We are constantly striving to reduce our carbon footprint, by utilising eco-friendly resources, recycled paper, undertaking green initiatives and more. ECM will automate the complete process and workflow of the Content Department along with data integrity. It will also prevent misuse of information currently scattered across the organization.

We contacted Eco Recycling Limited, an organization dedicated to recycling electronic wastage in an organized manner. Approximately 149.5 kgs of waste was passed on from Repro to Eco Recycling, which was disposed safely. The portion of E-waste that could not be recycled was sent to an authorised hazardous waste treatment and disposal facility according to the norms of the Pollution Board.

process by printing only what we can bind. In a nutshell, we are adopting a continuous flow process where we bind a book as soon as its printed. This has helped immensely to improve on-time delivery from 20% to 88% (average for 2010 fiscal year). The future of digital publication printing is pointing towards ink jet technology. Mr. Ani Khandekar (GM Digital Operations) visited USA to meet a premier vendor

for evaluating their equipment by operating detailed trials using different paper types. He also visited 3 printers currently using this technology to witness the practical application on an actual shop floor. A subsequent visit in May 2011 was planned to visit a different vendor and assess their platforms. We are also in talks with existing vendors to evaluate their latest toner based technology that can allow printing on lighter papers with good half-tone images. Adding such capability will reduce dependency on particular equipments. In addition to the above process fundamentals, we have also undertaken a process to enhance the look of POD department. The department is being renovated into a visual factory with new colors, informative signs and posters, notice boards demonstrating production and quality numbers.

the unit of poD is well laid out in a separate section and the overall speed that each of these processes goes is fairly impressive.
