L: hii,Im reading this book,I have exam this Friday. D: What are you reading? L: I read about cervical cancer. Heeyy,you have a class now,dont you? D: Im late,Im not allowed to come the class. By the way,Im wondering what is the cervical cancer? L: cervical cancer begin in cells on the surface of the cervix .the cancer cells can spread by breaking away from the original tumor.they enter blood vessels or lymph vessels,which branch into all the tissues of the body. D: you said before about the cervix so what is that? L: the cervix is the lower part of the uterus or womb.the cervix connects the uterus and the vagina.Both the uterus and the cervix are located in the pelvis. D: are there different types of cervical cancer? L: there are 2 main types of cervical cancer.first,squamos cell carcinoma is cancer of cells that line the outer part of the cervix and this type is the most commonly occurs.And the second,adenocarcinoma is cancer of the cells lining the inner part of the cervix. D: is there every woman can be affected by this disease?? L: any woman can get cervical cancer but it occurs most often in women between the ages of 35 and 55.Certain factors can make one woman more likely to get cervical cancer than another one.it called risk factors, the most common risk is Human Papillomavirus infection. D: What are the symptoms of cervical cancer? L: early cervical cancers usually dont cause symptoms,when the cancer grows larger,women may have the symptoms,they are vaginal discharge,abnormal vaginal bleeding,vaginal odor and pain. D: if early cervical cancers usually dont cause symptoms,how to detect this disease? L: the doctor uses the Pap test to see if there any changes in the cervix.A Pap test can be done in a doctors office or health clinic.the Pap test is recommended every 2-3 years until a woman has 3 or more normal exams.

D: how the procedures of the Pap test? L: let me see in this book,I read for you,listen.the doctor uses a tool called speculum to hold the vagina open to see the upper part of the vagina and the cervix.Then the doctor uses a wooden scraper or a small brush to get some cells from the cervix and vagina.he puts these cells on a glass slide or in a solution and sends it to a laboratory to be looked at under a microscope to check for abnormal cells.
