Im Linda Lestari from Vocational School 1 Padaherang.Im standing in front of you to deliver a speech entitled The Book Can Open Our Insight. Ladies and gentlemen, the book is information source that unlimited. In every book that we read, like a story book, magazine, newspaper, lesson book, etc. It can give us many things that can add our knowledge. The people always said that the book is warehouse of science, by reading a book we can know about everything in the world. Tantowi Yahya as a National Read Ambassador said that someone who doesnt like read the book near with stupidity. Its very important for us to read the book, so we will not be left with other countries. One of book that can add our knowledge is Indonesian Encyclopedia. Its include about Indonesian history, the world history. Beside that by reading a book, we can add our vocabulary, know the new words and practise our skill about grammar. As we know, many books are trade in the book shop, market or in the flea market. That is too easy for finding it. But, many people give less attention to read. Because, the book price is too expensive. But, you dont lose hope and less interest to read, do you? Because, we can find the book in the flea market, the book price is cheaper than in the book store. So, we will get the book easily. There are many kind of books, we can choose according our necessaries. Ladies and gentlemen, in the Noble Quran, we know the first of Verse to Come down from Allah is insight. Im standing in front of you to deliver a speech entitled The Government Should Stop Importing Rice From Other Countries. Ladies and gentlemen, Indonesia is recognizable as an agraris country and has large agriculture field. In the past, Indonesia could fulfil the home country neccessity and could export rice to other countries, but now the government should import rice from other countries. The government decision about importing rice is evidence that the government doesnt sides to the farmers. Should be question how the government sides with farmers actually? With import rice, the government in a direct manner reduced the farmers income. The government said that they want to raise the poverty. In the fact, the poor farmers more increase, its caused by the price of sell of unhulled rice for the farmers are decreased that their income are decreased automatically. According to Mr. Siswono Yudhohusodo statement from daily Pikiran Rakyat on November 6th,2006 said that import was done, it wasnt, because the lack of rice. But, because of the Bulog mismanagement. If the Bulog management true, when the big harvest, Bulog should buy unhulled rice from the farmers as many as possible, although with risk the high price. The Bulog duty is buy the unhulled rice when the big harvest is happened and then make it as national stock that can be sold to market when famine times. And then safe the price at the farmers level. Ladies and gentlemen, its better for the government to think how to increase the farmers production than importing rice,with note the price should beneficial for the farmers. If the price is good, the farmers will creative to plant the rice. But, if the sell price that they are gotten is plunged, because the wisdom of import rice, they dont want to increase their production. Let alone, to process and plant rice in the swamp acreage. In acreage that be good irrigated, they wont plant rice. So,If the Government permit Bulog for importing rice to other countries, its same with Bulog give the Indonesian people money to the abroad farmers. Even, the home country farmers need to be endeavored. Thats all I want to say to you. May peace and success be always on us. Thank you for your attention.
