TERMINAL LEARNING OBJECTIVE

Action: To train crewmembers on the proper use of the Air Warrior Vest. Condition: Given the appropriate training to perform the required actions. Standard: To be able to successfully deploy the contents of the Air Warrior Vest in a survival/egress situation.

Functional Description
The Air Warrior system is a lightweight, modular survival vest with a built in extraction harness User designed and tested 3 generations of revisions in just 2 years! Eliminates needs for redundant items Adjustable for maximum user comfort

Overview
Open style vest with two primary pockets 360 deg range on the zippers on the Gen 1 Now has Platforms instead of pockets (Gen 3 has external MOLLE straps for customized location of radio, tourniquet pouch, etc..) Made for easy locating of items in a downed aircrew situation *Everything is tied down inside*

Spark-Lite
Contains a sparking device, treated cotton tinder, extra flints and instructions. Assemble tinder and fire material Fluff the end of the treated cotton tinder Using the same motion as a lighter, activate the sparking device about 1 cm away from the cotton tinder. Once tinder is ignited, proceed to make a fire. *Do not attempt to ignite fuel with either fire starter*

Doxycyclene
Uses: Doxycycline is used to treat bacterial infections, including pneumonia and other respiratory tract infections; lyme disease; acne; infections of skin, genital, and urinary systems; and anthrax (after inhalational exposure). It is also used to prevent malaria. Doxycycline is in a class of medications called tetracycline antibiotics. It works by preventing the growth and spread of bacteria. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

Lopermide
USES: Loperamide slows the rate at which the stomach and intestines move. It also increases the density of stools and reduces the amount of fluid in the stool. Loperamide is used for symptomatic relief of acute and chronic diarrhea. DOSAGE: For diarrhea: Adults and teenagersThe usual dose is 4 milligrams (mg) (2 capsules) after the first loose bowel movement, and 2 mg (1 capsule) after each loose bowel movement after the first dose has been taken. No more than 16 mg (8 capsules) should be taken in any twenty-four-hour period.

Tylenol (Acetaminophen)
USES: This drug is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever. HOW TO USE: Take this medication as directed. Do not take more acetaminophen than recommended. Do not use for more than 10 days without consulting your doctor. Acetaminophen is often used instead of aspirin. They are equally effective in relieving pain; *however*, acetaminophen does not reduce swelling and inflammation like aspirin does

Distress Marker Light MS 2000 Strobe

Battery operated, high intensity, sequenced strobe light. Can be seen for 5 miles at night Will operate for 9 continuous hours and 18 intermittent hours. Operates at 50 FPM +-10FPM Has an NVG filter, and an IR filter. Do not point at aircraft without flashguard installed in a combat environment as it can be mistaken for ground fire.

Signaling Mirror
Has a transparent hole with an aiming device in the center of the mirror. Sight the mirror on your hand or other close object. Focus until an intense bright spot is located, this is the aim point Slowly sweep the mirror across the horizon or at the rescuing acft. Has been seen up to 99 miles away, and in low light/overcast conditions. Exercise caution in a combat environment as mirror flashes can be mistaken for ground fire, and it can also give away your position to the enemy.

Whistle
Can be used as an auditory signaling device. Used to rally other downed crew, etc..

Extraction Harness
Sewn in, no more straps that bunch up No longer single use, now can be used multiple times. One time fitting for mode of flying (combat, coldweather etc..) Has rear carrying/dragging handle Can be extracted by front d-ring attached to lifting points. Sub pelvic strap forms a seat when being extracted to aid in comfort and safety of user.

Air Warrior System Additions Body Armor

The Air Warrior ballistic insert has a water-repellent treatment and a water-resistant casing to assist with preserving the ballistic capability. It is the users responsibility to use good sense in further reducing the moisture risk by keeping the ballistic inserts dry. Do not soak soft ballistic inserts or use bleach or starch. When wet, untreated aramid (read Kevlar) cloth could lose up to 40% of its ballistic capability thereby decreasing its protective quality and endangering the safety of the wearer. Do not If the ballistic insert plates are suspected or known to have been damaged sufficiently to cause cracking, i.e., a drop of 48 inches or more onto a hard surface, or a force of 40 ft. lbs. or more, they shall be x-rayed and inspected for damage at AVIM
