A Master in Economics with over 21 years of working experience, Shamik has been a nominee member at world trade bodies like GAFTA and FOSFA , Indian trade bodies like IOPEA and Bombay Oils & Oilseeds Exchange, a founding committee member of COFEI (Coffee Futures Exchange of India- Bangalore) and a speaker panelist in conferences organized by FMC, ASSOCHAM and Indian Chamber of Commerce on development of the Commodity Futures market and Warehouse Receipt Finance in India. He has also been Adviser of MCX and a Product Committee member of NCDEX and is a regular speaker on CNBC and ZEE biz news on commodity markets. After leaving Adani's He worked as an independent consultant till 2007 whereby i advised companies on their risk and research and business development needs in commodities, treasury and regulatory areas.
