BUENOS AIRES: STINT

NEWS FROM THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE

La Vida Portea

-For uency in speaking Spanish. -That we would be able to learn from the old team and have a smooth transition of control as they prepare to leave in November. -For the Agronomy campus where I will be serving. (Specically for girls on this campus to come to know Christ and be leaders!)

Prayer Requests

Finally, I am in Buenos Aires, Argentina to begin working with Campus Crusade for Christ! Everyday I wake up in my apartment with my four roommates and have to remind myself that I actually live here now. The streets are lled with people speaking in Spanish, and I am slowly learning little by little how to communicate and navigate this massive city that so many

Argentines call home. I have enjoyed these past couple of weeks as we are trying to gure out what life is going to be like here. Also, its been a great time of seeing how the ministry here functions and learning more about how we will be serving here over the next fourteen months!

Imagine moving somewhere for the rst time and trying to gure out everything on your own, from navigating the bus system to cooking in a foreign country. Luckily for my team, this has not been as huge of a hurdle thanks to the two months of

overlap that we have with the old STINT team. The current STINT team has welcomed us with open arms and we are so grateful! They have graciously answered any of the questions to navigate our way around the that weve had and been patient city! with us as were still learning how

Getting a Look at Vida Estudiantil

Here in Argentina, the Campus Crusade movement is called Vida Estudiantil, which translates to Student Life. The rst two weeks were spent getting to know the three distinct campuses that the team is currently serving on. These campuses are Law, Economics, and Agronomy, and we have spent time of all of them since being here. Weve shadowed the old team, and weve gotten to talk and share with students on all the campuses about who we are, and ultimately about the Gospel! Weve all enjoyed seeing the different campuses and what the Lord is doing on each one!

Agronomy
We get off the bus at the last stop and enter these gates that lead into the campus. The path is lined with trees and for once I dont feel like Im living in a big city! My rst visit to the Agronomy campus was great and it was denitely my favorite. Fast forward two weeks, and we nd out what campuses we will be serving on...and Im going to be at Agronomy! I had such a peace about this decision and just really felt like this is where God wants me for the next year! During my rst full day on the Agronomy campus, I went with this Argentine girl, Mara Sol, to talk with students about what they believe and to share with them the Gospel. This really opened my eyes to two things: (1) the need for Christ on this campus as the majority of students are either apathetic or see God as part of a corrupt church and religion and (2) how beautiful it is to see Argentine students who have a desire to share with their fellow classmates about Christ. Im excited to get to serve with Vida Estudiantil in reaching this campus and I know there will be much more to share in the future!
