Designed and built to exacting standards the McConnel DOW range of Root Trailers are among the highest quality trailers on the market today. Available as 12, 14 and 16 tonne configurations, they are perfect for the British farmer or agricultural contractor who requires a high quality product. Fitted with Flat Cam Axles as standard featuring hydraulic brakes, with the option of S Cam Commercial Axles, these trailers can meet the latest legislation by using air brakes and ABS for road speeds in excess of 20mph. A heavy duty commercial trailer parking brake makes the trailer safe when not in use. Super Single tyres are fitted as standard for general purpose use (combination of road and field work) Flotation tyres are available for boggy off road use ideal for soil management. The optional easily adjustable sliding mud guard has been designed to cover wheel and tyre preventing tyre damage and flying mud when in transport on the public highway. The chassis is made from 250 x 150 x 8mm Structural RHS Steel for maximum strength and durability.. Fitted as standard with an adjustable 15 tonne sprung drawbar to allow trailer pitch correction depending on varying tractor drawbar heights (16-24) and wheel/tyre specification. Trailer bodies are manufactured with lower sides to prevent damage to crops and a 4mm thick floor mounted on bearers at 300mm centres for maximum load spread. Fitted with attachments to easily accommodate an Easy Sheet or silage sides at a later date if required. Supplied via a zinc plated hydraulic line the trailer tailgate is operated via two hydraulic rams controlled by check valves and a spring loaded safety valve to prevent accidental opening of the tailgate door when in transport. Finished in the striking McConnel colours as standard, or a custom livery if preferred this is a trailer that will provide years of service.
