– the rider courses & DMV must have been very busy
these past few months. For those of us who have been
riding for awhile, we should be especially watchful of
those who are just getting their “road legs” & hittin’ the
SOUNDCHECK Bo Albert Cindy Mease streets with the rest of us. We all can sort of get a clue
by riding behind someone, if they are new to the road so
it doesn’t hurt to ride along with them a little bit if you’re
going the same direction. By doing this, believe it or not,
it does give them a sense of comfort & a feeling of being
welcomed into our riding community. It doesn’t matter
whether you ride a Sport Bike, Harley, Trike or Custom
“whatever”, we are all part of a special community of
adventurers who share an “out of the box” love for the
BZgal, Tigger & Apehanger Laurie Schober road & should be looking out for each other all the time.
If you’ve just recently gotten your license & are new to

The stereotyping that some people have that ALL bikers
are “bad-ass” trouble makers has dwindled down quite a
bit over these past couple of years. Even though there’ll
always be some of those bad-asses around somewhere,

summer is right around the corner - can’t believe it starts
next month! We’d like to remind you to be sure & check
your tires, oil, gas, tighten nuts & bolts etc…on your
bikes before you hit the road. Most “roadside warriors”
(bikes broken down on the side of the road) are usually
due to negligence of one or more from that check list. It

edge. Just think if every county were able to accomplish this. One must
remember that the select volunteers all do their very best as all are involved
in all other activities that life brings us.
All Thunder Roads states are participating with this event, as with other
MRO’s. The following is from the (MSF) with further information on this event.
The mission of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) is to make the
nation’s streets and highways safer for motorcyclists through rider training
and operator licensing programs, and public information campaigns. Be-
cause of this mission, it often partners with other groups with shared interests Kawasaki, Piaggio/Vespa, Victory and Yamaha motorcycles.

the National Traffic Safety Admin-

Drivers, not motorcyclists, cause more than two-thirds of car-motorcycle
crashes. The driver either does not see the motorcyclist at all or does not see
the motorcyclists in time to avoid a crash. Working together, we can try to
reduce those figures and make motorists more aware of motorcycles on the
road.
The MSF has training and education materials that would work well with
your event planning for Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. The collection
includes the public information program “Cars, Motorcyclist and A Common
Road” with a video and Leader’s Guide; 30-second television public service
announcements, posters tied into the TV spots, plus an expanded version
of the Take It Easy Campaign featuring small ads, large posters, transit
signage and banners. Several pieces have blank space for you to insert your
company or program’s logo and contact information.
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) is a national, not-for-profit orga-
nization promoting the safety of motorcyclists with programs in rider training,

 In Memory of a Friend, Bob Key
Here in beautiful South Carolina we have some of the best riding weather about nine months out of the year. For those
true riders, we ride year round. We met Bob Key about six weeks ago, in a town just outside of Charleston SC. He asked
if he could ride with us and he has been showing up every week since.
On Saturday, April 5, 2008, he met us at our regular Bar for a benefit ride. He had the biggest smile all day. He laughed
and talked about how he had helped put flyers out for this benefit and it was a great turn out. He was with us all day and
even met a girl and got her number! At about 11 PM he told all of us he was going to ride to another place and see if that
girl had gone over there and he would see us the next day for our Sunday ride. Just a short while later, he was dead. He
had on his helmet and all proper gear. He was riding and hit an unmarked cement median. He was thrown from the bike
and broke his neck. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
For all our fellow riders please be safe and watch out for raised cement
medians! We have lost two local bikers in the last few weeks to the same
thing at night. Bob will be missed here and for all of the friends he had in
your area we are sure you

