Welcome to A.C.T.!!!!
Welcome to A.C.T (Active Christian Teenagers)! Thanks so much for joining. We know that God is going to do amazing things as we commit to serve Him through serving those in need and showing kindness to others. If you are a new member, you should be receiving your members packet shortly, if you have not yet received it. In this members packet you will get a folder containing various information as well as a brand new group t-shirt (these will be coming in shortly). This is why we ask that new members pay a $15 fee to help cover those costs (you can pay that whenever we deliver the t-shirts). Once again, thanks so much for joining and if you have any questions, feel free to call or email us!

1 Peter 4:10
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of Gods grace in its various forms.

Crazy Love Book Review

by Sarah Moll
Recently, I finished reading the book, Crazy Love, by Francis Chan, and it cut me to the core. The truth in chapters such as, Profile of the Lukewarm, Serving Leftovers to a Holy God, When Youre in Love, and, Profile of the Obsessed, was more than a little difficult for me to swallow, only because I realized how un-committed I was to my walk with Christ. In the chapter, Serving Leftovers to a Holy God, Chan writes; Jesus call to commitment is clear: He wants all or nothing. The thought of a person calling himself a Christian without being a devoted follower of Christ is absurd. Jesus wants everything, and I hadnt given everything to Him. But the solution isnt to try harder, fail, and then make bigger promises, only to fail again. The answer lies in letting Him change you. *I would strongly encourage the older members to read through Crazy Love, and let Gods truth change you. I promise you, you will never be the same.

September Service Project

This month, we will be meeting on Friday, September 23rd at Abigails house (a map is available on our website), from 12 PM to 4 PM. We will start off our first meeting by making 10 dozen chocolate chip cookies, so be ready to bake!!! After we bake the cookies, we will enjoy a quick lunch, write some thank-you notes, and head off to 5 local fire stations. Please be sure to wear your A.C.T. t-shirt and jeans, and be ready to represent Christ to those who serve our community! Please sign up for this project on our website as soon as possible. Thanks!

*This book was written for a young adult audience, so I would not personally recommend it to younger members. Also, if you do not own your own copy of, Crazy Love, please let me know! I have purchased a couple extra copies as loaners, and I would be happy to let you borrow one

Group Photo!!!
In order to celebrate getting fancy schmancy group t-shirts, we are going to organize a group photo! We need group photos not only for print materials and the website, but also for handing out cards at certain service events (such as the upcoming event). We have a tentative date set for September 18th, right after church. Please bring your shirts to church with you (we will get them to you ASAP!) and either jean pants or a jean skirt and it should only take about 15 minutes. Thanks!

Serving with the Right Motives September Devotion

I heard someone say once that we can be very earnest about something and yet be very earnestly wrong. It was a very profound statement. So often I see this demonstrated in our society. I see people give all they have to causes that they are very passionate about. I see people pursue beliefs in life that may not be harmless, but may not be fruitful in the long run either. It reminds me of the verse in Proverbs that says, All a persons ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. (Proverbs 16:2). We can pursue causes or give generously to them but they can all be for nothing. If Im giving to charities and serving others simply to look good to others my works are meaningless in the long run for the Lord knows and sees where my heart stands. He knows that I simply did things for show. And if I give all my time and money to something I really DO believe in but that cause goes against the Word of God in some way or form again my invested time and money are worthless. My heart and soul and what reside there are very important to the Lord. The intent, love, purity and motivation that live inside of each one of us weigh heavily with God. Its so easy to get wrapped up in doing what everyone else is doing, doing things for the fun of it, or doing things because it looks good.we forget that the only true way to do things is with love. Romans 16:18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of nave people. It is important for us to evaluate our own intent and actions every once in awhile to make sure that we have the right motivation and not that we are doing things simply to fulfill our own fleshly emotions and desires. Its also important for us to be wary of who is in our lives and what kind of endeavors they bring into our homes and into our lives. Many people seem to have good causes but in actuality, they are stemmed from selfish ambition. God does want us to serve. But He wants us to serve humbly. He does want us to pursue our passions, but with prayer. And He does want us to give, but with the right heart. If we keep these things in mind as our compass. well never stray from serving Him with the pure goodness that He can use and flourish for so many. Galatians 5:13: "For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
