York and boasts recognition from both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the

exceptional scholastic and professional success with recent USMLE Step 1 pass rates at 93%.
Special programmatic emphasis and strengths of the medical school:
St. Matthew’s has a multicultural, diverse student population with a high level of clinical
competency. Many graduates come equipped with post-graduate degrees including MBAs from
Davenport University. Students in general are older, more mature, and bring a strong work ethic
to the work place. Students are most interested in providing care to medically under-served
communities and St. Matthew’s strives to provide quality education focused both on the success
of our students and on patient-centered care.
Special characteristics of the medical school’s educational program:
In addition to Clinical “Block Rotations”, St. Matthew’s offers an interactive online web based
oversight in the Clinical years using ANGEL, a Learning Management System. This provides
direct access to discussions and interactions with the Clinical Chiefs.
