Vivekanandha Institute of Engineering and Technology for women was started in the year 2006 under the auspices of Angammal Educational Trust with the objective to impart high quality education in engineering and technology to the younger generation with the required skills and abilities to face the challenges needed for the industry. LABORATORY The college has well equipped laboratories in the departments of Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Science & Humanities, Basic Engineering. The computer labs in all the departments are networked and provided with internet facility to enrich the students knowledge.

SCHOLARSHIP Various Scholarships offered by the Central Government and the State Government are available for eligible students who belong to BC,MBC and SC/ST categories. The students who wish to avail the scholarship may contact the office for the applications.
LIBRARY The college library is presently having 15,100 volumes and more than 150 journals and magazines of National & International publishers. In addition to the hard copy journals, our college is having membership with AICTE-INDEST Consortium to subscribe IEL online and IEEE explore journals. OVERDUES A fine of 50 paise per day per book will be charged as over dues.
INTERNET CENTER The college has an internet center to cater to the needs of staff members and students. To provide computing and internet facilities to all staff and students internet facility is extended round the clock.
VIVEKANANDHA TALENT TEST (VTT) Our management conducts Vivekanandha Talent Test (VTT) every year in the month of April to select meritorious and economically backward students for admission into Engineering, Arts, Science & Paramedical Courses. Those selected students are provided with 100% tution fee concession through out the course of study. The cost incurred to management for this fee concession is around 4 crores . In addition to that management is kind enough to provide fee concession every year to the students under the following categories: a) b) c) d) e) Parents less students Students who have lost their earning parents during the courses of study. Physically challenged students. Students of physically challenged parents. State level & national level players.
FREE TRANSPORT Our management is running a fleet of more than 250 buses and vans to provide FREE TRANSPORT to all the students of our Vivekanandha Educational Institutions to the radius of 90 kms, covering Erode, Tirupur, Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Dindugul & Karur Dist.,
BUS TIMINGS Students from various locations can avail the bus facilities on all routes. Bus timings are planned so that the buses reach the college premises in time. Arrival time - 9.20 a.m
TESTS For the periodical internal test(I,II,III),question papers will be set as per Anna University pattern. Students performance report will be sent to the parents after every test is conducted. If any student secures less than 50% marks in any test, her parent will be called and discussed, by the class advisor and HOD.
DEPARTMENT ASSOCIATIONS Associations of CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, MCA, MBA, ASD, S&H departments were established with a vision to enhance the skill of budding engineering and Management Graduates & Science Graduates to keep them abreast with all the latest developments in the field of engineering & technology. Associations serve as a platform to conduct Seninars, workshops, Guest lecturers and Symposia. INDUSTRIAL VISIT Industrial visit will be arranged at atleast once in a year for each class.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Youth Red Cross (YRC) & National Service Scheme (NSS) will establish activities, related to social services in and around the institution. INDIAN SOCIETY FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION (ISTE)/IET The college has an institutional membership in ISTE/IET student chapter of ISTE/IET students can become the member of student chapter.
SPORTS DAY/COLLEGE DAY The college conducts sports day/college day every year to nurture the extra curricular and sports activities.
DEBATE & QUIZ CLUB These will be conduct programmer at regular intervals to enhance the skills of students. Students should register their name with the club in charge concerned.
HOSTEL Well furnished hostels are suited inside the the college campus the rooms are available for all students, the hostel provides hygienic pure vegetarian food using the latest stem cooking technology. The hostel has regular supply of cold and hot water with parallel tap system. Purified water is supplied for drinking purpose. On demand, special rooms with attached bath room are also provided to the inmates.
SUGGESTION BOX The management has installed suggestion boxes in the college and in the hostel. The students and staff members may use the box for the representation of their genuine problems /grievances to the management. Management will be happy to receive suggestion for the improvement of the institution.
CANTEEN The college canteen caters to the taste of the students and the staff with fresh and hygienic food. The canteen provides eatables, fruit juice, soft drinks, and stationary items. The users should collect the token to receive the items. The canteen is fitted with televisions for relaxation.
BANK Indian Overseas Bank has its extension counter with ATM facility within the campus. The students and the staff can utilize the services of the bank.
OTHER FACILITIES
The college and the hostel uninterrupted power supply with power generators. All laboratories have UPS for continuous functioning. A mineral water plant is installed for the supply of drinking water to the college and the hostel round the clock. There is STD center with multi-lines in the campus for the use of students and staff.
HOSPITAL The management sponsors an Eye care hospitals and a General hospital. They are dedicated to medical services. Sick students will be treated in the hospital.
LAPTOP The college is arranging to provide each student a laptop on concession of price. In order to maintain the function of laptop, a exclusive laptop service Engineers from WIPRO & HP will be available for servicing laptop.
EVRON VIRTUAL EDUCATION Our college has made an agreement with EVRON to provide VIRTUAL EDUCATION to all the needy student to pursue certificate courses in C, C++, C#, .Net & Java Programming. MoU Our college has signed MoU with the following organization & bodies inorder to strengthen industry Institute Intracktion (III) M/s. WIPRO, HCL, CODISSIA, ORACLE UNIVERSITY, SPB, & BSNL,
NEWS LETTER & MAGAZINE Our college releases Newsletter TECH NEWS once in 6 months. In this News letter events conducted, paper presented & program attended during the period under review will be carried out. Similarly even year Tech magazine is released in in the name of Zebulon .

