The details of the organization are as follows:

Background:

Talha and Samrah conceived this idea, in cooperation with their parents. Later on Hammud and Zuhayr
joined force. Their idea for community service, is to make a Muslim group for the youth. A group that
specializes in one thing: helping. A very simple concept, it can be done amazingly if done right. The
group would be called Muslim Youth Social Services Team, or MYSST for short. This group would identify
itself as Muslim publicly and proudly. The way it would do this would be by wearing some sort of hat or
band that could be seen easily, preferably of the color green, and bearing the name of the group. What
the group would do is that if there was someone in need, for example someone's need a light bulb
changed in their dining room, and they are too feeble to get it done, they would call MYSST,
and MYSST would send someone over as soon as possible to help the person get their light on. But the
group's job wouldn't stop at bulbs. If there was a emergency or anything, MYSST would come and help
the people. MYSST is going to be made for the purpose of helping, and that purpose only.

A group of young Muslim youth performing these helping actions in public would show the Muslim
Ummah's true nature. It would show how Muslim are not terrorists as continuously labeled by our media,
our politicians and other enemies. Muslims are peaceful, and help when they see people who need it.
That would be the message spread around the community. A longer term goal for the group is to show up
on media. If a Muslim youth group conducting peaceful activities showed up on TV or in newspapers,
more and more people would get the message of peace and prosperity that Islam brings. This group
would be Insha-Allah very successful in the long term, and would continue through generations for Muslim
youth to do dawaah.

Name: MYSST.org (Muslim Youth Social Services Team). Pronounce as MIST. The domain name is
already registered by us.

Vision:

By our actions spread the reality that Muslims are not what our media and our enemies are portraying.
Muslims are people who love Allah and His Creation, period.

Mission :
Still under development. But here is an attempt:

Provide every day services to all members of the community at large, Muslim or non-Muslim, starting with
our neighbors.

Type of Services:

Service to elders, like help them change the light bulbs, help them with purchase of their medicine, cut
their grass, etc.

Provide food to homeless and needy.

Provide fast and easy computer training to those who don't know how to use computer: set their email,
show how to use internet, load software, connect accessories, etc.

Provide other needed services like program their remotes, type letters, help people with check book
balancing, etc.

Visit hospitals to cheer up patients, old and young, Muslims or non-Muslims.

Provide some urgently needed services

Terms of Executive Committee members:

Initially there is no term limit, and no elections. Once the organization is well established the Executive
Committee will decide what to do and when.

Field member requirement (to wear MYSST Gear):

All volunteers, no compensation of any kind for time.

We must identify ourselves by what we wear when we go out in public for providing service.

Boys wear green & blue cap. Members need to buy this cap.

Girls wear blue scarf and green shoulder cover. Members need to buy the scarf and cover.

Membership Criteria:

Muslim boys and girls, all ages up to High School.

Their parents and other adults for logistical assistance only; otherwise the team is only made of Youths.

Membership Type:

1. Field Ansars (FA): These are members who will represent MYSST in the field. They have to
wear the color to identify themselves while providing service. Middle School and up (also
those who will enter in Middle School in Fall of 2007)

2. Background Ansars (BA): These are members who will only do office work and who are not
ready yet to wear MYSTT Gear in public, even only while performing field service. The BA's
are not allowed in field. Insha-Allah with time and with Allah's Help they will gain courage to
promote themselves to FA.

3. Cub Ansars (CA): Elementary School children. They will just help FA's and BA's with little
chores; this will help them gain motivation for volunteering for social services.

4. Parent Ansars (PA): All parents must join the team if their children are joining. The reason is
that we will be depending on parents with driving and other logistics when we are out in field
providing service. Parents also must wear the MYSST Gear when going out in field with the
field ansars.

5. Adult Ansars (AA): The community members who are not yet parents and would like to
assistMYSST with various chores; for example: helping supervise FA's service call, help
organize meetings and conventions, help with fund raising, etc.

Early Members who had already joined:

Field Ansars: All EC members, Taha Rafeeqi, Ubayd Haq

Background Ansars: ??? We hope there are no BA's; we want all of us to have enough courage to join as
FA

Cub Ansars: Mustafa Haq

Parent Ansars: Nadeem Haq, Naheed Haq, Tariq Rafeeqi, Khalida Rafeeqi

Adult Ansars: Please join.

Team Structure:

We will divide our areas into communities and seek help from FA's belonging to these communities to
provide any needed service.
The needy will enter their need in our web site or they call our telephone to register their need.

Secretary will assess the need and assign the service to FA closer to that neighborhood.

We are still evolving this structure.

First Project:

We already launched our very first project, called "Down with Hunger".

The slogan is "You Ditch You Pitch ™"

The members will get the details in our first General Body Meeting (to be announced later).
