Plan proposal for Annual Event‐2008 [2008] 

Dear friends,
I Deepan Sahu sharing my little experience about annual events what I
gained during B-plan participation conducted by few reputed institutions
like IITs, NITs and Anna University.
To prepare this event plan and time line I consider all formats and plans
adopted by above institutions.

Detailed information about the events

The whole amalgamation of events is divided into four main sessions –


1. The Agribusiness session
2. The Development session
3. Entrepreneurship session, and
4. In formals

This event will see students taxing their minds to come up with creative
and original solutions to the problems of the sector with following events –

1. The Agribusiness session

a. Commodity Trade:
This event lets participants trade in spots and futures of selected
commodities for real money. In the first round participants play a simple
web-based simulation game where trade in spot and futures of selected
commodities. The exchange is a simulated exchange with the prices as
determined by the market participants.

Support: Prof. Sundersan sir will guide how to do all the things.

b. The Business Plan Contest


Contest will pit the brightest minds against each other to conceive the
best idea for a potential opportunity in the rural development and
agribusiness sector (social entrepreneurship etc.).

Space opens to only B-school and engineering contestants.


Support: we have to arrange for venture capitalist or bankers to provide a
platform for making the top contestants dream to reality, besides that the
certificate of merit and monetary award can taken in to consideration. I
can extend my experience and support up to maximum extent.
Prof. L.K.Vaswani sir, Prof. Achryulu sir and Prof. Sundersan sir will guide
to make all the things in right way.

c. The Case Contest


Participants will put their knowledge and creativity to the test in analyzing
a case dealing with a relevant issue in addressed sector.

Support: the guidance and help from Prof. Acharyulu sir.

2. The Development Session

This session is dedicated to rural face of our beloved country. This will
raise the issues affecting the rural India like education, unemployment,
women empowerment, infrastructure, institutions of rural India, policies
and other grass-root problems. The who’s who of industry, NGOs,
policymakers, Academia and students from all over India will discuss
these issues and their possible solutions. The effectiveness of policies
meant for development of the Country will be scrutinized by the
experienced as well as novel innovative minds of the country.

a. The strategic research contest


The main motto of this contest is to come up with new innovative strategy
for a recent failure program implemented by central or state government.
The topic will decide by KSRM and based on that entry of participants will
consider.

b. The Movie Review Contest


Use the medium of cinema to provoke thought about and encourage
analysis of some of today’s burning issues and to showcase some of
today’s pressing issues.

Finalists in this event will be shown a few movie clips about relevant
issues and asked to give on-the spot-reviews. Films would be chosen from
across genres and times, focusing on social issues and the endeavour
would be to tackle the core issue of under-development in rural areas and
how to become a catalyst in achieving rural growth.

development organizations).
Support: the support and guide lines from Prof. R.N. Subudhi sir and Prof.
Venketkrishanan sir could be taken.

c. Picture to paper contest


In this contest all the visitors will get an opportunity to express their
perception and comment by seeing the picture and best comment given
candidates will get awarded .This contest will run for all the three days
and every day five contestant will get awarded.

be taken.

3. Entrepreneurship Session

The session would try and help the public in general and business school
students in particular to overcome the barriers like fear of failure and
incomplete knowledge about how to start a new business.

a. The panel discussion


Successful entrepreneurs will share with participants the choices they
made, the sources of their inspiration, the odds they faced, the
opportunities that they had and the sense of fulfillment they derived from
their vocation. A special entry form will prepare and the registered
candidates only allow for participate, besides that the participants for B-
plan can resister in free of cost and can participate. All participants would
receive a certificate of participation and tools like CD on entrepreneurship
etc.
Support: The tools like CD and require format I can provide, what I
collected from different institutions. And guide from Prof. Sundersan sirs
can add value.
As per my knowledge I can provide detail contacts or if possible I will try
to contact and invite best young and successful entrepreneurs on behalf of
college.

b. The Entrepreneurship Challenge


It’s a management game, in which teams are exposed to a situation with
some resources and then teams will be asked to come up with a plan of
start up business, with the applied/stated resource constraints. Teams will
be grilled on their idea by the experts about the viability part of the idea.
Space opens to B-school contestants.
A best successful entrepreneur will invite as a judge.

c. Workshop on Agro-Based Venture Set-up

The workshop will provide vital information about basic financial,


operational and logistic requirements for an Agribusiness startup,
strategies for entry into the international market for agricultural
commodities, various related initiatives and schemes of the Indian
government, and Trading of agricultural commodities and derivatives on
the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX). Workshop
will be followed by a Question-and-Answer session.

R.N.Subudhi sir, and Prof. J. Achrya madam could be taken.

4. In formals

There are evenings of puzzles and quizzes on a variety of subjects and


songs, lyrics, mimicry and dance. One evening with lesser show, another
evening with dance and music contest and the third day night band show.

Approach plan

1. Create an event website (with automatic registration facility), time


line preparation, advertisement for events, sponsors arrangement
and contact with guests and judges will consider.
2. Team formation: various team will formed to perform all the
activities in synchronize and efficient way. Teams for each event
and teams for food and lodging of participants and guest,
registration of participants, evening show events will form.
3. Inspection team for to inspect all the correctness and standards
before event starts.
4. Execution of all the work under three representatives.
