One creative technique is to sing the HU. The HU can be sung several ways. One is H-U or, after youve taken a breath and relaxed, just as HUUUUU. And you hold that U out for the full length of your breath. This HU is to train the attention to stay fixed on the spiritual eye at the Temple Within, and the attention on the inner ear. This transports soul to the higher spiritual regions. In this comfortable position, keep the attention on the inner window, placing soul (awareness) a few feet behind your head. There is always someone trying to bring us down to their level of consciousness. We can be on guard as to the intentions of others and still love them. After a tour like this, I have to do something about my blood stream. There is a limit that you can put on the physical body. In being a co-worker, you do not care about the physical body. You let Spirit direct you, each step of the way, and lead the life of Spirit. October 1972

There is but one way to experience this power of God and that is consciously to contact IT. This cannot be done in the outer because Spirit manifests from within. The Mahanta will meet you in this holy temple. Only as one turns from the outside to the silence of the temple within, can one ever hope to make conscious oneness with God. The continued search for God is not easy for most and when the revelation of God does come, it is something so entirely different from what was

expected that if a person is honest, he will have to confess that it is beyond the understanding of the human mind. It is only after fine corroboration, for he himself has discovered as it is presented in a thousand different ways, through the spoken and written word, and when living with IT for years and years does it ultimately register. It is only self-recognition that one is seeking and understanding that a small part of God makes up your own Soul. The best exercise for spiritual healing is one which the student can rely upon. Begin by sitting upright in a straight-backed chair, feet flat on the floor. Take a half-dozen deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling slowly with each breath. Close the eyes and pull chin inwardly; let the mind go blank. After a few moments, start relaxing and giving up everything within ones self to the Inner Master. Chapter 9 Freedom

It is as though man has become frozen in time and needs to break out of the frozen atmosphere that is so set within him, such as conditions and ideas imposed upon him by philosophies and religious teachings. Man must learn to go within to the inner worlds to reach God. The ATOM

We as human beings must turn loose of the thing we cling to on the outer physical world and our private, secret worlds within. That which man and woman are able to know with their human mentality, whether a thing or a thought, is not God. Spiritual Focus Newsletter, 1984

Should you desire to be other than what you are, you can create an ideal of the type of person you want to be and assume that you are already that sort of person. One of the old metaphysical statements are: If youll hold this assumption

in mind until it becomes a dominant feeling, the attainment of your ideal is inevitable. June 1978

To help you in mastering your attention, the following exercise is only to bridge the gap for those who may need a stronger link with the Inner Master. This bridge is from Soul to the mind. This is not to replace the spiritual exercises. Each night just before you drift off to sleep, strive to hold your thoughts on the activities of the day in the reverse order. Put your attention on the last thing you did, i.e., like taking off your slippers or robe before getting into bed, and then move it backwards in time over the events until you reach the first event of the day after waking up that morning. This practice is not easy but just as a specific spiritual exercise, it will help in developing your attention and memory. By bridging this gap, this will help in developing the focus of your attention on the Living Master. April 1979

When asked to define the difference between imagination and spiritual experiences, Darwin said, One is reality and the other merely imagination. It is equally difficult to separate hallucination from spiritual experience, and thus

To reach the state of God Consciousness we do not use denials, affirmations, prayer, rituals nor any of the many other forms of outer discipline. None of these can help us, for we must strive to reach perfection through the spiritual Exercises. Tradition, habit, customs, environment and heredity will imprison anyone, leaving him unable to do the work in disciplining the inner self. Remember this is not a mental discipline, it is a discipline of the emotional feelings and imaginative forces. May 1972

The great secret is controlled imagination and a well sustained attention firmly and repeatedly focused on the object to be accomplished. No one but you can motivate yourself to do something for Spirit. The individual must choose this on his own, having confidence in himself and the desire to spread the message, then laying out a plan and contemplating upon it, then dedicating himself to achieving the goal. By chanting the many names of God you are able to purify thought and the mind. Then youll find that living in the physical world takes on a completely different feeling for you. September 1973

