Okefenokee Toastmasters Salute All Fire Responders

Toastmasters want to say a special thank you to the responders from all 47 states who have given up the comfort of their home to help control our fires. The group in this photo was gathered on July 5, 2011 on their way to the fire just minutes before the start of our 7:00 am meeting. They are all from the State of Montana and are a sampling of our heroes. (Photo courtesy of Barbara Rolls)

Speech Topic Ideas

How about presenting a speech about a music video or a speech inspired by pop song lyrics? What ideas for a speech can you come up with after watching, Barbadian- born singer, Rihannas controversial video Man Down, or watching Lady Gagas performance of Born This Way, or listening to the song lyrics of Creep by Radiohead, a British alternative rock band?
Area Governor, Sharon Vickers, inducting Okefenokee Toastmasters club officers on July 5, 2011. From L. to R.: Sharon Vickers,
Barbara Rolls, President; Bud Montero, VP of Education, Janice Williams, VP of Public Relations; Preston Hardee with gavel in hand, Secretary; and Larry Kearson, Master Party host; oops I meant Sergeant-of- Arms. By the way, the word of the day posted on the lectern was Pizazz.

Speech topics are everywhere. Get more ideas from the Toastmasters website.
