MUGHAL THEME
With more or less the entire Indian Subcontinent being under Mughal Rule for Four Centuries, their architecture, cuisine and other aspects of day to day living has become an integral part of Indias cultural heritage. At Hotel X Agra, the Mughal Theme takes the guests back to the grandeur of Mughal nobility and are welcomed by Gatekeepers who were known as Chobdars, to the royal Dawat Khana (Eating Room). The facade of the Dawat Khana resembles that of a typical Mughal fort with traditional court music playing in the background. Hotel X City can arrange hiring of dresses for the guests. Seated on colorful ornate mattresses scattered with rose petals and numerous bolsters, the guests are shown a classical dance performed during the evening. The meals which are served in copper dishes can be portioned individually or as the tradition goes, for a group of people. Whether an extremely elaborate menu is chosen or just a simple one, Hotel X Agra, takes pleasure in confirming that all guests would be able to leave the Dawat Khana having lived through an important part of Indias cultural heritage. While some of the facilities offered are listed overleaf, we would recommend that for a more detailed and personalized Mughal Theme, our Food & Beverage Department should be contacted.

Bar-be-cue
India is well known all over the world for its history and rulers, be it Rajput, Maratha Kings or Mughal emperors. They all were very well known for their lifestyles and inclination towards good food. As a result Indian cooking reached its peak in variety and taste during the Mughal raj where it had a perfect blend of Hindu and Mughal cuisines. There were separate menus for each occasion or any royal event. Hunting was the favorite past time for these rulers, and they used to spend days in the forest. As a result bar be cue menus were created for these occasion which consisted of lots of Kebabs and grilled items which were cooked at site and served straight on to the plate from the griddle. To give you the experience of this cuisine Hotel X City has specially created the menus.
