Journey Management Plan

1. Purpose of Journey Management Plan (JMP):


1.1. The purpose of the JMP is to ensure that all NNW personnel operate motor vehicles safely to, from, and during operations. 1.2. This plan should provide all pertinent information to be used in the safe planning of any journey. 1.3. Also the methodology to monitor journeys and who is deemed responsible for each journey are laid out in this plan.

2. Journey Plan. (Any distance)


2.1. The form on the next page should be used for journeys within the Domestic United States of America. 2.1.1. Contractors and Sub-Contractors are must also use the JMP form, but may substitute this form with an approved equivalent form as long as it contains the following information: 2.1.1.1. 2.1.1.2. 2.1.1.3. 2.1.1.4. 2.1.1.5. 2.1.1.6. 2.1.1.7. 2.1.1.8. 2.1.1.9. 2.1.1.10. Name of Driver Name/# of passengers Vehicle type Vehicle registration/fleet # Contact telephone names and #s Journey approval name Date of plan plus date of journey(s) All arrival and departure times Route details Rest period details.

2.1.2. The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for approving any journey; approval is dependent upon: The vehicle is approved 2.1.2.1. 2.1.2.2. The vehicle is in safe working condition 2.1.2.3. The drive has completed a vehicle checklist 2.1.2.4. The vehicle has specified safety equipment items 2.1.2.5. The driver is an approved/authorized driver.

2.1.2.5.1. If NNW personnel are driving a company vehicle, the driver must be current on Smith Systems driving. 2.1.2.6. The driver appears fit and not under any controlled substance. 2.1.2.7. The driver understands journey, JMP, and the emergency response system.

3. Journey Management Plan/Form


3.1. All JMP forms will be faxed to the main office, and will be kept on record for at least 3 months. 3.1.1. Download form from http://nnwoil.com/indexer/index.php.

4. Journey Requirements
4.1. Driver must follow all posted speed limits. 4.2. Never drive longer than 10hrs on a 12hr shift. 4.3. 8hrs rest must be taken every 24hrs. 4.4. If necessary take a 15min break every 2hrs while in transit.

5. Journey Managers Responsibilities/Duties


5.1. A Journey Manager (JM) will be the responsibility party for all journeys crew operations. 5.1.1. JM will monitor and communicate all journeys. 5.1.2. JM will make arrangements for any long distance journeys with the appropriate JMP Form, and will be responsible for dispatched company vehicle (if any) from the crew. 5.1.3. JMs must assure: 5.1.3.1. 5.1.3.2. SSE personnel are trained in accordance with NNWs JMP. To ensure that all personnel understand the journey, and abide by the JMP.

6. Contractors and Sub-Contractors


6.1. Contractors and Sub-Contractors will adhere to NNWs JMP unless an approved alternative program is submitted.

7. Drivers
7.1. A drivers of NNW vehicles must first have taken Smith-System Driving, and then perform the daily vehicle checklist prior to beginning any journey. 7.2. All drivers must understand the journey and should not deviate, if the Journey Plan (JP) must be changed please contact the Journey Manager. 7.3. It is the Drivers responsibility to submit the JMP form to the Journey Manager(JM).

8. Communication
8.1. The JP should be completed in a group with all parties that will be involved with daily operations. 8.1.1. The driver should take a copy with him on the journey. 8.2. Upon completing journey please fax or email the JP to the JM.
