Sadler 8th/9th Analysis of Anne Frank Can you imagine hiding away for almost a whole year inside a small annex? Regard our hiding as a dangerous adventure Anne Frank said when they were hiding. The author of this book is Frances Goodrich. The title of the book is The Diary of Anne Frank. The Franks and the Van Daans went into hiding together to escape being sent to concentration camps. Mr. Frank gave Anne a diary for her birthday. Anne had to find things to do while she was hiding in the secret annex. Anne demonstrated courageousness and fun by hiding in the secret annex and writing in her diary. First, When Hitler took power in Germany, Anne had to be courageous and hide away in the secret annex. When Anne starts to talk she says where there's hope, there's life. It fills us with fresh courage and makes us strong again. Anne has a lot of courage because even though shes afraid of getting found, she has the courage to encourage others to keep going and to not give up. Another time when the reader sees Annes courage is when Anne finds out they have to come out of hiding she says, And so it seems our stay here is over. Even though Anne and her family have been found, she still has the courage to not run away and be killed, but to go to the concentration camp. Secondly, Even though they were in hiding, and there was not a lot do to, Anne still liked to have fun. When Anne receives the diary from her father, Anne goes to get a pencil, but Mr. Frank says, It isnt safe. No, you must never go beyond that door. This shows that Anne really wanted to have some fun, and would put herself in danger of being caught to get it. Another time when the reader sees Anne liking to have fun is when Anne was telling peter about how she used to have fun. She said I bet Jopie that I could eat five ice-cream cones. Wed all been playing ping-pongWe used to have heavenly times This showed the kind of fun Anne used to have before they went into hiding. She wishes that she could get out of hiding so she could have fun with her friends again. Thus, While Anne and her family and the Van Daans were hiding together in the secret annex, anne had to be courageous and had to hide away, while still having some fun. The readers of the story The Diary of Anne Frank should realize how tough it was to live in the secret annex, and how courageous you had to be. Because back then there was not a lot to do, especially while in hiding. So can you imagine even more now how it was to hide away for almost a year in a small annex?
