24 August 2011. The government of Cyprus is on the verge of deporting Iranian activist Hadi Jahednorouzi (ARC: 5395940).

He has been documentably active against the Islamic Republic of Iran for the past decade, which, according to the penal code of the Islamic Republic, is a crime punishable by death (propagating against the regime, Moharebeh, etc.). If Mr. Jahednorouzi is returned to Iran, he will certainly face persecution: detention and torture, and possibly execution. The Cyprus Refugee Rights Movement and the International Coalition for the Rights of Iranian Refugees are working to stop Mr. Jahednorouzis deportation, which we learned of on 20 August 2011. Public support for Mr. Jahednorouzis right to asylum is urgently needed.

APPENDIX A. DOCUMENTATION OF MR. JAHEDNOROUZIS ANTI-REGIME ACTIVITIES WHILE IN CYPRUS

This Appendix is comprised of several items documenting Mr. Hadi Jahednorouzis anti-regime activities over the past decade, including letters testifying to his considerable activism in antiregime organizations, photos of him in anti-regime magazines, and photos of him at protest actions. Note that the first document is handwritten and signed by Admiral Ahmad Madani, former Commander of Iranian Navy and Minister of Defense (1979), former Governor of Khuzestan province (1979-80), and leader of the National Front of Iran from 1980 until his death in 2006. The second document demonstrates that Mr. Jahednorouzi had a leadership position within an Iranian opposition organization: he was one of two official representatives of the United Front of Iranian Nationalists in Limassol, Cyprus.

The following two items are, respectively, a magazine cover of an anti-Islamic Republic publication, followed by a page from that magazine showing Mr. Jahednorouzis name and photograph (left column, bottom), and indicating his leadership responsibility in organizing against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
