Shutter / Clamp Lock Valve Oscillation

For Bosch to Rexroth conversions: instructions regarding cordsets changed, parts added, schematic section corrected.

Products Potentially Any H-clamp style machines equipped with clamp lock directional valve NG06 or NG10, shipped prior to January 2006. Affected Problem Some customers have experienced shutter valve oscillation resulting in the clamp lock assembly losing the unlock/lock proximity switches and, consequently, stopping the machine from cycling. A loud vibrating noise can be heard from the clamp end of the machine. The root cause of this oscillation can be a lack of diodes across the terminal outputs for these valves, or a weak spring in the valve. If your machine displays the symptoms described, check and record the Husky part number of the shutter / clamp lock valve. Replace with a new valve and/or install additional parts as listed below. Machines equipped with NG06 valve HPN 2385422. This is a Bosch valve with a topmounted block and M12 4-pin Rev. 3 connector. 1) Replace the existing valve with valve HPN 3531856. Select correct mounting bolts from kit (imperial or metric). 2) Use the existing cordset or the new cable and connector, if required. Add a splitter and two valve cables. 3) Install (2) diodes as per installation instructions on pages 3 and 4.

Machines equipped with NG06 valve HPN 3146809 (4WE6W736X/EG24N9K33L/V). This Rexroth valve has an electrical connector on each coil, but is equipped with a weak spool centering spring.

1) Replace the existing valve with valve HPN 3531856. 2) Check the clamp I/O box, located at the clamp end of the machine, or the control cabinet to confirm the presence of (2) diodes. If diodes are not present, they must be installed as per installation instructions on pages 3 and 4.

Machines equipped with NG06 valve HPN 3531856 (4WE6W736XEG24N9K33L/V S09). This Rexroth valve has an electrical connector on each coil and is equipped with a stronger spool centering spring.

1) Check the clamp I/O box, located at the clamp end of the machine, or the control cabinet to confirm the presence of (2) diodes. If diodes are not present, they must be installed as per installation instructions on pages 3 and 4.

Machines equipped with NG10 valve HPN 2432746. This is a Bosch valve with a topmounted block and M12 4-pin connector.