Overall satisfaction with the motorcycle ownership experi-
ence has increased in the past five years, according to
the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Motorcycle Competi-
tive Information Study released today.The study finds that
improvements made in product satisfaction and dealership
service have helped drive the increase in overall ownership
satisfaction across the industry. Service, build quality and
product/performance primarily drive the overall motorcycle
ownership experience. Overall satisfaction with the cost of
ownership has increased among motorcycle owners for a
second consecutive year, with owners being most satisfied
with the initial price and resale value of their bike. Satisfac-
tion with maintenance/repair costs, cost of accessories
and insurance has also increased. Motorcycle owners are
strong advocates of their brand and dealer, as 68 percent
“definitely will” recommend their brand and 56 percent will
recommend the dealer from which they purchased their mo-
torcycle. “Loyalty and advocacy levels are particularly high
among motorcycle owners when compared with owners in
the automotive and boating industries,” said research man-
ager Tim Fox. “For example, only 47 percent of boat and
35 percent of auto owners say they are loyal to their brand.
The motorcycle industry is much more of a niche market
where consumers have a particularly strong allegiance to a
brand compared with automotive and marine industries.”
Now in its 10th year, the study measures owner satisfac-
tion with new motorcycles by examining five major compo-
nents of the overall ownership experience: product; quality;
cost of ownership; sales; and service. The 2007 Motorcycle
Competitive Information Study includes responses from
8,796 owners who purchased new on-road motorcycles
between September 2006 and May 2007.
TOP US MARKETS FOR MOTORCYCLE OWNERSHIP
A new study from The Media Audit reveals that Spokane
, Washington is the top market in the U.S. for motorcycle
ownership. Among adults who live in Spokane , 18.5% own
a motorcycle, compared to 9% for all U.S. adults. Other
markets with a high percentage of motorcycle ownership
include Riverside-San Bernardino, California (18.4%), fol-
lowed by Reno , Nevada (15.2%), Boise , Idaho (14.8%)
and Salt Lake City , Utah (14%). According to the Motor-
cycle Industry Council (MIC), new motorcycle retail sales
equaled an estimated $10.7 billion in 2006, the highest
level in 25 years. The MIC attributes the recent growth to
the rise in popularity of motor scooters and increase in fe-
male riders. Today, there are more than 450 models on the
market, from cruisers to sport bikes to smaller fuel efficient
commuter bikes. According to The Media Audit, a major-
ity of motorcycle owners are married (59.2 percent) with
an average age of 41 years. Adults who own a motorcycle
earn $77,714 in annual household income, a figure that is
$12,424 higher than the household income for the average
U.S. adult. Rounding out the top ten markets for motor-

cycle ownership are Eugene-Springfield , Oregon (13.8%
adult motorcycle ownership), Colorado Springs , Colorado
(13.1%), Milwaukee-Racine , Wisconsin - home of Harley
Davidson Motor Company (12.9%), Portland , Oregon
(12.4%), and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota (12.3%).
MOTORCYCLE SALES SURGE IN EUROPE
The European PTW (Powered Two-Wheelers) motorcycle
market is still flourishing. After breaking the 2 million units
threshold in 2005, it touched the 2.5 million units landmark
at the end of 2007. Last year the PTW market grew by a
remarkable 10.1%. According to figures transmitted by the
ACEM statistical correspondents the trend of the 50cc seg-
ment (mopeds and scooters) is now positively oriented after
10 consecutive years of decline, and the volume approach-
es one million units. For 2007 the registrations of motor-
cycles over 50cc recorded the 5th consecutive positive year
with +3% and 1.5 million units. Since 2002, when the PTW
registrations reached their lowest point (1.873.822 units),
the market has recovered steadily and in 2007 it reached
2.5 million vehicles, with a +32% increase. The current fleet
of PTWs in Europe amounts to approximately 30.000.000
vehicles. Over the last few years, EU market trends clearly
show that motorcycles answer the mobility needs of an
increasingly higher share of the European population.
UNFAMILIAR BIKES INVITE PROBLEMS
Experienced riders drastically increase their chances of
crashing simply by riding a different motorcycle, an insur-
ance study has found. Even experienced riders can be
pretty wobbly when they hop on an unfamiliar bike, accord-
ing to data from the country’s largest motorcycle insurer,
Progressive, which conducted a study of almost 2 million
motorcycle policies over a five-year period and found that
riders who switch bikes are nearly 70 percent more likely to
crash than riders who keep the same bike. “Most people al-
ready know that riding can be especially dangerous for new
bikers,” said Rick Stern, a Progressive motorcycle product
manager who is also a rider. “But our data shows that the
less familiar you are with your bike, the more likely you are
to be involved in a collision, regardless of your experience.”
The study also found cruiser riders who switch to sport
bikes are three-and-a-half times more likely to crash. That’s
more than double the risk they’d have than if they just
switched to another cruiser. Sport bikers, on the other hand,
can reduce their risk by more than a third just by switching
to a cruiser, according to Progressive’s research. “We want
experienced riders to know their risks so they can take extra
precautions when they replace their bikes,” said Stern. “It’s
a good idea for riders to take their new bike out for a couple
of shake down cruises in a parking lot before hitting the
open road.”Even people who have been riding for years can
benefit from practicing the basics on their new bike, Stern
said, including low-speed riding, turning, shifting and swerv-
ing, and higher-speed panic stopping.

