1.a) Explain the working of Radar with the help of a block diagram and
hence bring out the role of transmitter and Receiver in Radar.
b) Explain clearly the range detection of a target using pulsed radar
and hence obtain the effect of pulse width and PRf on range
detection.

2.a) Explain the principle of MTI Radar for target detection with the
help of block diagram that uses power amplifier as transmitter.
b) What is Delay line cancelier? Explain the advantages and
disadvantages of delay line cancellers in MTI detection.

3.a) Explain clearly the concept of Antenna Array and its role on
Antenna beam width.
b) Define array factor in case of a phased array and derive an
expression for the Array factor in terms of the no.of elements N.

4.a) What is Ambiguity function in Radar signal Processing? Explain


clearly about Ideal Ambiguity function and its properties.
b) Bring out the relation between Radar waveform and ambiguity
function and their role on SNR.

5.a) What is matched filter? Explain clearly the principle of working of


Matched filter and derive expression for the output SNR of Ideal
matched filter in pressure of white noise.
b) Show that delay & correlation filter works as matched filter and
hence derive the expression for optimum delay.

6.a) Explain the Role of filter banks in Doppler Rader and explain
clearly the working of Doppler signal processor in digital MTI.
b) What is improvement factor in Digital MTI? Bring out the effect of
AID convertor improvement factor in digital MTI.
