Blocks the effects of serotonin at 5-HT3- receptor sites
(selective antagonist) located in vagal nerve terminals
and the chemoreceptor trigger zone in the CNS
For IV meds, compatability with IV drips and/or solutions
Compatability: cefazolin; droperidol; metoclopramide; promethazine
Incompatability: None

hypersensitivity; liver impairment; abdominal surgery; pregnancy;
lactation
Common side effects
headache; dizziness; drowsiness; fatigue; weakness; constipation; diarrhea;
abdominal pain; dry mouth; increased liver enzymes
extrapyramidal reactions

Interactions with other patient drugs, OTC, or herbal Lab value alterations caused by medicine
medicines (ask patient specifically) may increase serum bilrubin, AST, and ALT levels