PUSH HELMET LAWS, LOSE YOUR JOB!
The former executive director of the Louisiana Safety Com-
mission, who has pushed helmet laws throughout three
gubernatorial administrations, said he was fired because he
disagrees with now-Governor Bobby Jindal’s efforts to re-
repeal their state’s helmet mandate for adult riders.
Louisiana State Police Colonel James Champagne, who
has held his post for 12 years throughout their on-again-
off-again helmet law, was abruptly terminated March 25th,
saying his dismissal followed a meeting with the governor’s
chief of staff because “I refused to compromise my views
on the helmet issue.” Champagne testified in commit-
tee against Jindal’s former boss and mentor ex-Governor
Mike “Big Daddy” Foster’s successful push to abolish the
state’s helmet law back in 1999, and then testified in favor
of outgoing Governor Kathleen Blanco’s successful drive to
restore the helmet law in 2004. Foster once hinted publicly
that Champagne ‘s position on motorcycle helmets could
cost him his job. Enter newly-elected Gov. Jindal, who
favors repeal of the mandatory helmet law as a freedom of
choice issue, and looks to fulfill one of his few specific cam-
paign promises. At least two bills are pending in the Legisla-
ture that would repeal the helmet requirements for adults.

ties, but despite the helmet requirement that figure rose
to 95 in 2006, when Louisiana ranked No. 3 in the highest
number of motorcycle death rates per 10,000 registered
motorcycles with a death rate of 15.5 per 10,000 registered
motorcycles; more than double the national rate (nationally,
in 2006, 7.3 motorcyclists were killed for every 10,000 reg-
istered motorcycles on the road). Neighboring Mississippi,
which also has a helmet law, ranked No. 1 in the NHTSA
data with 20 riders killed per 100,000 bikes. The report
also noted that nationwide in 2006 just 1 in 2 riders wore a
helmet, but 42% of motorcyclists killed in crashes between
2002 and 2006 were not wearing helmets. “The legislative
session is in full swing and now is the time for the members
of the motorcycling community to start voicing their opinions
and let the politicians of this State know that we are voting,
tax paying, constituents of theirs,” said Poet, State Execu-
tive President of ABATE of Louisiana. “Remember: One
voice is but a whisper, but a thousand voices are a ROAR!”
UNEMPLOYMENT LINE, PART II
New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg is the biggest
helmet-pusher in Congress, but he may be facing stiff
competition for his job in the upcoming election. ABATE of
the Golden State is backing U.S. Representative Robert
Andrews in his bid to replace the 84-year-old four-term
nannycrat. As a 9-term veteran of the U.S. House, Andrews
has worked with motorcyclists and sponsored the HIPPA
bill to protect motorcyclists’ health care coverage and has
also pledged to vote against any helmet legislation. ABATE
is asking concerned riders to help spread the word to flood
the voting booths with motorcyclists for the Primary election,
and due to historically light voter turnout bikers could easily
swing the election. The National Coalition of Motorcyclists
would also like to take this opportunity to welcome ABATE
of the Garden State as one of our newest NCOM Member

