Forums are not a new development: SAP integrated Jive Forums, a proven forum solution, which is already used as forum application in SAP Developer Network (SDN), into SAP NetWeaver Portal. Forums are a 100% Java application that leverages server-side technologies such as Servlets, JSP, and JDBC, they are database independent through OpenSQL compliance.

Knowledge Management and Collaboration (KMC) is the basic content services within SAP NetWeaver Portal. It provides the basic capabilities that customers need to run their scenarios as well as extension framework for custom implementations. KM content transport (Export/Import service) now includes folder settings, such as subscription, time-based publishing, state management, and permissions

Mails sent by KMC services (such as notifications or room invitation mails) can now contain a personalized signature from the sending user

Additional reports for cleaning up deleted user leftovers, as well as for statistics on KM folders are available
KMC Archiving
KMC offers a toolset for implementing a completely automated archiving process, which involves marking documents and rooms for archiving, getting approval from their owners and notifying subscribed users, transferring them to an archive store, and finally deleting them permanently after a specific retention period.
Multiple Upload
A new UI control enables you to select and upload multiple files at once, also specifying metadata that applies to all of the selected files.
