Leading methods for quantifying the payback for integrity management Optimising inspection, maintenance and equipment renewal timing Cross industry research and best practices: MACRO and SALVO projects Dynamic inspection scheduling: Showing the economics of optimal risk assessment Managing ageing assets: How much inspection and maintenance plans should adapt This workshop will share leading edge developments and best practices on the optimisation of integrity management activities. It will introduce case studies of the economic optimisation of inspection, maintenance and equipment replacement timing and explain how to translate technical issues into business impact language. Participants will also learn how to put numbers on the intangibles and quantify the economic significance of uncertainty or poor data. The workshop is highly interactive and will be facilitated by one of the leading authorities in the field.

John is the Managing Director of TWPL, one of the worlds leading Asset Management training and consulting companies, providing guidance to bluechip clients in over 25 countries and most industry sectors. He is also a Council Member, Fellow and Chair of Experts Panel for the Institute of Asset Management. He chaired the development of the BSI PAS55 standard for risk-based, whole life cycle asset management and is currently representing the UK on the ISO PC251 committee for Asset Management. In the late 1990s, he was project manager for the European MACRO project, an international consortium developing methods for optimized risk-based decision-making. He is currently managing the SALVO R&D programme on best practices in the management of aging assets. John is also author of the book Managing Industrial Risk (Chapman & Hall, 1993). He is a member of the UK Safety & Reliability Society and has a Masters degree from Cambridge University.

In his role as a Senior Consultant at Amor Group, Steven has played a key part in the implementation of Scottish Powers Process Safety KPI Dashboard. Steven has made a significant contribution towards Scottish Power realising significant improvements across the business both in terms of asset management, production efficiency and bottom line contribution.

Holger has been with working for 10 years at BAYERNOIL Refinery responsible for failure analysis, monitoring of critical components, damage prevention and, since this year is responsible for plant reliability. Holger is an expert on materials and corrosion.

Stewart is a mechanical engineer with nearly 30 years in the Oil & Gas Industry. Stewart commenced his career as a Distribution Apprentice, and has undertaken many Transmission & Distribution operations roles in his time with British Gas & Transco. Stewart is now the Asset Integrity Manager (Projects) for GL Noble Denton in the UK. Stewart is now responsible for managing AIM projects globally in all aspects of the Oil & Gas Supply chain.

Dr. Alexander Stacey is a Specialist Inspector in the Offshore Division of the HSE, with a background in structural integrity. His current role is Strategy Manager of HSEs Key Programme 4, which is focusing on the management of ageing and life extension of the UKs offshore infrastructure.

David has worked for 30 years on the management of human error in systems. He is the primary author of Guidelines for Preventing Human error in Process Safety and has authored 140 technical papers and book chapters in the area of human reliability.

Peter has 29 years experience within the UK electricity supply industry including 13 years in conventional power stations, 3 years in nuclear engineering and 14 years with a Distribution Network Operator. Peter has spent the last 6 years delivering PAS 55 audit services for Lloyds Register to utility businesses world-wide.

Mark has over 13 years experience in the inspection and maintenance of fixed equipment in the petrochemical field. He holds several API inspection certifications for fixed equipment, is a N.A.C.E Corrosion Technologist, a certified N.A.C.E Coatings Inspector, as well as being a CMRP.

Alexander is responsible for Process Safety and Integrity with OMV Petrom (Bucharest). Prior to this he was responsible for the coordination and control of the maintenance of high pressure gas pipelines in Austria.

Gerhard is a specialist in structural integrity management and the life extension of assets. He is a Certified Quality Assurance Leader (2002) and works in the development of national and international standards and NPD/ PSA regulations

Scarlett is vice president of Process Integration Ltd with responsibilities for reliability, availability and maintainability sector of the business. She holds 1 patent for the novel technology for Integrating Reliability, Availability and Maintainability into process design. She has been working with oil/gas industries closely in RAM area in the recent years.

John is the Managing Director of TWPL, providing guidance to bluechip clients in over 25 countries and most industry sectors. He is currently managing the SALVO R&D programme on best practices in the management of aging assets.

In 2007 Martin was appointed to his current role with the aim of developing the groups asset strategy in line with PAS 55 and developing an integrated approach to operations and maintenance including developing a new risk approach to asset management.

A Chartered Mechanical Engineer with a degree from Imperial College. After a period in the steel industry Richard moved into turnaround management in the oil and chemical industries, initially with contract organisations, for the subsequent 15 years he has worked with refinery operators as a Turnaround Manager, Engineer or Consultant.
