Petition to Call a Meeting of the NH Republican State Committee

The following voting members of the Republican State Committee direct the NHGOP Chairman to call a meeting of membership pursuant to Article I, Section 3 of the State Committee Bylaws. The purpose of the meeting is as follows: 1. To elect a new Chairman of the Republican State Committee. 2. To elect a new Vice Chairman of the Republican State Committee. 3. To fill any vacancies in the NH GOP Executive Committee created by either of these elections. 4. To amend Article II, Section 1 of our State Committee Bylaws as follows: Officers of the Committee need not be members thereof at the time of election. Any officer may be
removed at any time by a majority of the members of the Committee or by a majority of the members of the Executive Committee first by a majority vote of the members of the Executive Committee to refer the matter to the general membership, and then by a majority of the general membership at an emergency meeting. No vote to remove any officer shall be valid unless each member is notified of the proposed action, and the specific reasons for removal, by mail at least five days before the vote is taken.

5. To amend Article II, Section 1 of our State Committee Bylaws as follows:

In the event an officer resigns to participate in a primary, he or she will not be eligible to serve as an officer until the following biennium. (Also see Article I Sec. 4a). Notwithstanding the provisions of Article 2, Sections 3 and 4(B), in the event of removal or resignation of the State Chairman, a meeting of the State Committee may be called at any time for the purpose of holding an election to fill the vacancy, as well as any vacancies created by temporary appointments. Notwithstanding any provision of Article IX, this amendment shall take effect immediately upon passage."

We further remind the Executive Committee that the general membership of the Republican State Committee is the final authority on all matters affecting the Committee. Article IV, Section 1 of our bylaws state that The Executive Committee shall have all the powers, authority and responsibility of the Committee between meetings of that body, and its decisions shall be effective until permanent action shall be taken by the Committee. Notwithstanding the success or failure to adopt any of the proposed bylaw amendments, the general membership is entitled to elect a new Chairman and Vice Chairman.

(see page 2 for signatures)

We, the undersigned voting members of the Republican State Committee hereby call for a meeting of the full body within 10 days after the receipt of notice of the signatures of at least 50 members of the committee.
