E-mail submissions to (atrs2011@unsw.edu.au), And cc to the ATRS Administrator (conference@atrsworld.org) The Air Transport Research Society (ATRS), Prof. Jason Middleton (Chairperson of the ATRS 2011 Organizing Committee), would like to invite you to submit abstracts for papers to be presented at the 2011 annual conference to be held in Sydney, Australia (29 June 2 July 2011.) You are invited to submit an abstract (or paper) on any air transport and related topic including economics, geography, policy analysis, management, human factors, marketing, operations, technology, logistics/supply chain management, or modeling. Specific topic areas include but not are limited to the following: Aviation security Human factors and safety issues Future scenarios for the air transport market and industry; Air transport policy, regulation and liberalization; Airport economics, policies, planning, and/or operations; Airline strategy, management and operations; Bilateral and multilateral negotiations and policies; Partnerships, alliances, cooperation; Air transport demand forecasting; Airline and airport performance; Regulation, competition and privatization of airport and other infrastructure; Low Cost Carriers and Airline Competition; Air Traffic Control Management, pricing and ATC congestion; ATC and Airspace management; Human resources, labor and air law issues; Air cargo forecasting, management, logistics and operations; E-procurement; e-distribution and IT applications; Marketing, pricing and yield management; Aircraft manufacturers; Aircraft design and Airline Fleet Planning; Demand and Traffic Forecasting; Operations Research in Air Transport: Modeling and/or Applications; Airline Pricing and Yield Management; Air Transport and Tourism; Air Transport, Land Use and Agglomeration; Air Transport and Other Social Sciences.

Abstract Format and Deadlines:


The conference presentation decisions will be based solely on the evaluation of abstracts, which should be 150-200 words (1 page) in length, and should contain the title; purpose of the paper; methodology; anticipated results or contributions to literature, industry or society. Please use our Abstract Template (attached at the end of this document). Abstracts must contain enough information for the referees to evaluate your contributions (theoretical, methodological, and/or empirical). Please make sure to provide names of authors, affiliations, senior authors title, e-mail address, mailing address, phone and fax number, etc. Please note: Your paper will appear in the electronic conference record only if the completed paper and the conference registration fee are received before June 1st, 2011. This electronic publication will be included in the conference registration package to be distributed to all conference participants, and is also made available for purchase via the ATRS website. NATURE of ATRS CONFERENCES:


The ATRS annual conference includes participation from all facets of the aviation industry: airlines, airports, ATC, aerospace, government officials, consultants and academics. In addition to paper presentations, the conference will also offer invited keynote speakers from industry and a panel session on current and critical issues facing the industry. The program for the 2011 conference will follow the format of previous events. A detailed program will be made available in late May 2011. Special Issues of Journals: Each year, selected papers from the ATRS conference are published in special journal issues. In the past, ATRS special

issues have appeared in the Journal of Air Transport Management, Transportation Research E, Journal of Air Transportation, Transportation Journal and Transport Policy: The Official Journal of WCTR Society.
