S. D. student of M.A. English Literature, IIISem, want to be a good teacher and educate the people of our country. My aim is to increase literacy in my country as well as develop my career in teaching. I have spirit to make student understand about purpose of education. I want to inspire students to face problems with courage and make them aware of realities of life. I completed my internship under the supervision of Achievers Academy Spoken English and Personality Development Classes. I worked with sincerity, devotion and meticulous efforts. I tried to do my best while internship. The director of Achievers Academy Mr. Pratap Singh Chauhan provided me demo classes from 27th July to 6th August. He explained me all fundamental knowledge of the subject and courses of the academy. He has been with me all the time and helped me to do some thing for my work.

According to our Indian Prayer The teacher

is a Brahma, the creator, he is God Vishnu, he is God Maheshwar. He is entire universe, salutations to him. Swami Vivekanand says The true teacher is he who can immediately come down to the level of the student, transfer his soul to the students soul and see through and understand through his mind. Such a teacher can really teach and none else

Dr. S. Radhakrishnan realized The teachers place in society is of vital importance. He acts as the pivot for the transmission of intellectual traditions and technical skills from generation to generation and helps to keep the lamp of civilization burning

A teacher teaches. Not all teachers work in a

classroom. Some teachers teach things without you being aware of it, and some teach the same lesson to many people. Anyone who helps you to learn is a teacher. You are a teacher when you help someone else learn something! A good teacher is patient, and understands that not everyone can learn something perfectly the very first time. Good teachers take time to explain things in different ways if a student is having trouble. A good teacher doesn't just use a textbook, but teaches things you will learn later in your life along with teaching facts and skills. Good teachers help you to see why it is important to learn, and don't just make you memorize facts without explanation. Good teachers love their students, and teach for the joy of teaching - even if they don't get paid to teach whatever they are teaching .

Schools and colleges without teacher are just like a body without the soul, a skeleton without flesh and blood, a shadow without substance. There is no greater need for the cause of education today than the need for strong manly men and motherly women as teachers for the young. As social engineers, the teachers can socialize and humanize the young by their man-like qualities. Among the greatest of all services that can be rendered by men to Almighty God, is the education and training of children, so that they can foster by grace in the way of salvation, growing like pearls of divine bounty in the shell of education and will be one day the jewel in the crown of abiding glory. The teacher is the yardstick that measures the achievements and aspirations of the nation. The worth and potentialities of a country get evaluated in and through the work of the teacher, The people of a country are the enlarged replica of their teacher. They are the real nation builders. It needs no description that the teacher is the pivot of any educational system of the younger students. On him rests the failure or the success of the system. If the teachers are well educated and if they are intellectually alive and take keen interest in their job, then only, success is ensured. But, if on the other hand, they lack training in education and if they cannot give their heart to their profession, the system is destined to fail. Hence, the teacher is another vital component of the school.

Teachers are the dynamic force of the schools and colleges.

Essential Qualities of a Teacher

During my internship work I realized that teacher must have some qualities.
Teacher should be a good Role Model. Role Models are people who set good examples by the words they speak and by the actions they take. Role Models can be the people you know personally or people you have learned about in the news at school or on television. Students tend to copy the behavior and mannerism of the teachers. The teacher entire personality is a reflection on the minds of the students. If the teacher is honest, leads a balanced and disciplined life, the children adopt these virtues as ideal conduct unconsciously. The ideal teacher s one who through his thoughts, words and deeds, gives and an impression a honest upright life which can serve as a model for the students to copy, follow and emulate. A flower in bloom is loved by all and in this lies its glory. Similarly, man may be viewed as having achieved everything in life when he becomes perfect in character. If the best flowers among mankind take to teaching, society is abundantly enriched their fragrance and beauty are then made the best use of. If the teacher becomes an embodiment of right conduct in thought, word and deed, the students by their association will learn virtue and

develop manly qualities. They can be humanized and can live and act like normal human beings. They can become thoughtful, concerned and courageous. Every teacher must have a good personality. Radiant, pleasing and impressive personal appearance, refinement, pleasant manners, industry, enthusiasm, drive, initiative, open mindedness etc., are some of the essential traits of an ideal teacher. External appearance has a psychological effect upon the students. By attractive appearance, he/she can win the love and affection of his students and can command respect. He/she should be frank, tolerant, kind, fair and straight-forward so that he/she can stimulate learning. Sociability is another important quality of a teacher. He should have a sound social philosophy and he should make his best contribution to the society. He should know how to adjust himself to the social surroundings in which he lives. He should not be quiet, retreating and introverted. He should be free from worry, anxiety and thinking and feeling about himself. He should mix well in society to have a large body of friends and to take a helpful interest in his neighbors. Normal social life outside the school will go a long way to give him happy social adjustments.

