*OPENING HYMN

We are Called

TFWS #2172

PRAYER OF CONFESSION O holy and merciful God, We Have Not Loved our neighbors as ourselves. WORDS OF ASSURANCE Leader: It is in God that we live and move and have our being. We have been set free by the grace of God to live out the profound truth that we are Gods people; may we be mindful of Gods calling on our lives. People: Amen.

OFFERING OUR GIFTS AND PRAYERS We confess, O God, that we are often overwhelmed by needs in the worldhunger, disease, strife, prejudice, and many other problems. Receive these offerings as signs that we will act to get something done instead of worrying about what we cannot do. Bless these gifts so that they will bring healing and love in Jesus name. Amen. We have just added Wednesday, August 3rd, to the schedule, so if you have not yet had a chance to sign up do so TODAY! The directory will not be complete without you! Whether you are a member or not, we want to include everyone who participates at Berkeley. So if youre reading this please sign up! For more information contact Beth Collins at beth.collins@earthlink.net Every Sunday its important to wear your name tag. We expect new people every Sunday; its hospitable to help them know who you are. It can also help those people who know your face but not your name. (We hear that a lotI can remember faces but not names.) Its easier to greet someone you may not yet know if you can call them by name, and they can do the same. Please take a minute to pick your name tag up when entering the sanctuary, and leave it behind when departing. If youve lost yours, let Tara know and we will gladly make you another one. If youre a regular attender but not a member, just ask and we will make you a name tag. The United Methodist Women are collecting school supplies for needy students at Cunningham and Widen Elementary Schools. Lists are posted in the narthex and are also available at most stores that sell school supplies. Please bring your donations on the next 3 Sundays - July 31, August 7 or August 14 - and place them in the donation box in the Narthex. Phyllis Coombes is extending the beginning Tai Chi class to the end of August. The class is free and is held in the Fellowship Hall on Sundays from 4:00 5:00 p.m. Health experts recommend Tai Chi for balance and fall prevention, strength training, arthritis, diabetes and improving circulation. Phyllis is a certified trainer and has been teaching for 5 years. Men and women, church members and members of the community are all welcome. Wear loose clothing and low heeled flexible shoes.