Many people in the United States as well as in Europe and Asia think that negative things will happen to them when they get their initiations or when they spiritually unfold. As long as you keep thinking this, it will happen. If you say or think to yourself that by means of spiritual unfoldment and the spiritual exercises itll be better than it was in the past, then it will be so. One has to help himself a little here. People are being taught to hurry, and keep up with our busy world, instead of finding a few minutes each day for ourselves. The members of the path find this time during contemplation exercises for a half-hour each day. February 1978

For that person who practices Zikar, or audible life stream, find that they have not only a guidepost, but they have an audible, tangible sound, so they can tell where theyre at. In practicing the Zikar, whether it be the word of the plane that person might be working on or from, or developing that sound current within himself,

In practicing the Zikar, remember the Light always comes first, and many times the Darshan, or the meeting of the Master, the Starthe Blue Star when this does take place. It can be a blob of blue or a star itself, and can be seen subjectively or objectively; know that you have been blessed and follow it, but not in the physical. September 1973

Chapter 10 Goals of ATOM

If your world falls in, set the books and discourses aside for now, just live your life. We are the source of our own discomfort. October 1972

There are three prime initiations one can receive from the Master, be it your desire. The first takes place in the dream state between the individual and the Inner Master. The second is the Light and Sound Initiation, after a time of study with the Master, at least a year to 1-1/2 years as a current Subscriber who receives the monthly discourses. However, this is your own choice, should you wish to take the Light and Sound Initiation. This allows you to be placed in soul, on the soul plane as swiftly as possible, to unfold spiritually through the worlds of duality, ruled by the negative forces. The initiation is a secret spiritual ceremony, which will enable the individual to unfold spiritually. However, one must put forth some effort, for you are only given the opportunitythe rest is up to you. September 1990

The third initiation given is the soul Initiation, after a period of study at the golden wisdom temples in the dual worlds, usually at least two to five years, should one be a current discourse subscriber to the discourses. Through the spiritual contemplation, this initiation takes place on the soul plane in soul, and

allows the individual to unfold into the higher planes, should he or she be ready and the desire to continue on this great path be strong enough. September 1990

As one grows in spiritual knowledge, he learns to let go of the selfdelusions and vanities, the five passions of the mind. One will realize that the proud individual is unable to be taught. Then will he know that only the humble can perceive the truth. The spiritual foundation of the individual, he must know that his feet are more firm than the rocks of the Earth. Some have wondered, what are the benefits of having a spiritual guide, a Vairagi Master to work with on the inner planes, and also studying of the discourses on the outer. First there is the spiritual guidance. A lot of people misunderstand this point, and look for their physical life to be taken care of. There are some attributes that come into your physical life, however, you cant count on them; you cant turn loose of your life and say, Well, its in the hands of Spirit. If Spirit wants me to have this or that car, or this or that house, itll be given to me. Not so. Many people dont understand this. In these teachings there is no discrimination between men and women. Women have become priestesses for the past six million years. To use sex indiscriminately, to leave one mate to marry another or to go from one to another, thinking one has spiritual freedom, often is only to become involved in another state of affairs better known as negative karma. Therefore, one has not gained much spiritual freedom by the exchange of mates. Chapter 11 Guidance and Protection

What a lot of us as individuals tend to forget and ignore, is that tomorrow morning is a bright new day. And what has happened today and yesterday needs to be forgotten and left in the past, and not brought up. And this is not easy many times for us in the human state, in the physical body. One who becomes a vehicle for Spirit will let Spirit use their physical self without directing what or where or how it should be used. Most of the spiritual seekers today and yesterday think that, inasmuch as the power we are seeking and hoping to use is spiritual, that makes its use legitimate. But what we are really doing is expecting the spiritual power to do exactly what we have relied upon bombs to do. Do not become deluded into believing that it is possible to find some undiscovered power to do what the already discovered powers are failing to do. We are not going to find a spiritual power to destroy or overcome anything. Instead we are going to overcome the belief that there is a good or evil in any effect or in any form. Another benefit is spiritual protection. No harm can come to you when you fill yourself with Divine Love and control the imagination through the Radiant Form of the Inter Master. The negative or dark forces cannot withstand the Divine Light and Sound of God; each of us must protect ourselves up to some point with Divine Light. October, 1984

When the student becomes an aspirant upon studying the discourses, be can expect the Master to become as much a part of him, and guide him as much inwardly as the highest initiate.