WEIRD NEWS: ANGRY BIKES CAN SAVE LIVES
Honda Motor Company scientists studying the way the
brain reacts to different imagery found that motorcycles that
resemble a human face - especially an angry one evoked
with diagonal headlights and abbreviated nose - are “signifi-
cantly” more visible to other drivers. Measurements taken
with functional magnetic resonance imaging confirm that a
more lifelike front-end design “elicits a response similar to
that when a human face is seen,” suggesting that other driv-
ers will more quickly recognize the motorcycle’s presence
and react accordingly. “People in four-wheeled vehicles will
see not just motorcycles coming at them but motorcycles
with human characteristics and faces,” says Charles Kenny,
president of Right Brain People, a consumer psychology
firm specializing in motor vehicles. “It connects to some-
thing very basic in the psyche that goes back to when they
were little children.” By way of example, Kenny points to
the Disney movie Cars, and to kids’ toys such as Thomas
& Friends trains, both of which cause youngsters to emo-
tionally identify with inanimate objects. “The human brain,”
Honda’s 2005 study explains, “exhibits a strong response
to facial patterns, especially to the eyes and mouth.” The
observation led to the extrapolation that human-looking
bikes are more quickly recognized by motorists, making
them more easily avoided. Major manufacturers such as
Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, Buell, Triumph and
Ducati all feature 2008 sportbikes fitted with menacing cat’s
eye headlights, and according to Money.CNN.com the new
Honda DN-01 deliberately incorporates a human look into
its front view. “The sportbike community really wants an
aggressive, hard-edged design,” says John Paolo Canton,
spokesman for Ducati North America. “Nobody wants to buy
a 300-km/h motorcycle that looks cute.” With motorcycle
use worldwide near an all-time high, “conspicuity enhance-
ment” as researchers call it, can help promote awareness
and avoidance of motorcycles sharing the road.

The Brawl-R
I, like many bikers, have always wanted my own bike, built
just for me. Last year I decided to finally take the step and
build my dream bike. Say hello to “The Brawler” built by the
crew at Rocker Originals in Yorktown, VA, whose shop is
known for sticking to the old school style. I knew I wanted a
bike that was short, stocky, loud, and full of attitude…basi-
cally a motorcycle version of myself! I also wanted a bike that
not only had great looks and style, but could be ridden as an
everyday rider, containing speed and performance.
With a Kraftech Rigid Stock frame, the rake was left at 30
degrees and no stretch to keep that short wheelbase and
beefy look. I think the front end of a bike speaks volumes so
I wanted a lot of rubber on the ground and NO fender. The
front tire is a monster 150 Avon Venom mounted on a custom
DNA black powder coated rim with stainless spokes, held
by 41mm DNA chrome forks. There are no fender mounts
showing or sticking out which provides are very unique
clean look. Pushing the front end around is a Rev Tech
110” V-Twin, my favorite choice because of its astounding
performance and solid warranty, not offered by many other
manufacturers. To match the large motor, a 6 speed Rev
Tech Tranny was mounted along with a wide-open 3” BDL
primary drive. I was hesitant about having it open because
of all the stories I heard about ripped pants, however since I
chose mid-controls, the position actually keeps your feet out
of harm’s way allowing me to keep that old school look. The
final drive is a thick chain drive so none of that power is lost.
The controls, one of my favorite parts of the bike, puts the
rider’s legs in a comfortable 90-degree position, remnant to a
flat track racer’s bike. Also, with the generous ground clear-
ance that was given, I’ll be able to shift my weight easily for
performance cornering. The rear fender, wrapped tight to the
160 Avon Venom tire, which is only slightly larger than the
front, gives it that “wider” look.
The in-house fabrication of the exhaust was done in black
and then wrapped natural to keep the attention on the en-
gine. The frame was powder coated fire engine red to make
it stand out. Giving the bike some real attitude towards it’s
name, “The Brawler”, part of the strut holding the rear fender
up, sports a set of real brass knuckles. On the left side of the
tank, a functioning sight glass was placed, showing the rider
in a very crude way, the fuel level. Most of the wires are hid-
den with the exception of a few stainless cables, and the bike
is void of gauges, speedo, or any controls on the bars. All of
the buttons are hidden within the ignition module on the side
of the bike. Since this baby is a rigid, and I mean RIGID, I
had a nice seat made by Harley Seats.com, set up with a set
of chrome springs for minimal bounce. Igor’s Customs gave
the final finish with hand pin striping and a very “New Jersey”
style caricature on the tank of a guy, strangely resembling my
dad, holding an Italian flag with “The Brawl-R” painted on the
side of the tank.
Acceleration bred from a sport bike, great performance, old
school styling, and more attitude than most people driving
around me care to deal with, the bike turned out to be exactly
what I wanted. See you on the road; just don’t try to race me.

