PREFACE
With the changing scenario of economy, the investment avenues are also increasing. For an investor new ventures are being opened for the finding of money. Likewise, the investment horizon for the common man as well as for corporate is widening. In this global era, its really hard to find a suitable place for the investor to employ their money which could yield substantial returns and growth to their investment. For the same purpose, today the investor has the services of the professional consultants who are there to help us out in the matter of using hard earned money. Mutual Funds being one such service are the result of the lack of specialized knowledge. A Mutual Fund as a trust, pools the savings of a number of investors who share a common financial goal. The money thus collected is then invested in capital market instruments such as shares, debentures and other securities. The income earned through these investments and the capital appreciation realized is shared by its unit holders in proportion to the number of units owned by them. The study of the concept is important because very less people have knowledge about the mutual funds, their investment procedures etc.
