Lab Sessions The teaching assistant will conduct two lab sessions every week (room TBD). The lab sessions will focus only on SAP simulator, Excel and Access. Attendance in these lab sessions is not mandatory but highly recommended. WileyPlus (SAP Simulator) Assignments Each assignment/simulation will first walk you through the specific business process using a simulated version of the SAP software. After this guided simulation, you will be asked to repeat the steps in the business process. However, the simulator will NOT give you visual and text instructions. Therefore, you may wish to take some notes as you go through the visually aided simulation.

WileyPlus Quizzes A graded quiz will follow each simulation assignment. Please note the due dates and times for each quiz in the table above. It will be difficult to score well on the quiz without doing the simulation assignment. Quizzes taken after the due date will incur a 50% reduction in grade. The following rules apply to the WileyPlus quizzes. Students have up to 3 attempts per question. Students have 1 submit attempt for the quiz. If you need to log-off before submitting the quiz, any questions you have already submitted are saved and you only need to complete the remainder. Group Research/Project Presentation You will work in a small group and create a presentation based on your research as well as a small project. Details will be discuses in the class. For presentation, please use MS PowerPoint and consider the followings: Use the following convention for naming your PowerPoint file (1 point deduction)
o o
Group#_PartA_Date.pptx Group#_PartB_Date.pptx
Add your group number and the names of all members on the title page (1st page) Add an executive summary slide on the 2nd page Number all of your slides. Create professional slides. Use white background and avoid using background colors such as pink or purple. Imagine that you are presenting to a group of managers with intent to sell your product or service. Be consistent in using a unified format (e.g. bullet types, fonts, headings, etc.) Avoid cluttering your slides with content. Be precise and relay your message concisely. Use tables or graphs properly to convey your message. One point will be deducted for each missing elements such as not following the naming convention, improper print formatting, no number on slides, etc.
MS Excel or MS Access Individual Assignments Consider the followings for your Excel file: Use the following convention for naming your MS Excel or MS Access file
o o
Name_Lastname.xlsx Name_Lastname.aacdb
Use Calibri or Arial font size 10 ONLY (You can use italic or bold if necessary). If you need to shade some parts of your table, then use light yellow only. Your file should be formatted properly for printing. This is extremely important. Go to print preview:
o o o
Add your name to the footer (left side of the sheet), middle section tab name, right side of the sheet should have the page number (i.e, Page 1 of 3) Add the title of your assignment to the header (center of the sheet) If you use tables and graphs, then make sure the content and the tables are properly adjusted for each page. You may have several pages, but it is not acceptable if one part of your content or table prints on one page and the other part of your content or table prints on another page.
One point will be deducted for each missing elements such as not following the naming convention, improper print formatting, no number on slides, etc.

When you submit your assignment, only MS Excel or MS Access file is acceptable. DO NOT submit MS word, PDF, or any other file format. Copying another students work (computer files) or having another person do your work is scholastic dishonesty (see below) and will be dealt with accordingly.
How to calculate the final grade (WileyPlus + Excel + Access + Group presentation) + [(Average of all exams/quizzes) * 0.6] = 100%
Student Conduct & Discipline The University of Texas System and The University of Texas at Dallas have rules and regulations for the orderly and efficient conduct of their business. It is the responsibility of each student and each student organization to be knowledgeable about the rules and regulations which govern student conduct and activities. General information on student conduct and discipline is contained in the UTD publication, A to Z Guide, which is provided to all registered students each academic year. The University of Texas at Dallas administers student discipline within the procedures of recognized and established due process. Procedures are defined and described in the Rules and Regulations, Board of Regents, The University of Texas System, Part 1, Chapter VI, Section 3, and in Title V, Rules on Student Services and Activities of the Course Syllabus Page 8.