Riding a motorcycle can and does have some risks
but the two wheels of freedom make it all worth it. The
Motorcycle Safety Foundation offers Rider Courses and
training for the Basic to the Experienced rider. I took the 2
day course at Richmond Harley Davidson and met some
of the greatest guys there. The course goes through safety
awareness to development skills, or just breaking old
habits! It was well worth the 6 hours of rain that came down
over my full face helmet. After completion of this course,
you can get a 10% discount on your insurance, as well.
The Commonwealth of Virginia is sending out letters to
motorcycle riders. This letter simply states that it is illegal
to operate a bike without having a driver’s license that is

operates a motorcycle without one can face up to a $2,500
fine and one year in jail.

25th Annual New Rock
Chili Cook Off
Richmond Va., April 19th, 2008

There was fire and magic at the New Rock Chilli Cook
Off that was held at the Richmond Raceway Complex. With
so many vendors and great chili it was a great time had by
all. It was sponsored by Lucky 13 Tattoo, 102.1 the X,and
the Canal Club to benefit the Make a Wish Foundation.
I know the judges must of had a hard decision to make
picking the winning chili along with some serious heartburn.
The winning chili was made by ROAD KILL. The chili
was hot but for the brave and bold the heat was on. You
could eat habanero or jalapeno peppers and they did as I
watched tears run down there faces and chase it with cold
beer!
This placed was packed as we all rocked to many bands
like The Sick Puppies and Puddle of Mudd! I look forward to
attending the 26th Annual Chili Cook Off next year.