To Monitor the academic activities and discipline of the Student s Strictly in order to achieve the best output .

Time Management Monitoring the Students arrival in time to the college in the morning & after lunch Students Punctuality to the college is to be monitored by having surprise check regularly. If and student found to be late to the college in the morning (9.30 am) or after lunch (1.30 p.m) snatch the student ID card immediately and handover to AMC. Students are not permitted to come outside the class during theory / Practical hours for any purpose excluding class representative.

Scrutinizing attendance Probe the daily attendance and percentage of attendance at the end of every month *The daily attendance report of student s is to be submitted to the AMC before 10.00 am and the same will be submitted to the Principal by AMC. *The monthly attendance percentage should be submitted to AMC on time and the students who are having lagging of attendance will be properly counseled by the respective tutors suitably.

Internal Examination Performance Analysis The Internal examination will be conducted as per the University pattern and the performance of each student will be analyzed. The Student progress report of each test will be sent to the parents regularly.

Remedial Action Relevant action will be executed based on attendance and performance of the students.
TIME MAINTENANCE * * Faculty should mark the attendance within five minutes of the class commencement. Any student found to be late, the first hour faculty mark absent for subsequent hours (half day) The late coming student get the ID card after approval by the principal on the same day.
ATTENDANCE * Each student can avail a maximum leave of 9 days per semester and the same can be permitted by class advisor and HOD.
If any student absent to the class more than 3 days, she must bring the parent on the next day. If any student absent after the holidays and if exceeds 9 days, she must bring the parent on the next day. If the leave / absent extends the limit (9 days), her leave / absent will not be entertained by HOD and those student s sent to the Principal directly with HOD remarks.
INTERNAL TEST / MODEL EXAM ATTENDANCE * If any student absent for the test, her test mark entered as Zero for that test and no retest will be conducted.
MALPRACTICE * If any student found to be having any written materials / talking with neighbor during the test, the invigilator should not permit the student to write the exam further, note the remarks / attach the proof in the answer sheet with student signature. The Student will be sent to the AMC for further action.
DISCIPLINE: Every student is required to observe discipline and decorum, behavior both inside and outside the college and not to indulge in any activity which will tend to bring down the prestige of the college.

HOSTEL :
Adequate Hostel facilities are available. Students seeking admission to the hostel may contact the warden. Hostellers are not allowed to vacate they hostel in the mid year. In certain conditions, if they are allowed, they must pay the bus fees to come as day scholars. Students should maintain the mass timings. MESS TIMINGS : Breakfast Lunch Evening refreshment : Supper MESS FEES REDUCTION RULES : : 07.30 am to 09.00 am : 12.40 pm to 01.30 pm 03.30 pm to 05.00 pm : 07.30 pm to 08.30 pm
Dividing system is followed in billing. Reduction will be calculated only for the current month allowed as follows :
Leave for consecutive five days one day reduction in mess fee. Leave for consecutive 7 days and above full reduction in mess fee.
Mess fee reduction will be given only when the holidays are going to be a minimum of 4 days. No reduction in the mess fee will be given for the 2nd & 4th Saturdays and Sundays. Full mess reduction will be given for the days , which is falling between the last day of the university exam and commencement of the next semester.

