Getting Started with Supported Typing

The Ge tting st ar t ed workshops will give you the knowledge, experience and confidence to make the best possible start with supported typing. What is Supported Typing?
Supported typing, or facilitated communication (FC), is a form of alternative and augmentative communication in which people with disabilities, which include communication impairments express themselves, by pointing at pictures, words, objects but most commonly by typing letters. They access their communication devices wit h t he physical support of a communication partner or facilitator. The ultimate goal of this communication method is physical independence from the facilitator.
