On 30 September 2007 , Ashin Htarwara left Rangoon for his home to go into hiding wearing layman clothes after having taken off his robe, he stayed with his parents. On the first waning day of Thidinkyut , the General Secretary of All Burma Monks Assocition and villagers offered donation (food,drinks,etc,) in lotus leaves to the prisoners at the Phyarpon Township Naungtawgyi prison Department in commemoration of the monks, nuns, students and people who lost their lives during the Saffron Tevolution that night, lighted candles were offered along the Irrawaddy Stream ( or That Night , lighted candles were floated down the Irrawaddy Stream). I red a government sponsored newspaper which report that on 25 October, Thura Myint Maung from the Ministry of Religious Affairs told the Reverends that those taken pari in the September monks protest were fake monks; because of this, restrictions were imposed in fifferent regions and the authorities were searching for some monks to make arrests, insulting Buddhism.

At 10.00 p.m on 1,11,2007, forty personals including members of USDA, Lord of the power, Phyapon town authority, Villager Chairman Ko Thein Win raided houses. On 2.11.2007 , I had to leave my hometown to fleet to somewhere else. On 3.11.07, I hid in the ward resided by the poor in Pyarpon. On 4.11.2007 morning, irrived at Thankan Shan Kwingyi village. On 10.1.2007 with the help of Thankan Shan Kwingyi village NLD members, I went to Kyaiklat by boat. On 15.11.2007, the authority, USDA and lord of the power members raided the house at Myoma Street, Kyaiklat and stayed inside this house for more than two hours. i escaped barely in time after being tipped off by a conscientious citizen in the

ward.

On 15.11.2007, I left Kyaiklat for Maubin which is 20 miles away. On 26.11.07 I left Maubinn for Sarmalauk cross Road while wering layman clothes. The NLD members were waiting for me and with them I went to Hinthada in the evening of 16.11.2007. Unexpectedly, I secretly met and discussed with more than 100 people in Hinthada as arranged by NLD members. I left Hinthada in the evening by sleeping in Hinthada as arranged by NLD members. However, with the help of the people, I escaped and hid in the Rakhine Mountain Ranges. On 20.11.2007 , with the help of Taungok Township Organisar, U Kyaw Khine, I arrived at Sarpyin village. On 25.11.2007 Taungok Township, Ma Ii Township officer in charge, USDA and Lord of the power members arrived in two cars and searched the houses in the village. However, with the help of the villagers, I went into the jungle and hid there. On 30.11.2007 , I lost consciousness when I suffered malaria inficted fever in the jungle. Because of this, with the help of NLD members, a doctor from Taungok came into the jungle and gave me injection for two days. So I felt a little better: on 5.12.2007, I arrived at a monastery. On 12.12.2007, the monastery was raided by the authority acting on the tip.

I escaped barely in time by running into and hiding in the sugar cane field. In the night of 12.12.2007 I left the monastery and moved into the village. On 12.12.2007, I arrived at the village monastery ( I think this one is inside the village, translator). At the request of the village Monastery Abbot, I secretly gave a sermon in order to organize young people.

On 18.12.2007, I went into hiding in the village. I continued giving my sermons to the people. At midnight on 25.12.2007, with the arrangement of the village monastery, I gave a sermon to young people to organize them. At midnight 30.12.2007,I secretly did the same with the help of the Reverend of the village monastery. I risked my life, fleeing by car, by motor cycle, by motor boat or on foot. I travelled along streams and across the ocean. On 10..2008, I left Taungok by sea and was in the Bay of Bengal. I learnt from the seamen a metaphor describing the coming of large waves. Crossing the ocean on seeing this is

dangerous. Because we could not cross the ocean under this circumstance, we took shelter at the Man Aung island for more than a week. Only after jasmine flower like ripples disappeared, we were allowed to cross the ocean. Ashin Htarwara celebrated his 24 birthday in the ocean like this. On 22 January, I arrived at Myitnar village Athawka monastery in Bangladesh. On 23rd I arrived at phalaungchaik monastery and resided there. On 24.1.2008, I went to Dakkar to claim political asylum at the UNHCR office.
