Introduction:
Pakistans majority areas are too backwards and really poor. While traveling through Mirpur we never noticed such a place or places like these were just another dot on the map. Once we looked into it, it was altogether something too touching. Government cannot do all for its people there is a stage where people should realize their role also. For us these small contributions might be just another in our lives but for many those would be life changing. The developed countries did not become the way they are by the help of the governments they had, but by the help of the society itself. Vibrant and conscious people in those communities realized the need to contribute themselves and not to wait for govts awakening to their own needs. Further underlining the fact that countries do not make people but the people make the countries. We overlook the places and do not realize that the not so important looking places need a little care and infrastructure to produce the ever so shining stars who make the country proud and shine till the dawn of a prosperous era. Faloota Gujraan in Tehsil Dadiyal is one such place. For affluent people like us, it is just a dot on the map and while traveling on highway at high speeds, one may not know of its existence while passing several times near it. Let me acquaint you with this previously unknown but now occupying a special place in our lives. Faloota Gujraan is located 82 km east of Islamabad, Pakistan. The village consists of 86 houses with a population of over 350 people and just one school, that too primary school of one room. People had to send their children to other villages after third grade even. The school was deprived of the basic necessities of stationary and syllabus, clean drinking water and sewerage system, outer boundary wall and level ground to reach the premises to shabby walls and missing window there were all sort of problems.

After the construction of proper sewerage system and leveling of the track for the students we moved on to the plastering of afore mentioned shabby walls. The building came out to be in a quite good shape. This will not only help the students in studies but also the parents to be satisfied that their children are attending a good school. The washroom was not operable, water facilities lacked, ceilings leaked and seating arrangement was not good at all. After this not only students find it easy to study with these facilities but also teachers are now attracted to teach there. Now interview sessions are held by the government and women teachers are applying there hard and fast after seeing the refurnished facility.

2. Copy of the Proposal.

The students of Iqra University intend to undertake a promising community development project headed by the director of corporate social responsibility. The project is a significant component of our course in the Development studies and Business Administration program. The aim of the project is to identify any social issue in the area or region and after consultation with the professor complete this project with in a timeline to bring about a positive change in the society. Over the last two years, the students of Iqra university through such projects were able to generate funds of approximately Rs.5million.thereby, bringing opportunities for the under privileged of the society. The school is in really bad shape with just one room. The windows and doors are missing at few places. The washroom is in no shape to be used. There is no stair or proper way for the students to reach the school area. There is no boundary wall and there is a great threat that students might fall from there. The walls did not have plaster on them. So our project will include:

Re-furnishing the facility

Making a boundary wall Construct pathway for children leading them to the school from the road below

Remake the washroom Re construct the sewerage system

We will target firms and organizations with a CSR portfolio, so that we may be able to raise the expected amount of funds and ensure its appropriate utilization.

3. Sponsors:
Throughout the project our visits taught us many things. The more we visited the organizations the more we learnt. We had visited Shell Aviations, Nova Synpac and German Waters. We showed them our project idea, presented them the facts and told them the figures we required. On the first visits they seemed very hopeful and gave us the hopes that they would certainly help us. Later Shell Aviations CEO wanted more data more visits and more visits to pay us. The amount of time we did not have. We learnt that no matter how high the promises, people will only help you where they see their own benefit. When the test comes the only thing you are left with is hope and at any stage in life not only in the projects, when you dont lose hope, you never fail. The attitude of, the game is not over because I havent won yet is the way to go in life. We repeatedly knocked their doors and repeatedly were turned down. We even were told at the start that this is a project only NGOs are supposed to take. A small group of young students is not enough for it and were laughed at. We are thankful for all those people who turned s down, for they ignited a never-ending spark in us.

The caretaker of the place, Chaudhary Qurban, when first met us was quite numb to our visit as he told us that many before have promised him reconstruction and till then not even the basic necessity of water was fulfilled. We told him how determined we were and assured him that if he cooperates, we will make this happen with the help of Almighty. He, along with the other people, was very cooperative and very receptive to what asked and told. More we visited, the more he became happy and took us with open arms. When the project started, the teacher there was so overwhelmed that she became in tears. The people had no words but emotions of affection to show us and the University that sent us there. The beneficiary could not believe that what he thought to be impossible was a dream coming true. He assured us that not only would he take care of the facility but would invite us time to time to observe the project site.

Conclusion:
We are really thankful to our University and IICSR that it has made us realize important virtues to what we never gave importance, through this experience filled project of

community development. It has changed our lives altogether, not only do we feel now but also given us the vision for things, people and places which were petty for us before this. Faloota, Gujran in Dadiyal is a far off place and crossing Mirpur in our luxury cars and tiresome sleeps we never did notice places like these. A mere dot on the map would become so important to us and we would feel for the people and places with all our emotions, we never expected of ourselves. Here, in cities, studying in our air-conditioned classrooms and centrally heated walkways and lobbies, we can not even imagine the life in those remote areas. Had it not been for the unfurnished facility, un-plastered walls, missing doors and windows, absent boundary walls, we could not have realized what we have and what Almighty has blessed us with. Had we not seen the shivering children studying from their torn books, we would not have known the thrust of His blessings He showered on us. In short IICSR has revealed and opened a new vision and sight for us and made a place, unknown to us, a part of our lives.
