Part One: YOUR Epistemological World Views Summarize here your ndings (even if tentative!) about your theories of knowledge. Domains Natural Science Social Science Art Morality Religion Item #s 1, 5, 14 4, 8, 12 3, 7, 10 6, 9, 11 2, 13, 15 YOUR world view Evaluativist Relativist Relativist Relativist Relativist Brief Reason + Remarks
There may be many approaches to a problem, but one is bound to be more correct than the other There can be many causes to the behavior of a person and it is usually affected by his/her upbringing Art touches on emotion and since different people feel different things, aspects in art are not quantiable Morality is dependent on the norms set by society. These norms are agreed upon, but are still based on personal opinions Different people have different beliefs and religion is based on these beliefs. No belief overpowers another

Part Two: Ways of Knowing How important are the different Ways of Knowing in the different domains? Rate them from 1 to 10 according to importance, with 10 as VERY IMPORTANT. If there are other ways of knowing/judging, use the last column and specify. Domains Natural Science Social Science Art Morality Religion Sense Perception 10 8 10 5 3 Reason 10 9 3 8 3 Language 6 5 7 6 5 Emotion 2 9 10 8 10 Faith? Others?

Part Three: AUTHORITY and/or EVIDENCE When you justify claims, how much do you actually rely on External Authority and Direct Evidence for every domain? Assign a percentage to each one per domain (Just make an estimate, so NO decimal points--e.g., 25.2321%!). Make sure both total 100%. Domains Natural Science % AUTHORITY 20% % EVIDENCE 80% 100% Brief Reason + Remarks
I usually consider the evidences in science rst before believing, but in some cases, when I feel that the claim is logical, I just believe in the authoritative gure Usually, I only believe authoritative gures if they are in line with what I have experienced in my life. Other than that, I look at the evidences and observations I view art based on my own preference, without listening to critiques who say that this particular piece of music is trash For me, morality is based on the society we live in and authoritative gures dictates these values and beliefs imposed on us Religion touches on the faith of a person. There are no conclusive evidences, only authoritative gures that tell us about the supreme being or god

Some learnings, comments, connections...

Looking at what I wrote above, I can see that there are some cases that I rely more on evidences, and sometimes, I rely more on authority. This may be because since different areas of knowledge have different approaches, there would be some that would require more experiments than just generalizing based on standards and surveys. What I learned is that having an objective way of looking at things help2s us view ideas in different perspectives, and not just say that every idea is acceptable and is correct. Although objectivity is important in viewing matters, emotion should not be disregarded because this way of knowing also plays an important role in gaining knowledge in some of the areas of knowledge. Ultimately, an evaluativist way of thinking gives importance to the difference in ideas and perspectives of people. Having this mindset leads to the rise of new, better and improved ideas.