Little Ricky was staying at his Grandma’s for a few
days. He’d been playing outside with his best buddy Jim-
my, and some other kids from the block, when he came
into the house and asked, “Grandma, what’s that called
when two people sleep in the same room and one is on
top of the other? She was a little shocked, but decided
to just tell him the truth. “It’s called sexual intercourse,
sweetie.” Little Ricky just said, “Oh, o.k.,” and went back
outside to play with Jimmy and the other kids. A few min-
utes later he came back in and said angrily, “Grandma, it
is not called sexual intercourse. It’s called Bunk Beds, and
Jimmy’s Mom wants to talk to you right away.”
A biker walks into a bar and takes a seat next to a very
attractive woman. He gives her a quick glance, then
causally looks at his watch for a moment. The woman
notices this and asks, ‘Is your date running late?” “No,”
he replies. “I just got this state-of-the-art watch, and I was
testing it.” The intrigued woman says, “A state-of-the-art
watch? What’s so special about it?” The biker explains, “It
uses alpha waves to talk to me telepathically.” The lady
says, “What’s it telling you now?” “It says you’re not wear-
ing any panties.” The woman giggles and replies ‘Well,
it must be broken because I am indeed wearing panties!”
The biker taps his watch a couple times, looks at it again,
and then grins and says, “The damn thing’s an hour fast.”
Two business men in New Jersey are sitting down for
a break in their soon-to-open new store. As yet, the store
isn’t ready -- only a few shelves are set-up. One says
to the other, ‘I bet any minute now some jerk-off tourist
is going to walk by, put his face to the window and ask
what we’re selling.’ No sooner are the words out of his
mouth when, sure enough, a curious hillbilly from Tennes-
see walks up to the window, has a peek, and in a slow
Southern drawl asks, ‘What’re ya’all sellin’ here?’ One of
the Jersey guys replies, ‘Oh! we’re selling assholes here’.
Without skipping a beat, the hillbilly says, ‘Well, I see ya’all
are doin’ real good. You only got two left.’
A married couple in their early 60s was celebrating their
35th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restau-
rant. Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their
table saying, ‘For being such an exemplary married couple
and for being loving to each other for all this time, I will
grant you each a wish.’ Oh, I want to travel around the
world with my darling husband. The fairy waved her magic
wand and - poof! two tickets for the Queen Mary II ap-
peared in her hands. The husband’ thought for a moment:
‘Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this
will never come again. I’m sorry my love, but my wish is
to have a wife 30 years younger than me.’ The wife, and
the fairy, were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish.
So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof! the husband
became 92 years old.

New Government Seal: Official Announcement:
The federal government today announced that it is
changing its emblem from an Eagle to a CONDOM be-
cause it more accurately reflects the government’s
political stance.. A condom allows for inflation, halts pro-
duction, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch
of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you’re
actually being screwed! Damn, it just doesn’t get more
accurate than that.
While walking through Golden Gate Park in San
Francisco , a man came upon another man hugging a
tree with his ear firmly against the tree. Seeing this he
inquired, “Just out of curiosity, what the heck are you
doing?” “I’m listening to the music of the tree,” the other
man replied. “You’ve gotta be kiddin’ me.” “No, would
you like to give it a try?” Understandably curious, the
man says, “Well, OK...” So he wrapped his arms around
the tree and pressed his ear up against it. With this, the
other guy slapped a pair of handcuffs on him, took his
wallet, jewelry, car keys, then stripped him naked and
left. Two hours later another nature lover strolled by,
saw this guy handcuffed to the tree stark naked, and
asked, “What the heck happened to you?” He told the
guy the whole terrible story about how he got there.
When he finished telling his story, the other guy shook
his head in sympathy, walked around behind him,
kissed him gently behind the ear and said, “This just
ain’t gonna be your day, cupcake...” .
Each Friday night after work, Bubba would fire up
his outdoor grill and cook a venison steak. But, all of
Bubba’s neighbors were Catholic.... And since it was
Lent, they were forbidden from eating meat on Friday.
The delicious aroma from the grilled venison steaks
was causing such a problem for the Catholic faithful
that they finally talked to their priest. The Priest came to
visit Bubba, and suggested that he become a Catholic.
After several classes and much study, Bubba attended
Mass....and as the priest sprinkled holy water over him,
he said, “You were born a Baptist, and raised a Baptist,
but now you are a Catholic.” Bubba’s neighbors were
greatly relieved, until Friday night arrived, and the won-
derful aroma of grilled venison filled the neighborhood.
The Priest was called immediately by the neighbors,
and, as he rushed into Bubba’s yard, clutching a rosary
and prepared to scold him, he stopped and watched in
amazement. There stood Bubba, clutching a small
bottle of holy water which he carefully sprinkled over
the grilling meat and chanted: “You wuz born a deer,
you wuz raised a deer, but now you is a catfish.”
If you’re over 50 and not really happy with the way you

