Mike Superstein's Hollywood Park Analysis for Thursday, April 21 FIRST RACE 1-REAL ROCKPORT 2-ZEES CHRIS 3-KATELYN

N' JENNA It's a difficult read as to how horses moving from Santa Anita's dirt track to Hollywood Park's synthetic surface will fare, so until local form is established, we'll attempt to concentrate on a combination of current form and history on Cushion Track. REAL ROCKPORT changed tactics last time and rallied from last for second in the slop March 25th. Whether it was intentional or accidental, the style switch resulted in a much-improved race. Walter Solis struggled across town but has always done well here, especially with young horses, and looks loaded for bear this meet. ZEES CHRIS exits the same race as 'ROCKPORT, finishing a length and one-half back of that one. A similar effort puts her in the exacta. If the track is playing for speed, KATELYN N' JENNA could be difficult to catch. She showed zip sprinting in her last two and Mike Mitchell hits at 31 per cent with the sprint-to-route maneuver. LONGSHOT-WARREN'S HOPEFUL SECOND RACE 1-VALKYRIE MISSILE 2-RIVER'S CHAPEL 3-LOCKSLEY HALL

This $25,000 claimer is dominated by droppers. VALKYRIE MISSILE has faced the best competition, ran well here in 2009 and is trained by red-hot Mike Puype, who has a flat-bet profit with 180 day-plus comebackers. Anything close to his maiden win, in which he defeated next-out winners King of California and Off the Wall, gets the cash today. The Golden Missile gelding is nicely situated outside and retains his regular pilot, Alonza Quinonez. RIVER'S CHAPEL displayed speed in a trio of stakes races as a juvenile and gets a huge rider change to Pat Valenzuela for his first start against older. He broke his maiden on this track last year in his second outing. LOCKSLEY HALL is winless in more than a year, but has speed and tries sellers for the first time. The chestnut worked super over this oval prior to his last start. LONGSHOT-OMINOUS THOMAS THIRD RACE 1-REMEMBER TO YODEL 2-DOLPHIN BAY 3-WILLA B AWESOME Valenzuela and Mike Harrington have done some damage over the years with juveniles and they hook up again here with REMEMBER TO YODEL. A daughter of Memo, REMEMBER TO YODEL is a half sister to several winners and her work tab appears good enough to turn back this sub-par field of Cal bred maidens. DOLPHIN BAY has dynamite connections (Hollendorfer, Rosario) and has trained well at Pleasanton. Presumptive Hall of Famer Hollendorfer is terrific in most categories and first timers are no exception (24 per cent). The Tricky Trevor homebred looks live at first asking. WILLA B AWESOME, one of two trained by Solis (MOLLY'S ALL HEART), lures Bejarano and shows a pair of nifty 3 furlong moves (:35, :35 2/5) over the track. LONGSHOT-BULLETGIRL FOURTH RACE 1-DONATO 2-HOT DAMON 3-KATE'S EVENT

DONATO won two of his last three, looks like the only speed in the field and the shorter trip only figures to help him. Everything Baffert sends out these days is live, especially with Rosario in the irons. We always thought that HOT DAMON was at his best sprinting, but even though he's returning to the short game, his last race was so poor that his physical state is now an issue. The 5-year-old has several races that would win this if he's okay. KATE'S EVENT is a dyed-in-the-wool stretch runner

who has taken two of his four starts. He closed from last to first with just an eighth of a mile to go last time but the fractions don't figure to be nearly as fast today. LONGSHOT-KORBAN FIFTH RACE 1-EARNEDNEVERGIVEN 2-STERLING OUTLOOK 3-ACE OF ACES EARNEDNEVERGIVEN won at this trip here last November and has been facing superior opponents recently. Two back he defeated recent easy winner Cherokee Heaven. One back, the Cee's Tizzy gelding was only three lengths behind a trio of stakes winners, Quick Enough, Amazombie and Dancing in Silks. He was a close third to the razor sharp Camp Victory and multi winner Streakin Mohican in his last outing March 27th and returned with a maintenance :59 4/5 seven days ago. STERLING OUTLOOK couldn't keep pace against fast splits in a miler March 11th and faded to fifth. He was right there in both grass sprints and has trained like a demon for this. ACE OF ACES edged 'OUTLOOK down the hill one back , then ran off in a mile and one-eighth race in his latest. He seems more comfortable around one turn these days. LONGSHOT-RAETODANDTY SIXTH RACE 1-MARGARITA SHOT 2-PURSE LUVA 3-FULL ON

MARGARITA SHOT is the most recent winner in this lineup, having captured a 6 1-2 furlong sprint over next-out winner Kim's Leading Man March 6th. The son of Kafwain has superior Beyer and Thorograph numbers and today's class drop should put him back in the circle. PURSE LUVA was a fast-closing third as the favorite after being compromised by a wide trip. That race was at a level below this, but he has defeated better in the past, including a victory for $16,000 in Inglewood last October. FULL ON edged PURSE LUVA for the place last time and is a double winner at Hollywood Park. Runners from this stable tend to be erratic, but if FULL ON duplicates his last, he'll be right there. LONGSHOT-BLAME THE JOCKEY SEVENTH RACE 1-DIAMOND GEEZAH 2-AIN'T NO OTHER 3-BOXEUR DES RUES

It's risky claiming a horse for $80,000, but Ted West may have gotten his money's worth in DIAMOND GEEZAH. The Irish bred has won two straight, both turf sprints, and is really the only proven grass horse in the field. Talamo should have the 3-year-old tucked in just behind an abundance of speed and prove best in the run home. AIN'T NO OTHER is a Bay Area invader working on a fourrace win streak. The speedball drew the right rider in Valenzuela, who will try to get the Old Topper gelding over from the outside post. Let's see if he handles the turf as well as Golden Gate's Tapeta. BOXEUR DES RUES took up at the start, then ran on well for fifth in last fall's Grade 3 Generous Stakes. He's never raced shorter than a mile and hasn't run since November, but Rosario aboard suggests he's ready for a big effort. LONGSHOT-ROBIE THE CAT EIGHTH RACE 1-THUNDER OF ZION 2-DANCING YODELER 3CLEARLYALUCKYGUY Joy Scott doesn't get many live mounts, but THUNDER OF ZION looks like the right horse in the nitecap. The brown colt was runnerup in a strong race for the class last time out and though he hasn't run since January, three fast works in April have him on edge. DANCING YODELER couldn't catch

giant longshot Da Marshall last time, which downgrades him in our mind. In his favor, 'YODELER retains Rosario and won't have to be used quite as hard to stay in touch. CLEARLYALUCKYGUY was a victim of the inside post in his debut. He broke a step slowly, tried to move up but seemed intimidated along the rail. With a better post and the experience, the Lucky Pulpit colt should improve. LONGSHOT-IGNITED BEST BET-ROCKPORT HARBOR (1)