The way of expression of thoughts in some groups of words is called language. Language is the soul of mind.

communicating with other people using sounds, symbols and words in expressing a meaning, idea or thought. This language can be used in many forms, primarily through oral and written communications as well as using expressions through body language.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE
British came in India, they considered the English necessary in the schools. Their aim was to give basic knowledge of English

The study of English became the qualification for employment and created interest amongst Indians to study more .The study of English was spread all over the country. It became requisite qualification for better and higher jobs. After India became independent, there was a feeling to remove English and replace with Hindi. But we could not remove English even after a time lapse of 5 7 years of independence. One of the reasons which continue the requirement of English is that the books mainly of science technology, inventions, research and development are in English. All the leading studies and competitions are still being carried in English English has become choice of many people who are the aspirant of good jobs where the entry is through the competitions of national level .The English is a common language .There is a necessity of English for those who have gone abroad and intend to seek jobs outside. English has been most important language and beyond doubt, it will always remain as

important. This language has taught us international understanding. If we accept regional languages or Hindi to be used and English is to be removed so we will be confined to the boundaries of the states and the country only. It is only English which act as unifying link. It is therefore, obvious that the people of India would like to continue English with Hindi. The English is taken as status symbol in our country today. Well educated people are following English as a medium of communication. It is observed that the image and necessity of English is growing day -byday.

Teaching English Language

English is an important language.
Why, its the principal language of the world! The world is getting smaller, and English is playing a very significant role in bridging the gaps. As such, teaching English to those who do not know the language is an almost philanthropic task. More and more people today are expressing an interest in learning the language. But, is teaching English to a bunch of people who have never spoken the language simple? No! Not at all!

There are 4 key skills in English Language

1. Listening 2.speaking 3.reading 4.writing

Which one of these is the "Odd-One-Out"?

Which one of these is different from the other three? The answer is speaking. The other three you can do alone, on your own, without anyone else. You can listen to the radio alone. You can read book alone. You can write a letter alone. But you can't really speak alone! That is why Achievers Academy provides you a good atmosphere of English speaking. Where you can find people who can speak English with you as well as you can improve your all the skills of English Language like listening, speaking, reading, pronunciation, writing , grammatical , communication skills etc. Achievers Academy provides different types of courses for different types of people. I took some classes and worked with sincerity devotion and meticulous effort. I taught students grammatical function with some activities, made debate, and tried to explain them by various

situations. I allowed them to speak on various topics of their interests. The results were quite amazing; they overcame the fear of speaking in front of the class. They could express themselves well, though their sentence structures were not right. I told them to speak without worrying too much about grammatical mistakes. Later, I corrected their mistakes. I made a list of activities, chores, types of work, music they like, food they enjoy eating, hobbies, etc. and let them choose what things they do, in a regular week. I listened them while speaking about their real life situations and then corrected their mistakes. I told them to choose a little passage from movies and let them act by repeating the script lines. It was fun. The idea was to let them talk more and more in English. During my internship I enjoyed very much, experienced the basic requirements of teaching and enhanced my knowledge and skills.

A FEW PRACTICAL THINGS TO IMPROVE YOUR SPOKEN ENGLISH

There are few tips that I have collected to improve Spoken English.
Tip No 1
Get comfortable with the language. Read for 20 minutes in English. It can be a newspaper, a short story, a poem, or even a novel.

Tip No - 2
Develop your written language. If you don't have the requisite vocabulary you won't be able to communicate.

Tip No - 3
Start Speaking. Try out your spoken English on anyone who will be able to respond to you. Don't be afraid of making mistakes.

Tip No - 4
Keep your ears open for the accent. Watch the English news on Television. Watch BBC for the British Accent, CNN for the American Accent and NDTV 24/7 for the urban Indian Accent.

Tip No - 5
Record yourself. Listen to your voice and catch your pronunciation mistakes. Make a deliberate effort to avoid them.

Tip No - 6
Grammar is important. The parts of speech, tenses, form of verb, articles and modals all contribute to fluency. Make an effort to learn them.

