 43C because it will not perform properly. Install it on a floor strong enough to support it fully loaded. B H D

ROLLERS
The rollers have 3 purposes: Rollers adjust so the door closes easily when opened about halfway. [Raise the front about 5/8" (16 mm) from the floor.] Rollers adjust so the refrigerator is firmly positioned on the floor and does not wobble. Rollers allow you to move the refrigerator away from the wall for cleaning. Final leveling adjustments should be made after the refrigerator has been installed. To adjust the rollers: 1. Remove the base grille by opening the doors, removing the screws at each end, and pulling it straight out. 2. Turn the front roller adjusting screws clockwise to raise the refrigerator, counterclockwise to lower it. Use a 3/8" hex socket or wrench, or an adjustable wrench. 3. These models also have rear adjustable rollers so you can align the refrigerator with your kitchen cabinets. Use a long-handled 5/16" socket wrench to turn the screws for the rear rollersclockwise to raise the refrigerator, counterclockwise to lower it. 4. Replace the base grille.
DOOR ALIGNMENT
After leveling, make sure that the refrigerator door is 1/16" higher than the freezer door. To align the doors, adjust the refrigerator door. 1. Using a 7/16" socket wrench, turn the door adjusting screw to the right to raise the door, to the left to lower it. (A nylon plug, imbedded in the threads of the pin, prevents the pin from turning unless a wrench is used.) 2. After one or two turns of the wrench, open and close the refrigerator door and check the alignment at the top of the doors.

Follow these recommendations carefully to minimize the risk of expensive water damage. Water hammer (water banging in the pipes) in house plumbing can cause damage to refrigerator parts and lead to water leakage or flooding. Call a qualified plumber to correct water hammer before installing the water supply line to the refrigerator. If you use your refrigerator before connecting the water line, make sure the icemaker power switch is in the O (off) position. Do not install the icemaker tubing in areas where temperatures fall below freezing. When using any electrical device (such as a power drill) during installation, be sure the device is insulated or wired in a manner to prevent the hazard of electric shock. All installations must be in accordance with local plumbing code requirements. Installation of the icemaker must be done by a qualified service technician. On models using the refrigeration connection at the water valve, remove the plastic flexible cap.
1. CONNECT THE TUBING TO THE REFRIGERATOR (CONT.)

Some models have the refrigerator connection at the end of tubing located outside the compressor compartment access cover. On other models, the compressor compartment access cover must be removed in order to access the refrigerator connection at the water valve.
WARNING! Connect to potable water supply only.

Place the compression nut and ferrule (sleeve) onto the end of the tubing as shown.
1. CONNECT THE TUBING TO THE REFRIGERATOR

NOTES: Before making the connection to the refrigerator, be sure the refrigerator power cord is not plugged into the wall outlet. We recommend installing a water filter if your water supply has sand or particles that could clog the screen of the refrigerators water valve. Install it in the water line near the refrigerator.
Insert the end of the tubing into the water valve connection as far as possible. While holding the tubing, tighten the fitting. Fasten the tubing into the clamp provided to hold it in a vertical position. You may need to pry open the clamp. One of the illustrations below will look like the connection on your icemaker.
Reattach the access cover.

2. TURN THE WATER ON AND PLUG IN THE REFRIGERATOR
Arrange the coil of tubing so that it does not vibrate against the back of the refrigerator or against the wall. Push the refrigerator back to the wall.
3. START THE ICEMAKER

Set the icemaker power switch to the l position. The icemaker will not begin to operate until it reaches its operating temperature of 9C or below. It will then begin operation automatically if the icemaker power switch is in the l position.
NOTE: In lower water pressure conditions, the water valve may turn on up to 3 times to deliver enough water to the icemaker.

Normal operating sounds.

Newer refrigerators sound different from older refrigerators. Modern refrigerators have more features and use newer technology.
Do you hear what I hear? These sounds are normal.
The new high efficiency compressor may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating. You may hear a whooshing sound when the doors close. This is due to pressure equalizing within the refrigerator.
You may hear the fans spinning at high speeds. This happens when the refrigerator is first plugged in, when the doors are opened frequently or when a large amount of food is added to the refrigerator or freezer compartments. The fans are helping to maintain the correct temperatures. If either door is open for over 3 minutes, you may hear the fans come on in order to cool the light bulbs. The fans change speeds in order to provide optimal cooling and energy savings.
CLICKS, POPS, CRACKS and CHIRPS

You may hear cracking or popping sounds when the refrigerator is first plugged in. This happens as the refrigerator cools to the correct temperature. Electronic dampers click open and closed to provide optimal cooling and energy savings. The compressor may cause a clicking or chirping sound when attempting to restart (this could take up to 5 minutes). The electronic control board may cause a clicking sound when relays activate to control refrigerator components. Expansion and contraction of cooling coils during and after defrost can cause a cracking or popping sound. On models with an icemaker, after an icemaking cycle, you may hear the ice cubes dropping into the ice bucket.
WATER SOUNDS
The flow of refrigerant through the freezer cooling coils may make a gurgling noise like boiling water. Water dropping on the defrost heater can cause a sizzling, popping or buzzing sound during the defrost cycle. A water dripping noise may occur during the defrost cycle as ice melts from the evaporator and flows into the drain pan. Closing the door may cause a gurgling sound due to pressure equalization.

