PROGRAM FOR THE ELDERLY

Morning: Dance and Music Therapy And Afternoon: Sports Therapy

Objectives: To help the elderly become physically fit and healthy To gain and boost up energy To exercise muscles and increase cardio Maintain good blood circulation To remove excess body wastes and fats

The Program is about Old people recognizing their strengths, weaknesses, abilities and their own potentials. In this way, they would learn to accept and realize that they are not what they use to be when they where young, but this doesn t mean that they are weak, but instead to make themselves proud that they are still alive and strong and accept the fact that a person does age, and in order to age successfully not just physically, but also mentally, emotionally and spiritually, they should learn to do the things they can do but in a form that is much lower in a state they can do it.

Theory used: Activity Theory / Developmental Task Theory of Havinghurst and Alblecht We used this theory in relation to our activity program that we made because we all know that all people do age. But there are still people who does not accept the fact that they are aging and getting old. As a person grows old, they tend to do less activities which makes them weaker. With this kind of program, we can help them do more things they want to do but in a lesser form or way in which they can finish it. Help them realize that they are aging but it shouldn t let it stop them from moving. Many people because of lack of exercise grows old having different kinds of sickness, but if a person continues to be healthy they may look healthy, both in the inside and out. Growing, developing and even aging can be hard to accept for others, but this can help you learn what you can possibly do. All you need is a bit of encouragement and you would age successfully
