EXPERIENCE
Faith Popcorns BrainReserve May 2011- August 2011 I was a Trend Analyst where my main responsibility was to research current and trending news. The main goal of my daily research was the find interesting and new concepts, locations, products, and ideas that would benefit our clients. During my research I was also responsible for tracking news coverage about any of our clientsmost of which are Fortune 50 companies. In addition, I assisted in the research and execution of several client presentations. I also helped with the building of our website by submitting written pieces about trending news, which changed daily. Campaign for U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service February 2011- April 2011 Created a campaign for the release of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service semipostal stamp in September. I presented, along with my public relations team, an extensive public relations strategies pitch. Through implementing suggested programs, such as university club establishment, elementary school programs, and social media networking, we hope the awareness of both animal conservation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will increase dramatically within the general public. George Washington UniversitySemester in Washington Program January 2011- May 2011 A rigorous program developed for aspiring communication professionals. Within the narrow pool of individuals who are accepted into the program, students learn essential skills for the journalism field. During the semester I learned how to shoot videos, video editing on Final Cut Pro, create blog pages, and effectively utilized social media networking outlets. In addition, during the program each student is required to have a four-day a week internship. Share Our StrengthCommunications Intern January 2011- May 2011 Assisted the communications departmentweb development, social media, and public relations teams. The two largest campaigns that I helped with are the No Kid Hungry state launch campaigns as well as the Teachers Report launch. I also assisted in several of Share Our Strengths fundraising campaigns, such as the Great American Dine Out and the Taste of the Nation. Responsibilities included creating various media contact lists for different campaigns. I also reached out to different media sources about recent media advisories that had been sent out. In addition, I was responsible for compiling daily news clips that mentioned Share Our Strength or childhood hunger related news, which is then sent out to the entire headquarters staff. I also posted any significant articles about childhood hunger onto the organizations webpage. Some press releases were also directed my way to get any edits or revisions. NBC Connecticut, West Hartford, CtCommunity Projects Assistant August 2010 - December 2010 Assisted in the planning of NBC Connecticuts annual Health and Wellness Festival where over 20,000 people attend within the two-day event. After the Health and Wellness Festival, I was responsible in helping plan other charity events such as the Connecticut Salvation Armys Toy Drive. Responsibilities include contacting paid sponsors in regards to event details, working along side the design director to ensure the correct information goes into the events pamphlet, create online surveys for vendor feedback after the event, utilize social media networks (Twitter and Facebook) to reach out to the target public audiences for the event, and responsible for answering any questions or concerns the vendors may have prior to the event. Interned in the Special Events department at one of the largest children's hospitals in the country. One of a staff of five that raised over 2 million dollars for new construction at CHLA through the 2007 Nautica Malibu Triathlon. Central responsibility was contacting high-profile businesses and recruiting donations for the Childrens Triathlon gift bags. Additional duties included answering phones, office organization, and secretarial / accounting work.