Refrigerator does not operate
Possible Causes
Refrigerator in defrost cycle. Either or both controls set to 0 (off). Refrigerator is unplugged. The fuse is blown/circuit breaker is tripped. The refrigerator is in showroom mode.
What To Do
Wait about 30 minutes for defrost cycle to end. Set the controls to a temperature setting. Push the plug completely into the outlet. Replace fuse or reset the breaker. Unplug the refrigerator and plug it back in. See Rollers. Wait 24 hours for the refrigerator to completely cool down. This is normal. Check to see if package is holding door open. This is normal. See About the controls.
Vibration or rattling (slight vibration is normal) Motor operates for long periods or cycle on and off frequently. (Modern refrigerators with more storage space and a larger freezer require more operating time. They start and stop often to maintain even temperatures).
Rollers need adjusting. Normal when refrigerator is first plugged in. Often occurs when large amounts of food are placed in refrigerator. Door left open. Hot weather or frequent door openings. Temperature controls set at the coldest setting.
Refrigerator or freezer compartment too warm
Temperature control not set cold enough. Warm weather or frequent door openings. Door left open.

Frost or ice crystals on frozen food (frost within package is normal) Divider between refrigerator and freezer compartments feels warm

Frequent "buzzing" sound
Possible Causes
Icemaker power switch is in the on position, but the water supply to the refrigerator has not been connected. Ice storage bin needs cleaning. Food transmitting odor/taste to ice cubes. Interior of refrigerator needs cleaning.
What To Do
Set the power switch to the off position. Keeping it in the on position will damage the water valve. Empty and wash bin. Discard old cubes. Wrap foods well. See Care and cleaning. Replace filter cartridge with new cartridge or with plug. Check to see if package is holding door open. See About the controls. Turn on icemaker or water supply.
Ice cubes have odor/taste
Small or hollow cubes Slow ice cube freezing
Water filter clogged. Door left open. Temperature control not set cold enough.
Cube dispenser does not work
Icemaker turned off or water supply turned off. Ice cubes are frozen to icemaker feeler arm. Irregular ice clumps in storage container.
Remove cubes. Break up with fingertip pressure and discard remaining clumps. Freezer may be too warm. Adjust the freezer control to a colder setting, one position at a time, until clumps do not form. Press and hold the LOCK CONTROL pad for 3 seconds. Dispense water until all water in system is replenished.
Dispenser is LOCKED. Water has poor taste/odor Water dispenser has not been used for a long time. Normal when refrigerator is first installed. Water dispenser has not been used for a long time. Water system has been drained. Water dispenser does not work Water supply line turned off or not connected. Water filter clogged. Air may be trapped in the water system. Dispenser is LOCKED. Water spurting from dispenser Newly-installed filter cartridge.
Water in first glass is warm
Wait 24 hours for the refrigerator to completely cool down. Dispense water until all water in system is replenished.
Allow several hours for replenished supply to chill. See Installing the water line. Replace filter cartridge or remove filter and install plug. Press the dispenser arm for at least two minutes. Press and hold the LOCK CONTROL pad for 3 seconds. Run water from the dispenser for 3 minutes (about six liters). Call for service. Set to a warmer setting. Call a plumber. Replace filter cartridge or remove filter and install plug. Press and hold the LOCK CONTROL pad for 3 seconds.
Water is not dispensed but icemaker is working No water or ice cube production
Water in reservoir is frozen. Refrigerator control setting is too cold. Supply line or shutoff valve is clogged. Water filter clogged. Dispenser is LOCKED.

Problem

Possible Causes
Last setting was CRUSHED ICE. Defrost heater is on. Foods transmitting odor to refrigerator.
What To Do
A few cubes were left in the crusher from the previous setting. This is normal. This is normal. Foods with strong odors should be tightly wrapped. Keep an open box of baking soda in the refrigerator; replace every three months. See Care and cleaning. Apply paraffin wax to the face of the gasket. Move the door bin up one position. Wipe surface dry.
Interior needs cleaning. Door not closing properly Door gasket on hinge side sticking or folding over. A door bin is hitting a shelf inside the refrigerator. Moisture forms on outside of refrigerator Moisture collects inside (in humid weather, air carries moisture into refrigerator when doors are opened) Interior light does not work Not unusual during periods of high humidity. Some floor coverings are sensitive and will discolor at these normal and safe temperatures. Adaptive defrost keeps compressor running during door openings. Door open. Packaging. Wrong weight selected. Item with high fat content. Not using Chill/Thaw tray. This is normal. The refrigerator will cycle off after the door remains closed for 2 hours. Close door.