Admission to hostel is on first come, first served basis Before the admission, Students should read the rules and regulations of the hostel. Hostellers can vacate the hostel in the mid of year after paying fees up to the semester/ Term of their stay. If they want to vacate, they should get the bus pass. Hostel rent once paid will not be refunded or adjusted. The hostellers shall leave the hostel only after getting permission from the warden. The inmates cannot change their rooms without the permission of the warden. Hostel students should wear only churidhar with shawl in the college campus. Nighties can be used in the hostel room & on the corresponding floor of their stay. The inmates should carefully / properly handle the room accessories like table, chair and other things. On no account they should remove or exchange them will others. At the time of leaving the hostel, students have to handover the accessories in proper condition to the warden, otherwise the actual charge along with fine will be recovered as per instruction of the warden. Hostellers are allowed to use the telephone in the timings mentioned below : On Week days : 7.00.p.m to 10.30 pm. On Sundays : 8.00.a.m to 1.00 pm & 2.00.p.m to 5.00 pm.

Whenever leaving the room, the inmates should switch off the lights / fans and other electric instruments. To go to home on emergency grounds, a leave letter duly signed by the warden along with proof of fax and confirmation over phone from the parent is must. Silence and good conduct must always be maintained. No student should have any quarrel or even argument with the mess servants. Complaints if any can be made to the warden. No students should enter the kitchen under any circumstances. Hostel students should avail the holidays given by the management and they should be available in the college on the reopening day without fail. Students are not permitted to take the food in their rooms. Students should not conduct any function or meeting without the knowledge of the warden inside the hostel. They should not put up anything on the notice board or at any other place. Without the knowledge of the warden. Without permission from the warden/Deputy warden, hostellers should not participate in any activities in other organizations.

Inmates are not permitted to have huge sum of money or gold and other costly ornaments in their rooms. The management will not hold any responsibility for the loss of things if any. The warden has the right to inspect the belongings of any student at any time. All the students have to keep silence during the compulsory silence hours from 8.30 p.m to 12.00 p.m. Hostellers should not disturb their fellow students in their studies. During the working hours of the college, students should not stay in the rooms without permission from the warden/Deputy warden and principal. I-pod and Laptop are permitted for usage in the hostel. Students returning from home should reach the hostel before 7.00 pm. Late comers will be permitted with intimation to their parents over phone. After 7.00 pm visitors will not be allowed to enter the hostel. Only the parents can take the relatives and members (other than visitor s card person) with them inside the college, during the visiting hours along with the visitor s card. Electrical instruments are not allowed inside the hostel. Visitors should bring their visitors card. Otherwise they will not be allowed. After entering inside the college campus all the hostellers should get the gate pass for going out of the hostellers should get the gate pass for going out of the campus. Without gate pass nobody should go by college bus. For outing, Students can go out with the parents (father & Mother) during the visiting hours but they should return with the parents before 7.00 pm. Visitors are not allowed to enter the student s room. Students with SEND ALONE or SEND WITH FRIENDS permission a) On leaving the hostel, students should go only to their home. At any cost, they should not go to any other relative or friends houses. If they do so, severe action will be taken and SEND ALONE or SEND WITH FRIENDS permission will be cancelled. Telephone message, fax message and letters will be accepted only after confirmation over phone by the warden or class advisor or HOD with the parents concerned for permitting students to leave the hostel on emergency basis. Students will be sent home only during the holidays declared by the college. On emergency occasions, during working days, students can be allowed to leave the hostel with their parents or visitors as mentioned in the visitor s card. For this hostel warden permission is sufficient.

