On Our Way With Jesus:

Each year our Parish invites parents who want to continue their commitment to
the Faith Development of their children to prepare them for the Sacraments of
Reconciliation and Eucharist. Our Catechetical team is prepared to assist
parents who choose to bring their children into a more complete experience of
God’s love in our lives. Registration forms are available now at the Parish office.

The program will begin on the week after Thanksgiving. We cannot
accept people after we have started!!! Please register now.

your efforts would be appreciated. Please let us know.
SENATORS GAME– We have procured 40 Ottawa Senators tickets for the game against the New
York Islanders on Thursday, November 13th and we have chartered a bus to get us there and
back. The parish will cover the cost of the bus rental and we invite you to assist us with a canned
food donation for the new Connections Ministries which is a local ministry to men who want to be
food of their addictions and want to life a life of hope. The first forty parishioners to register with
a $45.oo cheque or cash to St. Francis Xavier Parish will receive a ticket. If there are not forty
parishioners we will then open up to friends.

GUIDE FOR 2008 FEDERAL ELECTION

(CCCB – Ottawa)...With a federal election campaign underway, the Social Affairs Commission of
the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) has issued a guide inviting Catholics to
vote but to do so with discernment.
In its “Federal Election 2008 Guide”, the Commission “encourages Catholics to become better
informed about the issues, to voice their concerns with the political candidates...and, most of
all, to vote.” The four-page text goes on to list some basic principles from Catholic moral and
social teaching to help voters examine and evaluate public policy and programs.
Copies of the Guide are available at the table of the main entrance of the church or on line go to www.
cccb.ca (Scroll down on home page to “Guide for 2008 Election.”)

BAPTISMS: We welcome to the Christian Community the child baptized at St.

Francis Xavier last weekend. As the Parents and Sponsors made a commitment to
share with this child our Catholic faith, we as a faith community offer our on-going
support to *OAKLEIGH ELSIE LIVINGSTONE, daughter of Ken & Tiffany

REMINDER: We will be holding a special Thanksgiving food drive.
