Name: Nguyen Duc Thinh Tri Nowadays, global poverty is still a big issue that caused many bad

effects to every country and people in the world. It affects many areas such as education, population, economic, social, healthcare, culture, lifestyle, living standard and so on. According to UNICEF, 1.4 million people living with no more than 1.25 USD per day or less, 22,000 children died each day due to conditions of poverty, 1.7 billion people lack access to clean water, etc. Poverty appears all over the world, especially Africa and Asia country. I am writing a small essay to express my ideas for the solution of global poverty from the point of view of a Vietnamese citizen. Vietnam is a poor country, we experienced war for a long time and it still affects our lives today. The living standard is really low especially rural area. The increasing of homelessness unemployment, crime, violence, financial problem, economic crisis and the lack of education are some big problems that strongly affect daily life of Vietnamese people. Seeing these facts every single day by my own eyes, I had really reality view of this global issue. Developing the education system, creating jobs and innovation of technology & communications are the first 3 things to come up when I started thinking about the global poverty solution. The lack of education need to be solved, it caused many other big problems. 771 million adult people worldwide do not have the basic knowledge in reading, writing and calculation. More than 100 million children do not have access to school and this limitation will determine their lives. I think education is a key tool in order to reduce the vulnerable position of millions of people in the world. Education enables job opportunities, self esteem and social awareness for change. The government should pay more for opening school, teaching quality, promote scholarship and focus more on rural area. Vocational education and training is the other key to improve the productivity of the country. Creating job for both genders is the second solution to erase global poverty. You dont have a job so who will pay for food, water, school fees, and other basic needs for yourself, your child and family? As I mentioned above, education create well-trained

labor force and the second thing that the government and all of us should do is opening more job opportunities for them to find out a job with satisfied salary. Creating job also help us to avoid crime and violence problems. There is no doubt that education can be improved and poverty can be reduced by technology, thats why many country integrated technology into the school curriculum. In my opinion, broad access to computer and technology needs to be a right, not a privilege, for every citizen in the world. Everyone must be able to access to the knowledge, information and other basic services of todays technology. In an agriculture country like Vietnam, technology is very effective in improving productivity and the income of many Vietnamese farmers. Technology and communications is a virtual mentor that teach them how to growth plants and gain much profit from it. FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) listed Vietnam in the top 4 countries that have good result in reducing poverty. This success is much related to the expand of exporting rice of Vietnam in recent year We should concentrate more on using communications in reducing global poverty. Communications can be used in many ways to support poverty reduction, the charity organization use it to call for generosity and deliver information of charity programs, poverty reduction strategy, etc. The government use communications to encourage and call for volunteer to support their strategy and I also expressing my ideas about todays global poverty through communications. To sum up, poverty is still a big issue that affecting our planet every single second. Everyone must to have responsibility to start doing necessary things in order to support global poverty reduction. We do it for ourselves, for the future of our children. Even we have different skin color, culture, lifestyle but we are human and we have humanity and the beautiful culture of human is helping others. My suggestion for the poverty reduction included in the 3 things: Communications can create motivation for the entire population to do their best of their ability instead of doing it because they have to. Education increases the labor forces quality and open more job opportunities. Technology support education and improve productivity