Tip No - 7
Make the Dictionary your best friend. To date I head for it when confronted with a new word. Familiarize yourself with its meaning and use it in a sentence that very day.

Tip No - 8
Have someone proficient read aloud to you. A storybook or a newspaper article will do. Watch how they move their lips while pronouncing certain words.

Tip No - 9
Learn one new word a day. To increase your active vocabulary start memorizing the meaning of a word you had heard but were not sure of. Use it regularly to absorb it into your vocabulary.

Tip No - 10
Start a Diary. It will allow you to practice the language in a totally non threatening environment. Write one entry of at least 100 words everyday.

His craze for computers was so great that within a week he surpassed the knowledge of the computer teacher. Unbelievable. THOMAS ALVA EDISON Thomas Alva Edison is considered the greatest scientist of the world. No other scientist in the world has yet got as many great inventions patented as he did. His brain power was excellent. He was a great genius. But when he was a child his teacher threw him out of the school saying that the child was very dull and could never study. Fortunately the child had a mother who understood his hidden talent. With her determination and hard work she helped son to become a great genius one of the most brilliant minds of this earth. BRAIN IS LIKE A MUSCLE Psychologists say that you can develop your mental faculties as much you want. In fact your brain is like a muscle. The more you use it the more powerful it becomes. Similarly the easiest way to destroy your brain power is not to use it. Then see how fast it deteriorates. Still to develop brain is not an easy task. We have to work very hard on it. Most of the people live in the illusion that due to the aging process mind gradually loses power. On the contrary there are people in the world whose minds function

even better in old age than the young persons. Even today most of our great politicians, scientists, businessmen, journalists and writers are old people. In fact, a human mind has unlimited energy which never gets exhausted. Scientists have discovered that if you use your mind properly you can also add years to your life. People with healthy and active brains live longer. Lazy brains die early. STIMULATING USE To remain powerful and dynamic a brain needs training and constant stimulating use. With various activities you need to exercise your mind and fill it with enthusiasm. Problems of life are actually good for your mind if you are positive and try to solve them. So dont be afraid of problems. A problem free life often makes the brain of a person dull and saps its hidden energy. The more challenges you face in your life the stronger your mind gets. PHYSICAL EXERCISE Medical scientists say that physical exercise stimulates the release of endorphins chemicals in the brain that refreshes and re-energise you, decreases stress and pain. Our brain then begins to store everything more efficiently. A second change is an alteration in the levels of neurotransmitters, brain chemicals that increase alertness and reduce strain. So make it a rule to take physical exercise five days a week. OTHER STEPS TO DEVELOP YOUR BRAIN The roots of transformation from failure to success, from disease to health lie in your brain. Brain is a marvellous creation of God. Today almost everybody is interested in developing the faculties of ones mind to maximum. Without having a powerful brain it becomes very difficult to face tough competition and move ahead towards your goals. To get a good brain take the following steps:1. The best method to improve your brain power and memory power is to use your memory as often as you can. You can start it by memorising phone nos. of your friends and relatives. Instead of finding those nos. in your diary try to recall them from your memory. 2. Read books on various topics and think analytically (think in a systematic way from different angles) .

3. Watch informative and general knowledge based programs on television - too much entertainment makes your mind lazy. Also watch discussions. 4. Creative hobbies are good to refresh and energise your brain. At least take up one such hobby - participate in debates, make paintings, make cartoons, stitch clothes in different designs, write articles, arrange files of clippings and read them time to time, read various magazines, make new scientific things etc. Pursue a hobby according to your mental inclination. 5. Learn new vocabulary every week and ask others to listen it from you. 6. Discuss with your friends or family members on different topics. It is good exercise for your brain. 7. Make a habit of thinking ideas and solving something (puzzles, sums, problems whatever you like). 8. Have an aim in life and work very hard to achieve it. When you have an aim in life your mind has to work hard to achieve it. Consequently it gains power. 9. Keep fix hours of sleeping. Dont sleep too much or during day. 10. Learn to keep your mind relaxed with the help of meditation. It will think better and work smartly.