long and winding roads in your life - and most of the

SLACKDOG
I am thrilled to introduce the band of the month, “SLACK-
DOG”, from Virginia Beach, VA. I had the privilege to
hear them play at the Bayside Inn last month, to a packed
house of dedicated followers. Due to cramped quarters,
they were scaled down to their basic equipment, but that
didn’t seem to hinder this band in the least. My personal fa-
vorite from the evening was their rendition of “Locomotive
Breath” from Jethro Tull... “powerful and precise” describes
it best! Even more surprising were their original tunes - a
combination of unusually good material, and high caliber
musicianship, culminating with a dynamic wall of melodi-
ous sound. Captivating and evocative, Slackdog’s music is
easy to embrace!
Band members consist of founder and lead singer “Tom
LeGrone” who also plays rhythm guitar and once opened
for Delbert McClinton, and Joe Ely with his former band,
to deliver “a blend of Rock, Jazz Fusion, Classic Metal, Alter-

8th Annual Ladies of Harley fund raising Chili Cookoff at
Shenandoah Harley-Davidson
Staunton, VA Saturday March 29, 2008
The weather being a bit nippy made for a good day to
hold a warm bowl and munch down on some nice hot chili.
This year’s event gave folks the opportunity to sample
some 35 different mixes of 76 gallons of Harley style chili’s
and 21 entries of bread. With help from 25 local businesses
and 400 chili samplers, LOH raised $1500 towards the
Club’s Children’s Christmas shopping excursion. The
Shenandoah LOH & HOG Chapters each year take out 30
in need children for some Christmas fun shopping and a
lunch with the Harley Santa.
This year’s winning chilis were judged by Ken Slack of
TV29, Gary Ratcliff, President of radio station Star 94.3
Staunton Va., and Thunderroads Garth. Winning chilies
were:

 Bubba’s Hog Pen Bike Fest Party

Bikers from all over were invited to attend this party. The
weather was hot and bikes rolled in continuously from Rigid
Ol Skool to Custom Hogs at Bubba’s Hog Pen Bike Fest
Party put on by the Pagans MC. Many chapters attended
this event and lots of different colors were there. It was
a great site to see everyone enjoy themselves with NO
problems of any kind.
The food was great with southern style chicken, BBQ &
many sides. We enjoyed the ice cold beverages outside
while listening to The Confederate Outlaws play! Awards
were given to the following people for there awesome bikes.
Best in show &1st place was given to Rebar. Also we had
in 1st place Tigger, Dave, Dickie,and Easy. The 2nd place
winners were James, Sonny, Shovelhead,& Little Rick.

The Virginia Tech Memorial Motorcycle
This project was headed up by Milwaukee Iron 2 of Myrtle Beach.
Yes, we are under trademark lease agreement with Milwaukee Iron of
Lynchburg, known for its sheet metal and fenders and the television
show Southern Steel.
After the Massacre at VA Tech, Milwaukee Iron 2 called its parent
company and discussed the option of building a Memorial motorcycle
for a charity to the school. Both agreed it would be a great gesture.
Homer, from Milwaukee Iron 2, then began a quest to find the best
of the best of parts to get donated to the project. Parts were donated
from Roland Sands, Baker Drive train, Mean Street Front Ends, Tech
Cycle Primary, Headwinds, Ekcraft, Dirty South Choppers, Milwaukee
Iron Inc., Johnny Longo Seats, Joker Machine, Custom Climax
Controls and more. Over $40k in parts was donated and Homer
designed the frame with the custom paint by Razor Graphics. Paul
Cox came in house to donate his time to help with the project and the
final outcome is spectacular.
The motorcycle goes on Barrett Jackson’s stage in Las Vegas in Oct
08 with all the proceeds going to the individual scholarship funds of the
students lost in the tragedy.
It’s been said that the bike may sell for 150K or more in the auction.