Universitys Handbook of Operating Procedures. Copies of these rules and regulations are available to students in the Office of the Dean of Students, where staff members are available to assist students in interpreting the rules and regulations (SU 1.602, 972/883- 6391). A student at the university neither loses the rights nor escapes the responsibilities of citizenship. He or she is expected to obey federal, state, and local laws as well as the Regents Rules, university regulations, and administrative rules. Students are subject to discipline for violating the standards of conduct whether such conduct takes place on or off campus, or whether civil or criminal penalties are also imposed for such conduct. Academic Integrity The faculty and administration of the School of Management expects from its students a high level of responsibility and academic honesty. Because the value of an academic degree depends upon the absolute integrity of the work done by the student for that degree, it is imperative that a student demonstrate a high standard of individual honor in his or her scholastic work. Scholastic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, statements, acts or omissions related to applications for enrollment or the award of a degree, and/or the submission as ones own work or material that is not ones own. As a general rule, scholastic dishonesty involves one of the following acts: cheating, plagiarism, collusion and/or falsifying academic records. Plagiarism, especially from the web, from portions of papers for other classes, and from any other source is unacceptable and will be dealt with under the universitys policy on plagiarism (see general catalog for details). This course will use the resources of turnitin.com, which searches the web for possible plagiarism and is over 90% effective. Students in this course suspected of academic dishonesty are subject to disciplinary proceedings, and if found guilty, the following sanctions: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Homework F for the Assignment Case Write-ups F for the Assignment Quizzes F for the Quiz Presentations F for the Assignment Tests F for the Course and Dropped from Course Roll
In the event that a failing grade has been assessed for academic dishonesty, the student will not be allowed to withdraw as a way of preventing the grade from being entered on their record. Where a student receives an F in a course and chooses to take the course over to improve their grade, the original F remains on their transcript, but does not count towards calculation of their GPA. The School of Management also reserves the right to review a students disciplinary record, on file with the Dean of Students, as one of the criteria for determining a students suitability for a scholarship.
(5) After meeting with the student, refer the allegation to the dean of students along with a referral form and all supporting documentation of the alleged violation. (6) Forward to the Dean of Students a copy of the class syllabus giving the appropriate sanction to be assessed if the student is found responsible for academic dishonesty; The faculty member cannot impose any independent sanctions upon the student in lieu of a referral to the dean of students, and may only make a recommendation of suspension or expulsion to the Dean of Students in the referral documentation. If the faculty member chooses not to meet with the student and instead forwards the appropriate documentation directly to the dean of students, they should attempt to inform the student of the allegation and notify the student that the information has been forwarded to the Office of dean of students for investigation. Upon receipt of the referral form, class syllabus, and the supporting material/documentation from the faculty member, the dean shall proceed under Subchapter C. If the student is found in violation of the code of conduct, the dean will then affirm the sanction as provided in the syllabus, and share this information with the student. The dean will review the students prior disciplinary record and assess additional sanctions where appropriate to the circumstances. The dean will inform the student and the faculty member of their decision.

Email Use
The University of Texas at Dallas recognizes the value and efficiency of communication between faculty/staff and students through electronic mail. At the same time, email raises some issues concerning security and the identity of each individual in an email exchange. The university encourages all official student email correspondence be sent only to a students U.T. Dallas email address and that faculty and staff consider email from students official only if it originates from a UTD student account. This allows the university to maintain a high degree of confidence in the identity of all individual corresponding and the security of the transmitted information. UTD furnishes each student with a free email account that is to be used in all communication with university personnel. The Department of Information Resources at U.T. Dallas provides a method for students to have their U.T. Dallas mail forwarded to other accounts.

Disability Services
The goal of Disability Services is to provide students with disabilities educational opportunities equal to those of their non-disabled peers. Disability Services is located in room 1.610 in the Student Union. Office hours are Monday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The contact information for the Office of Disability Services is: The University of Texas at Dallas, SU 22 PO Box 830688 Richardson, Texas 75083-0688 (972) 883-2098 (voice or TTY) Essentially, the law requires that colleges and universities make those reasonable adjustments necessary to eliminate discrimination on the basis of disability. For example, it may be necessary to remove classroom prohibitions against tape recorders or animals (in the case of dog guides) for students who are blind. Occasionally an assignment requirement may be substituted (for example, a research paper versus an oral presentation for a student who is hearing impaired). Classes enrolled students with mobility impairments may have to be rescheduled in accessible facilities. The college or university may need to provide special services such as registration, note-taking, or mobility assistance. It is the students responsibility to notify his or her professors of the need for such an accommodation. Disability Services provides students with letters to present to faculty members to verify that the student has a disability and needs accommodations. Individuals requiring special accommodation should contact the professor after class or during office hours.
