TITLE AREA

RFID Based Automobile Security System Embedded systems

ABSTRACT We generally know many vehicle thefts going in our daily life. For example in 2010, 14,960 vehicles were stolen in the Capital (Delhi) with only 1,892 recovered, In which the most are due to general key system in their vehicles . Our low cost project RFID Based Automobile Security System will replace all key systems. Many secured places also insecurity today, which can be overcome by a simple kit, which doesnt allow others to access your vehicle. Here project main objective is to provide a secured key system to the vehicle with the use of RFID technology with its detection and response. Radio-frequency identification is an automatic identification method, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags or transponders. The technology requires some extent of cooperation of an RFID reader and an RFID tag. It allows only authorized persons to access a particular area or field where it is applied. In this security system an authorized person (who has tag) is allowed to access the automobile to activate its engine, by using a microcontroller, Here the key is replaced with RFID tag. When an RFID tag comes in this range, the reader detects it and sends a unique code of the tag serially. This serial code, consisting of 12 bytes, is received by the microcontroller. This code is treated as an ID for the user and is stored as an array in the microcontroller. If the ID is matched with this code, the user is granted access though the system. The accessing system is about turning on the engine after the code is matched and the user is allowed to access the system. The microcontroller tends to give a signal to the relay in practical conditions the relay is replaced with solenoid which is used by many of automobiles to switch on the engine. Steps in sequence

1. Power ON the supply 230v 2. LCD o/p message will be WELCOME TO RFID SECURITY SYSTEM 3. Keep the respective tag towards the RFID reader 4. If the tag code matches, 5. LCD o/p display ACCESS GRANTED 6. Relay/solenoid gets activated according to the system operation

7. If the tag code doesnt matches, 8. LCD displays as ACCESS DENIED ID 9. User wont get any access to the system Circuit should be developed for high currents. Programming should be developed so that the relay (solenoid) operates for some more time to produce a connection between battery and starter so that vehicle gets started

OBJECT OF THE PROJECT

The project is the prototype and which has to be developed and

implemented in future to access the automobiles like o Two wheeler having solenoid switch o Three and four wheeler which has starter motor o 6, 10, 18 wheelers when the system is developed to bear high currents and voltages. It is pretty better then barcode system which are used right now. The output of the system is just an access controlled switch. The applications of the access controlled switch are like o Access control to the door o Access control to the home appliances

o Access control to the lockers etc It is even applied to access the personal computer by just

connecting the max 2323 to the USB inter face circuit. Application Types Purpose of identification Determine the presence of an item Determine the location of an item Determine the source of an item Ensure affiliated items are not separated Correlate information with the item for decision-making Authenticate a person (holding a tagged item) Conduct a financial transaction

RFID technology can support a wide range of applicationsfrom asset management and tracking to access control and automated payment. The business requirements for these applications are as varied as the applications themselves. In particular,
