Water Treatment Plants

Six water treatment plants were installed in Sadiqabad city and their details are as below: 1. Ahaata TMA 2. Near MTB School 3. Near Faisal Town 4. Mazhar Fareed Colony 5. Pulli Jamal Din Wali 6. Satellite Town 7. Near Railway station.

The inauguration date of the plant that is installed in Ahaata TMA has a date written on its inauguration plate which is 9th June 2006.It was inaugurated by Rafique Haider Laghari, who was the District Nazim at that time. This plant is totally out of order from a very long period and why this plant is not working? This issue still needs to be addressed. Some sources say that as soon they put this plant in working, it was below standard and thats why they had to shut it down. Apart from this plant, the timings of the plants i-e Near MTB, Near Faisal Town, Mazhar Fareed Colony and Pulli Jamal Deen wali are from 7am till 7pm. But this schedule is always disturbed due to the unannounced load shedding. If power shuts down, then the plant almost take two hours to process the water and make it useable for people. So if the light goes off, then the water doesnt stay available for around three hours. And if there is a power shortage after hour, then these plants cant produce useable water. So the above four plants are rented by private individuals after they were installed. But when we interacted with the people who are using those filter plants on daily basis, they told us that mostly the technical person who is appointed for that plant is mostly unavailable during his working hours and some non-technical person is mostly there instead of him. The tenants dont even change filters on required time. So unhygienic water is also supplied through these filtration plants. Chlorines use is also a very necessary step for making water pure but mostly they dont use it as well. The water without its use is also unhygienic and cant be used. And in fact sometimes they dont even process the water through plants and the water supply schemes water directly to the people. Now the question is that why these private tenants play with human life just to save some amount of their money? But this point of view is just extracted by people. There should be an independent survey and study on these matters. The satellite town plant is not only bigger in capacity as compared to other but it is also following every rule and regulation properly. Chlorine is used on time and filters are also changed on defined time period. They also take care of plants fitness. The reason

behind these positive features is that the Arabs fitted this plant here and they are still paying for its maintenance. And on the other hand, maintenance of the other plants are done by their respective tenants and they save money by not spending on its maintenance. In start, censors were installed on these plants and they were centrally monitored. But now those censors are removed. A detail report is needed with the help of a technical expert. It should be an authentic and unchallenging report.
