Flu Season The Flu campaign will begin in October. Remember that Flu can be a very serious illness.

The following groups of people are eligible for a free Flu Vaccination: Patients aged 6 months or more suffering from any of the following: Chronic Lung Disease Diabetes Heart Problems Liver or Kidney disease Asthma Lowered Immunity Neurological Disease Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease If you are Pregnant Patients aged 65 or over We will be writing to eligible patients and advertising our FLU walk in clinic times shortly. Throughout the year we offer a one off Pneumococcal vaccine to those who will be 65 and above on 31 March 2012, just book an appointment to see the nurse.

Practice Surveys We will shortly be asking you to complete a patient satisfaction survey to enable us to identify the issues that matter to you most. Patient Participation Group (PPG) 2011 The Rushey Green Group Practice PPG will be holding an AGM which ALL practice patients are invited to attend in the New Year. This meeting will focus on patient groups work since its foundation in 2008. We will also be discussing feedback that many of you will have provided via practice surveys and discussing with you the results and how we can continue to improve our services. Walk In Clinic Update Just a reminder that the Walk-In Clinic runs from 10 10:45am Monday to Friday. We will not put patient names on the walk in list until 9:55am. All morning appointments from 8.00am to 10.00am are pre-bookable for up to one month in advance. Same Day appointments are still available in the afternoon and these need to be booked from 8am. There are also one month prebookable appointments available for afternoons/evenings. Saturday appointments are bookable a week in advance. This system is aimed at ensuring your peace of mind that you will be seen on the day by a GP or NP if you present in the surgery.

The surgery is still offering lung function testing to all our patients aged 40 and over that smoke or who have smoked 20 cigarettes a year for at least 20 years. This simple and fast test can pick up early signs of possible lung damage so we can offer help and advice well before you may experience any symptoms. Ask at Reception for details.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS Please, please, please, phone us to cancel your appointment in good time if you cant make it so that we can make the appointment available to someone else who may need it.
