Topic: THE EFFECT OF POWDERED PYRITE ON THE GROWTH OF

CHINESE GINSENG

Problem: What is the effect of powdered pyrite on the growth of Chinese

ginseng?

Hypothesis: I think that if powdered pyrite is added to the soil in which the
Chinese ginseng is planted, then it will enhance its growth.

Amount of Powdered Pyrite
Growth on terms of Plant Weight

Materials:
Pots (15 pieces)
Potting soil (2 bags)
Powdered Pyrite (600 grams)
Chinese ginseng plants (15 pieces)
Weighing Scale

Experimental Procedure:
1. Fill fifteen (15) pots with potting soil.
2. Carefully place the Chinese ginseng to these pots.
3. Add the following amounts of powdered pyrite:
20 grams to 3 pots
40 grams to 3 pots
60 grams to 3 pots
80 grams to 3 pots

These will make up the following experiments:

3 pots with plain potting soil
3 pots with plain potting soil with 20 grams of powdered pyrite
3 pots with plain potting soil with 40 grams of powdered pyrite
3 pots with plain potting soil with 60 grams of powdered pyrite
3 pots with plain potting soil with 80 grams of powdered pyrite

4. Make sure that the location is good for the plants so that they will all
be exposed to same conditions and they will not be disturbed during
the course of the experiment.

5. Water all the pots with plain water daily.

6. Two months later, pull the plants and begin gathering data. The thing
to be measured is the plants’ growth in terms of weight. Therefore,
each plant will be weighed.
