Acoustic Graduate Cambridge

From its offices in Europe, Australia, North America, the Middle East and Asia, the group advises clients on building acoustics, environmental acoustics, noise mapping, vibration and audio-visual design. In the UK, the group has over twenty staff members in six offices. We are now looking for an exceptional, engaged and talented graduate acoustician to strengthen our acoustics office in Cambridge. Specialising in the acoustics of buildings, with particular emphasis on studio and auditorium design, electroacoustics, vibration and measurement and analysis, you will be a key contributor to the high-end design as well as providing assistance to the other offices in the UK and abroad. Candidates should hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in acoustics or a related numerate subject. Candidates will be driven by a passion for acoustic science and engineering. Good skills in mathematics and analysis techniques are advantageous, as are programming skills (e.g. Matlab) and knowledge of acoustic software (ray tracing, FEA, SEA). Candidates will be using these skills to help develop and implement innovative techniques for the group. In consulting engineering, a range of non-technical skills are also very important. Strong communication skills are an asset when engaging with other designers and clients. Your practical and organisational talents will be called upon when producing reports or undertaking site measurements. A willingness to travel and occasionally work out-of-hours is also needed.