Business is a game of influencing people to hit your goals. Without influencing the people in a way they want no businessman has got big success in the history. And the art of influencing people comes with learning a few techniques, experience and careful planning. It is one of the most important arts people in business need to learn. Amazingly no university in the world has introduced such a course. Hundreds of human engineering masters like Dale Carnegie devoted their whole life in learning and developing this art and taught this world so many things. However with the changing trends in human relations and business there is always something new to learn. The best strategy is always formulated by brewing the new with a mix of the good old thoughts. 1. Know the Nature Although it is necessary to understand the psychology of people but you need not be a psychologist to get success in human relations. Psychologists are learned and have thorough understanding of human nature but they may prove bad businessmen. Delving deep into psychology won't be much helpful. Observe the success of big companies. They spend lot money in R & D. Every year they bring new models or updated versions of the old ones. According to law of economics abundance of anything lowers its value and price. If you want to attract others to you or your company you must offer something new and unique. This is also the base of most of the collaborations in business. 4. Win their Trust with Sincerity In modern business world people are not only clever but also well-informed. You can't befool them. So be sincere either it is convincing about your products/services or a business deal. Never lie about anything otherwise in future it may rebound to you with double force and tarnish your reputation. Show the people both negative and positive sides or your proposal or idea. Though you must emphasise the positive aspects more. The people who win trust with sincerity today gain more business and more money in tomorrow. 5. Touch the Nerve of Self Interest Psychologists say that a person is more interested in himself than in others or what is happening outside. You can't force people to do a thing properly till they are interested. Tell in detail how your product or idea is going to be immensely beneficial for them. They must develop an interest in it. In brief if you appeal to the self-interest of a person you can win his heart to your side. 6. Find Common Grounds Engage people in talks on various topics and find out the topics or fields which they are fond of talking. When you find a couple of common grounds to talk your company will be enjoyed more by the people. Everybody feels happy to have fun of expression with a person of similar tastes. 7. Be a Master Speaker See accomplished businessmen on TV. Most of them are suave and good speakers. They know how to construct their sentences and speak in brief. With bad sentences, poor vocabulary, grammatical errors, or hesitation it is difficult to impress others. You not only repel useful people but scuttle business deals also. You need a command over your language, adequate vocabulary to express the right meaning, and assertiveness in speaking. If necessary get training from a good institute 8. Speak in a Convincing Tone

If you are confident and speak in convincing tone people get impressed. You seem so sure of yourself. Also provide logic to your points. Give facts and testimonials. Business people are affected more with the real picture and the truth than with emotions. 9. Shower Compliments Right compliments are real people mover. Everybody has certain qualities of which he is proud of. Many people are proud of certain materialistic things. Observe and understand them. Often make genuine compliments. It the easiest and the best way to make friends, and get the work done. 10. Listen with Interest Good listeners are liked by everyone. And when you listen with interest you really become a welcome company. Actually listening is more difficult than good speaking. People love to express their point of view and expect you to understand it in right perspective. If you are not attentive they lose interest in you. Then it becomes almost impossible to have any business deal with them. 11. Never Show an Attitude of Arrogance You have achieved certain goals. In your opinion your ideas are wonderful. And it may make you arrogant. Some people are habitually arrogant. They always think that only they are right. Arrogant people are actually a sort of terror for others. It is not easy to negotiate or have a good business talk with them. So be humble and polite. Be diplomatic. Don't argue arrogantly with the people in business. They will run away a mile from you. 12. Use Visuals to Enhance Performance Though talking well is the best form to influence people yet visuals aids like charts, picture, and videos play a great part in changing the mind of the people to your way of thinking. Use them as much as you can. 13. Get Endorsement by Specialists In modern world people have belief on experts. If you are publishing a health magazine you must have a team of experts in your editorial team. If you want to open a cricket club you must have a cricket expert as a coach. Whatever you say or sell you need an endorsement by experts to convince or influence people. People take the experts seriously. Tell others what several specialists are saying about

your idea. 14. Show Your Success People will be more convinced with your logic if you show that your idea is successful elsewhere. Others are liking it and getting benefited. It is psychology of the people that like to enter that showroom which is already having some visitors. People go for popular products thinking that if others are buying it the quality may be good. 15. Good Timing is Important Good timing depends on your observation and common sense. If a businessman is shattered with death of someone or big losses in business you can't propose an idea of opening a picnic resort. Your idea will immediately be rejected and you will be shown the door probably never to be seen again. Or think about serving great refreshment to a person who has just taken his lunch or dinner. You may be doing a good deed still the effect will be opposite because your timing is wrong. Discuss a plan, a project or a proposal when the timing is right and the concerned person is in a receptive mood. Most of the times you will be satisfied with the result.