Student letters will be delivered after scruitinisation by the warden. Parents should avoid sending money through courier service. For any loss, the management will not be responsible.

If the students have to continue any medical treatment in the hostel, the warden/deputy warden must be informed about it. The possession / use of cell phone is not permitted in the premises. If cell phone is found, it will be seized and joint apology letter from student and parent should be submitted to the principal. However other state students are permitted to carry cell phone during their journey time and they should handover the cell phone to the warden when they enter the hostel. Acknowledgement for the receipt of cell phone will be given by the warden.

32. Students must make their entries in the incoming register at once they enter the hostel. 33. 34. Students are strictly prohibited to scribble or paste anything on the hostel walls. Hostel students should not go in college bus unless they get permission and gate pass from the warden. Hostel students should not come as day scholars during college working days. If it is found out severe action will be taken against them.

A Student is permitted to appear for the semester examination. i. ii. If she satisfies the semester completion requirements. If she register for examination in all course of that semester and for all arrear paper (if any).
4) PASSING REQUIREMENTS: A Student who secures not less than 50% of total marks prescribed for the
course with a minimum of 45% of the marks prescribed for the end semester University Examination in both theory and practical courses (including project work), shall be declared to have passed in the examination. If a student fails to secure a pass in a particular course,it is mandatory that she shall register and appear for the examination in that course the subsequent semester examination, until she secure a pass. However, the internal assessment marks obtained by the candidate in the first attempt shall be retained and considered valid for all subsequent attempts.
A student shall be declared to be eligible for the award of the B.E / B.Tech Degree provided the student has, i. Successfully completed the course requirement and has passed all the prescribed examination in all the 8 semesters (6 semesters for lateral entry) with in a maximum period of 7 years (6 years for lateral entry) recokoned from the commencement of the first semester to which the candidate was admitted. ii. No disciplinary action pending against the student. iii. The award of degree must have been approved by the syndicate of the university.
6) CLASSIFICATION OF THE DEGREE AWARDED: A candidate who qualifies for the award of the degree having passed the examination in all courses of all the eight semester (six semesters for lateral entry) in her first appearance within eight consecutive semester (six for lateral entry) securing an aggregate of not less than 75% of total marks in all the courses in the final six semesters shall be declared to have passed the examination in First class with Distinction. A student who qualifies for the award of the degree having passed the examination (all the six semester for lateral entry) within a maximum period of eight consecutive semesters after her commencement of study in the third semester (from first semester for lateral entry) securing an aggregate of not less than 60% of total marks shall be declared to have passed the examination in first class. All other candidates shall be declared as they have passed the examination in second class. 7) MARKS ALLOTMENT

8) REVISION OF REGULATION AND CURRICULUM: The university may from time to time revise, amend or change the Regulations, Scheme of examination and syllabus if found necessary. RAGGING PREVENTION RULES EXTRACT OF ACT NO.7 OF 1997 An Act to prohibit Ragging in educational Institutions in the state of Tamil Nadu. Short title, extent and commencement 1. This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Ragging Act 1997. 2. It extends to the whole the state of Tamil Nadu. 3. It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 19th day of December 1996.
PROHIBITION OF RAGGING: Ragging within or outside the educational institution is prohibited. PENALTY FOR RAGGING: Who ever directly or indirectly commits ,participates in, abets or propagates, ragging within or outside any Educational Institution,shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years and shall also be liable to a fine which may extend to ten thousand rupees. DISMISSAL OF STUDENT: Any student convited of an offence under section 4 shall also be dismissed from the Educational Institution and such student shall not be admitted in any other Educational Institution.
SUSPENSION OF STUDENT:
1. Without prejudice to the foregoing provisions, whenever any student complaints of ragging to be Head of an Educational Institution, or to any other person responsible for the management of the Educational Institution, such head of the Educational Institution or person responsible for the management of the Educational Institution shall enquire into the same immediately and if found true shall suspend the student, who has committed the offence, from the Educational Institution. 2. The decision of the Head of the Educational Institution or the person responsible for the management of the Educational Institution that any student has indulged in ragging under sub-section (1) shall be final.
