Database Administration Associate (Oracle)


Completion of this certificate, issued through the Business and Computing Division, will enable students to acquire the skills needed for a career in Oracle database administration. In addition, this certificate provides preparation for students seeking Oracles certification in Database Administration. To receive the certificate, students must complete at least 15 units of coursework with a grade of C or better. All courses must be completed at Orange Coast College.

Database Administrators are employed in almost every major corporation and organization, including government, manufacturing, insurance, financial institutions, and education. In addition their skills are needed by Internet-based organizations such as service providers, Website hosting, search portals (such as Google) and related service firms. Employment is expected to grow 37 percent from 2006 to 2016, much faster than the average for all occupations. According to the California Labor Market Information, the average annual salary for Database Administrators in Orange County is $72,370.
